Yes! 💯% Morgans, Peace, and pre 1933 gold are some of the most beautiful coins out there. Creativity amd innovation died long ago in America.

@@DR-oy9wc I love the old silver coins and the new eagles they put out. I can't afford the gold coins yet. But someday I'm hoping to get one. Thank you for your comment and please stay tuned.

Modern coins of all kinds since the early 1900s have all been made with a master hub, not hand engraved..
Some of the letters may have been punched in by hand but for the most part and certainly in the past 50+ years everything is made on a master hub therefore, all modern made and reproduced at a high level of speed...
The only coins I were hand made and carved out in the die were the earliest coinage of the US history.
In some cases even back during this period there was a master hub for the portrait..
Lettering was all punched in by hand way back then..

I noticed the tiny lettering but didn't realize the difference. I learned how to carve jewelry out of wax when I was younger, I should have figured it out 🕊️🕊️🕊️

@@Dclxvi6x3 They seem to be a deeper impression on the hand tool coins. Thank you for your comment. I believe they look a lot better but the CNC is phenomenal on what they can do with that

Lovely hand crafted coins. I like the others too. Some of those I've never seen before. Thanks for the video.

The dies for US coins have never been completed hand engraved ever (at least in the last 200 years since pre-colonial coins were more varied and the first few coins minted at the beginning of the countries existence were not as standardized either). In pervious designs before CAD (and even now still to get a physical representation) a plaster was made and that was hand engraved. This is the only process really affected by CAD and it's still an artist just like always making the design. It's just a medium of how it's designed, not that our quality or artistry is worse. "Hand crafted" has no real impact on what makes them special or have more value. That is entirely a mater of taste which is up to the person, and you see less traditional quarter designs because they are being removed from circulation naturally. No other reason.
To continue explaining the traditional process: from the plaster a galvano replica was then used to make a hub that was machined from a reduction lathe. Pretty much a CNC machine of the day, except we can directly machine the hub now instead of having to reduce the image from the galvano. Hubs were and still are cleaned up by hand to remove the machining lines (present on both reduction lathe and CNC made hubs) so that hasn't changed.
The only other possible difference where hubs and dies might have been hand stamped, and aren't now, were the dates and the mint mark. However, dates haven't been hand stamped into dies for about 100 years and mint marks for about 40 years now.
