Come speed with us around the N of Costa Rica in this weeks unfiltered vid. What’s an essential item you take on every adventure?

Glad to see you got a motor you like now, it just looks awfully big for a 15hp. Just be sure to keep up the maintenance, American motors can be finicky ... but not nearly as bad a German stuff!
WOW.... so man clippers! What a treat to see all that, TY for sharing all that. re; CAULKING and anything else; get everything done you can in Mexico. Everything in the States (except gas) is stupidly expensive now. No joke.
Great reminder of how HOT the tropics are when you can go outside at night in 25knots wind and ENJOY getting rained on! You will reminisce about that in Alaska... fondly rather than bitterly, I hope....
Oh, and if they ever do catch you like that, never cover up with your hands. Some punk will always accuse you of playing with yourself. Instead, use your hands to communicate in that universal way that lets them know just what you think of them.

One item on every (sailing) adventure? EPIRB. And Bonine (anti-nausea) in case the sea state gets sporty. Call that 1+1.

Using the kill cord. Massive upfist for that. If either one of you forgets, the other has my permission to slap them with a live octopus. Remember, that lovely not moving when you let go of the twist grip will guarantee that if you fell out, without the kill cord, the boat will circle round exactly to run over you. Stay safe guys! 😊

You guys have been an inspiration to me and my wife who are now planning on pursuing this life and just told my parents today. Naturally, they think we are pretty crazy being from Nebraska and even asked questions that made me stress a bit as I didnt have an answer to them. Like "what are you going to do after all this". Your intro here helped me ground myself in my decision even more. We will be making a channel soon!

I always loved your electric outboard. I am still looking for one like that as I am not a fan of running my little (14'4") catboat with gas. I liked the silence. I do realize that it is too small to depend on for cruising. At 70 I am not traveling that far from home port.

Watching Zack take that new tender for a rip takes me back so many years to when a 9.9 replaced a 4 hp. I think I was 9 or 10 at the time. BTW take care to keep the motor clamp screws well lubricated and operable through the full range of motion. They are notorious for seizing and are very dear.

@@TeuluTribe lol should have mentioned the relevant stages, as the impression given was straight out of the rate, and straight to high rpm., which people may be tempted to copy - I've seen too many people doing that anyway a,ong the way, and end up with a very unreliable Outboard - all of mine are presently getting close to 30 years old, and are still functioning reliably, and just need De Winterising. Good to hear it, and Best Wishes. Bob. 👍❤️ eta, I, a tally looking forward to getting a 4 stroke outboard, and my 2 strokes will be spare backups to lend out if people need time to fix problems with theirs, as my spares don't actually take up mu h space- 4 x Tohatsu 3.5 hp, and one Yamaha 4 hp, handy for Tenders. 👍

What I don't like is the lack of a good, certified lock. Everybody will like that outboard!
Also it's good practice to either paint the cover in a totally other color, or at least put a fitting cloth cover over most of it. Two reasons: A lock slows thiefs down, they don't like that, and will look for a easier target. A dodgy repaint and/or an cloth cover disguises the age, and the exact type.
    It's a shame, but necessary.👴🤷‍♂

I was wondering if you two had a pair of night vision binoculars to see other boats around you in an anchorage at night or in a thunderstorm, or even when you are entering a port/marina at night? The technology has come a long way in the past few years, and they are relatively inexpensive compared to the risk of not knowing if another vessel breaks loose in the middle of a storm and is barreling down on your boat.
