This is such an innovative approach to self-care, especially for the UA-cam space. Because most people assume self care is going to involve some kind of skin care routine, and Ingrid does something totally different here
« Self love without self acceptance is nothing but self abuse » - Elizabeth Gilbert. This quote has resonated A LOT with me during this time. Not every day can be inspiring or creative and accepting our boundaries and limitations is the greatest act of self-love. Thanks for the honesty Ingrid over the past few weeks about how you’re feeling, it’s genuinely very refreshing!
“It’s not fair for me to try and force old habits and routines onto myself when I’m not in the same space.” Wow. Thank you for this. I’m in grad school and I’ve been struggling because although I technically have all the time I could ever need to do schoolwork, I certainly do not have the same capacity. I love being a busy bee, but now the smallest tasks seem to take so much out of me
I actually went back to your older videos (5yrs back) because I remember how they made me feel. They gave me major motivation to wake up in the morning. So I went back, got the same nostalgic feeling and now I am here. It’s so motivational for me to see your transition into adulthood because I never had a transition I was just thrown in. I was a young mother so I had no choice but to just adult. I like to think that if I had had the chance I would have been a lot like you and I don’t know why but that brings me comfort and motivation. I love Ingrid and all stages of Ingrid and I love myself and all stages of me too. You’re so relatable! Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
I had a very weird, rough day today and was going to go to bed still feeling that way... until I clicked 2 of your vlogs just to listen to while I brushed my teeth and got into bed. Just a few seconds in, you immediately calmed me down enough to feel like putting in the effort to take care of myself fully, and reminded me that I should do so if it feels right. I honored that feeling and took a shower. I tried to really soak up the moments of stillness and warmth from the water. I did a whole nighttime routine while this vlog played and it felt so comfy to hear you take such good care of yourself and speak so kindly to yourself. I’m rambling now but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing what you have with us ❤️ your content, no matter WHAT it is as it evolves, always feels so grounding for me. Sending you lots of love and hugs from Florida, Ingrid 😌
I loved so much about this video. Ingrid, you are showing what real self-love and self-care looks like beyond facemarks and spa nights, and delving into the deep reasons why you've made each decision. When you chose to honor the part of yourself that wanted to end filming for the day, I teared up because of how powerful honoring ourselves can be. I really appreciate this video and I am going to follow your lead and commit and act of self-care for me today.
Oh Ingrid, this vlog made me realize I had to love myself a little more. So today when I woke up, I put on a nice outfit and I did my make up and my mood is very different from the other days.
Hi Ingrid, I have been watching you since day 1 but never left a comment. Thank you for uploading this, it is so difficult to feel "okay" during these times. I have an underlying wavelength of stress throughout the day. A few things I do, are listening to TED talks and motivational podcasts as I eat my breakfast, read positive affirmations, and just trying to let things flow.
I love that you said that meeting yourself where you are right now in this moment is self-love. It's truly in the little ways and in moments that we have opportunities to know who we are. Loved this, thank you! x
Seems really small but more impactful than I thought: painting my nails fun colors and patterns that I can't wear to work (due to a conservative environment). It brings some normalcy to my day and makes me smile.
Ingrid, you are wonderful, and I love you, truly. I have been watching you regularly since 2013... when my friend Mary told me that I reminded her so much of a UA-cam vlogger... what a HUGE compliment! You are so amazing, and I hope to meet you one day once this is all over. Be true to yourself, and know that the pressures come from within, and not from your fans. Sending hugs and kisses. Stay well girl.
Yesterday afternoon I went for a walk down the middle of neighborhood streets without my son--the first I've been away from in him in 3 weeks. When I saw a neighbor on her front porch that I haven't seen in more than a year, I stopped to talk to her from the street for about five minutes. Past me would have not allowed a walk to involve a chat, but both were helpful to me. Thank you for sharing this vlog.
An act of self love that I started to do recently is making a fresh juice in the morning before work. Also reading a book to get away from my phone and the news. Painting my nails & doing a face mask.
I love having a self love day on the weekends or having a self love evening after work. I usually practice yoga and do my nighttime skin care routine. Sometimes I’ll make tea or a smoothie, I’ll make my lunch for the next work day, I’ll clean/organize my space, I’ll disinfect the house, I’ll spend time with our cat and dog, I’ll read or journal…there’s a lot of different things I love to do to take care of myself, there’s no order I do them in. I’ll do what feels right for me in the moment
