John struggling with lifting the offcuts onto the roof rack is most wholesome content so far. This man builds some of the most epic tables etc but lifting 10-13 sticks 6 foot high stumped him 😅
its the camera man, i swear its the camera. im not a big dude but i have no issue lifting 100kg, (thats 220lbs in freedom unit ). but the other day I was moving some fire logs around and my wife decided to film me, I was struuuuuggling to get a proper hold onto a simple log that's no more than 70kg. the thing became so awkward to hold, branch stumps were poking me no matter how I rotated it.
it was the camera man.
They say, camera adds 20 units of fat to tour fingers, or sumthin.
19 and 17/16th???? I think that’s 20 and 1/16th.
Joke flew right over your head😂
10:10…. 19” 17/16…. That’s a good tape measure haha
I heard that, I’m like wait, what?🤣🤣🤣🤣
I even replayed it. lol
Let's just readjust it to what it should have been 231/16ths
@@cdca1973 me too
@@chrissedlock769 roflmfao
I'm an ironworker with absolutely no carpentry skills and all of my tools are far too large to be used for home improvement, but I stumbled upon one of your tool comparison videos and now can't seem to stop binging your entire channel. Thank you for the great content
Love the tape measure part at 10:12 in the video John says 19 17/16, he must of meant 20 1/16th 😂
This is a constant problem with imperial measurement because you don’t actually measure the inches you measure the fraction of the inch away from the inch. So which direction you read your fraction matters which way you have to keep pointed and it throws you off all the freaking time
i think it might have been 19 15/16 by where it looks to me anyways
@Eric Swenson I'll just stick with mm
Tape measures have built in widths for inside measurements. Just a fellow tradesman that likes to share knowledge to my neighbors! Good stuff! Keep up the good work brother
Yup. They have the width right there on them, just add it.
Dang didnt read this before I left my comment. Glad to see someone else know how to use a tape lmao
That's what I was going to say. I was wondering if it was just a British thing?
it's always some stupid shit like 3 & 9/16"s.... I just use the measure 6" from one side draw a line, measure from the other side to that line, add 6" method. Keeps the math simple while I'm trying not to write things down.
That's also why the clip on the end of the tape is all wiggly/loose. To account for the width of it while doing outside/inside measurements.
The robo-knee pads were definitely cool. I hate doing flooring, but if I ever do redo our floors, that $400 bucks might be worth still having operable knees when I'm done. 🤣
Almost instantly bought the pressure washer...then realized I was only interested as a better way to wash cars...then realized I don't actually like doing that and at $192 I could take my truck to the $3 wash every 2 weeks for 2 years before that tool was worth the money.
A pressure washer that doesn't have enough pressure is an excellent way to use up storage space though!
oddly the low pressure was part of what tempted me having a good way to clean hay balers and mowers without getting water forced into the bearings is always a challenge so portable and using the same batteries as we use in the shop was tempting i am going to see if a deal pops up in the late fall with a battery (best way to get extra batteries with when they come with a tool attached to them) picked up a 60v dewalt pole saw that way for a little over the cost of 9ah flex volt battery
Those cordless pressure washers are a happier medium between his pressure and electric pressure washer. Definitely doesn't replace my gas pressure washer but does much better the the hose alone cleaning my ATV after a good weekend or my mower.
I feel like you need to contact Simple Strap and get squirrels printed on them for all the squrrelly stuff that is about to happen!
I agree, the last one looks cheap and it doesn't do anything you can't already do with a regular tape measure. If you want an internal measurement, just add the size of tape measure to the reading, it's usually print on the body of the tape measure. Or if you want to be more accurate, mark off e.g. 1ft then measure to that mark from the opposite side and add 1ft to the measurement.
Came to the comments to say the same thing
Yea I’m aware. But requires math and math is hard !
@@John_Malecki your hard
@@jacobswedberg1402 *you're, but grammar is hard too😂✌☮
I was also thinking about that little readout window- it looks like the line isn't that close to the actual tape, which would lead to inaccurate readings if you don't look at it dead on.
19 and 17/16 great tape
i just thought that! thats 20 1/16 surely. dont trust it
I have the dewalt pressure washer, it works perfect for washing mud off my ATV after a ride. The larger angle tips are useless, I only use the turbo and the 15. It's definitely not a replacement for a gas pressure washer but it has its uses. It works best with the 60v battery, I will go thru multiple 20V's washing mud of ATV.
I think these are great videos, IMHO, the dewalt pressure cleaner is worthless.
I think for mountain biking it’s pretty good, portable and has enough power to clean the bikes after a good day of riding
I was on a job site where a tile guy had a rig similar to the one you just reviewed. He wished it had been around 20 years ago. He would scoot over and get more tile. The thing that was cool about his was the knee pads strapped ro his legs and he could stand up and then go right back down. Oh and of course I want to see more. Build something from paper sale blade. Lol. Love your channel John. Keep it going
Imagine going to a gay sauna with those!
I love these segments! You have tried a few tools I have been thinking about buying and after I see you test it, I know it was a go or a no! Do more of these please!
The simple strap looks very similar to High Traction Safety Tape (3M QuickWrap to be specific). It’s used when working at height, usually overhead of other people. I bought 2 rolls when I learned I had a job coming up where I’d be working on a stadium catwalk... I’ve found tons of random uses for it since that job a few years ago. That said, I would NOT trust it to replace a Ratchet Strap.
Haha, love your videos, and a life long 40+ years Steelers fan!!!!
Never comment but….. the 40 of Old “E” caught my eye in that half second and had me cracking up!!! Haven’t thought of that bottle since high school days!!!
Still laughing
not a criticism, but the hose connecting the power washer is being sucked in, this is reducing the flow to the pump unit I suspect with a higher quality hose it would get a better flow.
Great vids tho :) :)
It must be a total blast working with you. Crazy works so well!
Glue all your cutoffs together and make a butcher block style table 😎
I have a Worx cordless pressure washer. Nice thing is you can suck water out of a bucket with it, and I have a foam cannon for it. Bad thing is it’s suuuuuuper low volume compared to a real one. So that’s why it seems less powerful.
Can't believe the strap worked like a strap. Truly impressive.
Bring back Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert!!!
You went all out on the Diamond Back accessories! I hadn’t seen the finished rack system yet. I only seen the prototype Matt’s truck at the factory.
hey john that pressure washer can be used with a siphon hose into a bucket of water or barrel for pressure washing where you cant get a hose too
I know it’s an older video but your edit ins crack me up. “Roll out”
Great video. Some interesting/cool stuff. April Wilkerson has some videos where she uses some straps like those, whether it’s the same brand or not I’m not sure. Definitely looks like it would be handy for smaller stuff. I love your channel and all of your awesome content.
Hell yes!! Man I'm so glad you all started this video series!! Man I haven't seen anyone else doing this sorta thing. I'm sure there are. I'm just tech illiterate.. lol anyhow great work as always John and Sam, and ....... Dammit...... OMG I can't think of his name!! Wt-absolute-f?? Jordan!! Duh!! Lol. John, Sam, and Jordan!
I think the key with the simple tape is to get the free end under a tension wrap. So, if you're going to end it on the post, get a few wraps around that too, so you have something to grab the end with. Remember with belt tension, every wrap has a exponential effect.
Along with the "awesome" score, it would be cool to have a "does what it claims" score. So the gator tape would get a "does what it says" but not "awesome." The fun would be in collecting those that DON'T do what they say... but still get an awesome.
John just likes the wheely thingy because there was a spot designed to cradle the balls.
Speaking of John. Where do I get one?
At 7:52 I was laughing so hard. Pretty much defines me everytime I buy a new tool.
Simple strap reminds me of bicycle innertubes. I do the same thing with bundles of 1" PVC and lash it with cut up stipes. Bike shops will give you flats they've changed for free, you just cut them and split them open. Works really well.
The main selling point seems to be that you can cut it. But that almost makes it disposable which is not something you want if you're doing a lot of hauling. Also flexible materials are often very susceptible to uv and weather damage so don't leave it on your truck unguarded. Definitely not a useful as cloth tie downs or rubber straps that are usually thicker and therefore will last longer in the weather.
That kneel it thing looks like a decent replacement for a rolling stool for working under cars in a shop with low ceiling clearance as well. But, only if you do it a lot, because rolling stools are much cheaper.
Yea it’s more for flooring
@@John_Malecki I agree. I just could see myself using it under a car, because the ergonomics and range of movement seem better than seated on a rolling stool.
Bought the kneel-it for my dishwasher to work on me, best money ever spent!
Quick sidenote. That "quick release-thing" on the powerwasher-thing looks like the standard we use in europe. Very convenient! :)
The Gator tape is really good for people with low vision and their finger strength isn't all that great. I have trouble with locking all my tapes as my thumb and finger strength isn't good but the gatortqpe keeps it locked until I need it released then it is easy to release. The green on black is easier to read and the print is easier to read. So it is good for that purpose.
10:11 "19 and 17/16" 😂
@9:12 You channeled your inner "Money Pit" Tom Hanks voice there!
2nd video, and subbed and liked....funny guy...with a mess of common sense and real work experience it would seem. Refreshing as hell these days....thanks!
My uncle uses his dewalt pressure washer on his boat. He just puts the suction tube in the lake and uses lake water to clean his boat. Perfect application for a small pressure washer.
Gotta do what works
Free tip from a contractor, but tying down lightweight stuff save pieces of trim or smaller trim boards take the handheld stretch wrap stretched around a couple times and then take a single wrap of duct tape holds everything really well and is very easy and cheap
The editing with the references are gold! Got a new subscriber
Any tape that can measure "like, 19 and 17/16ths" has my vote 😊
You have no idea how many times I restarted the beginning of this video lmfao
About pressure washing, use a chemical cleaner like bleach for concrete or soap for exterior walls, degreaser etc. You won’t need as much pressure to remove the dirt/grime after treating it, and you’ll get a more uniform result.
love these tiktok videos!
my 3 year old daughter looked at this thumbnail and said "BLIPPI!"