An act of self-love I've been doing in quarantine is letting myself have a snack if I crave it. I've been doing very well letting my body be my guide to what/when I eat (without just eating out of boredom). Also getting fresh air and doing yoga each once a day!
Hi Ingrid!! Thank you so much for this video.. things has been hard with this Covid-19 and lockdown.. I've been having relationship problems with my LDR girlfriend and we're on the verge of ending our relationship.. in the mist of all these, thank you for putting out that we need to love ourselves before letting others love us.. that has always been something I struggle with.. to love myself.. now that I'm jobless and quarantined, I am taking time out to focus on myself and searching for what I want in life.. Wish you all the best in everything!
I just was broken up with/rejected over issues that I was being too baity and instigating fights and insecure. I was starting to make positive steps, but it was too late. This week I have started exercising outside more to help my happiness as well as being more gentle on myself.
I have been planning one self care activity a day to make sure I take the time for myself through everything. The best this week was taking a nice long bubble bath with the book I'm reading.
I loved this video Ingrid! I loved that you only did what felt natural to you even when it came to filming things for the vlog! I actually did the same thing yesterday, I got creative and put a look together then shot some self portraits inside with my self timer. It felt amazing to be creative like that... but today I feel completely different. And if I want to listen to myself and practice self love, today I’m not going to push myself to do the same thing I did yesterday, I’m just going to take it easy. 💜🌈
This video was so gorgeous. Than you for sharing. I loved the thought of listening to yourself and not pushing yourself to do something for longer than you actually want to, or deciding NOT to do something you feel you "should" or that is expected. So often I feel that gut feeling of just not being fully in something, it takes a while to even notice, and then longer to decide to listen to it. Such a lovely, pure video. I feel like this will be one I come back to again. Wishing you well from Ireland, every time you mention Tayto it makes me smile!
Instead of thinking this as time off, or time away from work. We should be “clocking in” to few hours of learning about our selves loving ourselves ❤️I was really dishearted being a workaholic but it’s a different kind of work now ✨
The Rob look is really working for you. It’s understated and simple, but very beautiful. Also, my best friend has to move due to being laid off, and there was some good inspiration on things I can do to cheer her up and be supportive of her. Thanks for the kindness and thoughtful content. 💜
Hello Ingrid! Greetings from the UK, from someone you met a looooonggg time ago! I am looking after my neighbour who is vulnerable at the moment and that is good for my soul, as well as hopefully providing some comfort for her hopefully. As for past versions of yourself, I remember the 2009 version in Manchester, and you were very cool (a one off you undoubtedly were and I think you enjoyed my company too) so keep on showing yourself some love! It's been a long time but it's still great to see you doing well - stay safe. Sam
loved this!! Thank you for showing the highs and the lows. getting low-key annoyed with hyper-productivity posts in a time like this. Also, love that eyeliner on you!
I am rearranging my room to create more space for positive energy to come through. I recently did a decluttering of my life so I’m continuing to follow through home
Watching this video was an act of self love for me too. It brought me back to teen me learning makeup from you 💓 also the fact that you use pretty much the same products brought me a strange sense of comfort ❤️
Ingrid I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this Covid-19 outbreak and God bless you and be safe and healthy. Love you, Matthew Carrubba from Oklahoma
Just embrace that I have nothing to productive to do and find new creative non-productive ways to spend my days (I lost my job recently and had to move back in with my parents). Alsoooo as here in the southern hemesphere we are going into fall, yesterday my mom and I had a cup of you chai hot chocolate! ☕️💛
Your video was so inspiring! For my act of self love today and during this time is allowing myself to grieve. Whether that be of a family member, not being able to see friends, etc. allowing that grace period.
I polished my toe nails today...later on did yoga and went into a child's pose thinking about destroying the new coat of nail polish on my toe nails. And at that moment I allowed myself to not care about that and be present in that pose honoring my body and spirit. And of course I fixed my nail polish later on 😁 it felt very liberating 🙏 hope everyone can make little steps like this and honor themselves!
What a great way to think about self love, it's very easy to talk about self love but actually doing it is much harder, however, thinking about it this way feels more natural and easier so this was really helpful. :)

Aww Ingrid!! Loved this video! Inspiring to see you slow down, listen to yourself and honor your feelings. Btw, I am so not a fan of Zoe Kravitz' acting but I am going to give that show a shot :)) Much love. Stay safe xoxo
My skin has been SUCH a mess through all of this. I'm in Atlanta, GA and today is day 22 of staying home and I've wondered if it was stress making my skin so wonky.
Hi Ingrid, new subscriber here! Love your videos and how candid you are, you inspired me to open up more in my videos. Thanks for the beautiful content you make x
Amazing video Ingrid as always! Have you ever watched The Bold Type on Freeform? It's a great tv show I think you'd love about women empowering women and it's based in NYC!

kyra williams love that!

Thank you! You too
Miss Roma thank you!
Angelina thank you!!
JustJosh same to you friend!! 💗
I just love you, Ingrid. I've been with you since day 1. You inspire me much! You are my friend in my head :))
I really love when you explain patterns and behaviours that you learn about about your self and then share examples, using your own experiences
whitney hill I had the same thoughts too. Hope you are well! 🥰💗
This time is so emotionally draining, but I wake up everyday and try to get in a good headspace. We just have to make it through this day. 🥰
Love this!

I love how honest and open this was. It really felt like I was spending time with a friend. Sending lots of love your way ✨💕
Allowing myself to not feel okay and exploring those feelings through journaling and talking with my roommate. That was my self love today
I've been loving slow mornings where I do yoga and then drink my coffee while doing some reflecting and journaling. It just starts my day off right :)
I love that you said that meeting yourself where you are right now in this moment is self-love. It's truly in the little ways and in moments that we have opportunities to know who we are. Loved this, thank you! x

I hope you have a great weekend Ingrid!! We could all use some self-love during this tough time, though all of us are in this together!! 🤍🤍

I'm so sorry you're going through that in an already trying time 💜 Sending you love and peace of mind.
My self care bit: rereading some old western philosophy pieces has been surprisingly very soothing these days.
I just was broken up with/rejected over issues that I was being too baity and instigating fights and insecure. I was starting to make positive steps, but it was too late. This week I have started exercising outside more to help my happiness as well as being more gentle on myself.

Your videos have been so delightful to watch during this time, thank uuuu Ingrid 💐♥️
Loved this video. I really like seeing other people going through this quarantine thing and being kind to themselves.
Oh my gosh, I remember following your Aria from Pretty Little Liars tutorial and LOVING it.
Miss you Ingrid! 🥺🔥💛 Needing the self love especially today

Love you Ingrid! I think we’re all feeling a little moody right now and that’s okay 💜🥰
I was out for a long walk, alone. The sun was shining and the sky was bright blue. I build a gardenhouse, with My boyfriend. Pure love for me 😍
Such a calming video I needed this
Oh I’ve missed you with longer hair! You look lovely either way, Ingrid 😊
one of your best videos to watch
I’m loving the longer hair!!!
❤
I loved this vlog! Feeling very inspired!
I like your voice so much, very pleasant and encouraging. Thanks.