That was really cool… the tie straps might be an insta buy… great video
Every tape measure does inside measurement there’s the amount you have to add to account for the tapes body length written on it
If you want to keep light things together: cellophane wrap 'em.
Good solution!
Nah, cause right when you started the part with the gator tape i got an ad for gator tape 😂😂😂
Remember when John Malecki made original shop content? I bet Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The diamond back truck bed cover. Also built in PA. Ive been there to work on their machines before. Great bed covers.
Love you kneel it. Great for large area rooms
As somebody who just replaced my floors last week, 400 bucks is steep, but that "everybody scoot now" fkn sent me dude. 😂
I don’t think John knows what donuts are. I can tell you from experience those trucks will do true donuts.
that wheel thing I would totally use at work. I build shipping boxes and I put them together on the floor.
Movie references were A+ in this video!! 🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍
The Dewalt pressure washer sounds easy and convenient. Looks like it will be easy to use to clean cars and RVs!!!
I'm just not seeing when you would have access to a water hose but not an electric outlet.
A regular electric power washer seem like a better choice.
A 5 dollar plastic hose nozzle would do a better job
“19 17/16” which is pretty cool” 😂
I got a worx cordless pressure washer, adding a hose I notice its just pinched hose pressure. Adding the power doesn't do much. It is convenient to have it with the hose for a bucket of water.
That knee floor thing would be awesome for doing floor tileing
It’s got to be my favourite segment great for a laugh thanks.
I use the hell out of the dewalt 20v pressure washer at work for cleaning condenser coils and it works wonders. Strong enough to clean yet not too strong to damage the coil fins.
I love the idea of this video. Awesome job!
You're usually cleaning newly made slabs/cookies with a hose. Should be quicker with the added pressure.
It is strange to see John kneeling and riding. R2D2 mode on ;)
So I have the worx's version of the pressure washer and it is only like 300 or 400 psi. It is for cleaning patio furniture, boats and small stuff like that. It is nice for small jobs and quick stuff I don't want the big pressure washer for
Excited that I found a fellow Yinzer on UA-cam that puts out quality content other than Pittsburgh dad 😂
John we need you to try the Tianli router (handheld Mortiser). I’d seen them selling for $30. (And up to $200) little gadget Turns a palm router into a festool domino. Or, a plantorouter.
I was close. Really close to ordering and waiting however long to try it out. However it doesn’t fit my Dewalt palm router. (The one you have in videos) But if you happen to have a Bosch or whatever other router, it could happen. Interesting product.
The step brothers edit has me dying 😭
That orange strap is just a huge tourniquet. I tie almost the same way when starting ivs or drawing blood
I feel like that tape is the same as the kneel it thing, if its something you do a lot/as a trade its probably a killer item. I could see window installers loving that thing.
As a professional flooring installer, that's a super cheap roller kneepad and can lead to a pulled groin. The Rac-A-Tac is a much better design.
Yay the new “wranglerstar!” 😔
I thought that Platinum you was just driving was the shop truck lol.
Interesting?? It's always good to see a new video John and the boys. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. Stay Squirrely. God bless
Nice diamond back!! Just got one for my truck a couple months ago
you do know that normal tape mesure has writen on it how long it is, so when measuring interior of something just add the value to waht the tape says, its usually 60 mm
Yes I’m aware. Don’t think this tool is tho hahah
That rubber strap is like a giant version of a blood draw rubber band
The simple strap is literally just a giant tourniquet.
I laughed pretty hard at "19-17/16" as a measurement
the first video is how i finish the excess on my ratchet straps.. i always tie up the end then wrap and tuck, so it's basically a worse version of a ratchet strap
That dewaltbwashers the perfect thing to hand the new guy at the end of the day to clean up the sight
Now start a liquidation company and do a pallet unboxing from the retailers
I need one of those kneel it’s for my bedroom to help out my lady friends lmfao 😂😂😂
“29 & 17/16” hire kidding right lmfao
19 and 17/16ths. F*cking amazing!! 😂
Thanks for the info John! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
All these tools are legit. I have doubles of all of them. Best 20 bucks I've ever spent
Well he can safely say, that he still hasn't done any doughnuts in that truck.
“I don’t think it went anywhere”… true but “I don’t think that in any universe, that could be called a Donut 🍩” 😂
How are those straps different from Rope?
They are meant to be quicker to strap down and then undo, and because its rubber, it has more friction to help keep things in place.
I guess because of the material it's made out of to have way more resistance against itself than rope, I understand your question tho, rope you would have to have more of it and tie it completely and not just tuck it. The wrap kinda sticks to itself in a way
19 17/16" 😂🤣😂
This is why I haven't gone down the tic toc rabbit hole.
I lost it when he said 19 and 17/16 lmao
For the tape measure, most tape measures have their length front to back written on them for interior measurements.
Most good tape measures actually have a measurement on the body so when you pull the tape out completely and butt the body of the tape measure on the surface, you just add that measurement on top the tape measurement to get the full dimension. 🙂
That little battery pressure washer would be great for a camper or a boat.
