Storytelling is ALL about understanding the subject. Especially when you’re selling. :)
I really enjoy Seth Godin.
To clear up one point: he meant that doctors resisted washing their hands *before* delivering babies, at one time.
Love this man and his insight
LovedHappy I can relate! Soo powerful!
have to agree,,, observing him evolve into the new world and helping others view things from his POV,,, is Golden!
Bless Seth Godin 🙏🏻 Thanks for this great interview!

Excellent interview! Thank you for sharing it.
This is so great, I loved his mentality, his is so great, may God Bless him.
I enjoy your thoughts. In my world everyone has to win. A little motto of mine
Talent funnel abilities while Scaling our ideas and as Mr. Godin stated to add value through compassion
Super relevant to me and my entire life at the moment. All the synchronicities are appearing and aligning with what we wish to create and manifest. All Good things.
Very enriching insights! Thank you.
Great vlog, love way you structure your interview
I have read many of his books, seen X amount of youtube vidoes of him but this one sums Seth anno 2016 up.
Kevin By Berge he's amazing with great ideas.
He is one of those people that will make me more successful or destroy me :-)
We never have time to do it right, but always have the time to do it over....hahah love this

I loved his take on Gary V!
This is amazing!
Class act.
The fact that this is from 5 years ago...wow!
I was shook at what he said at 6:30 and had to take another look at when this was posted. Why are those words so relevant today still?
thanks
Nice!
Gold.
Seth GOldIN
Ben Sim agree!!
You are great. I got your name from Glendon Cameron, another you-tuber....
great video!
Michael Miller agree! Brilliant man
What a wise man
Really?
Yet another time I have watched and enjoyed a Seth Godin video. However, I now understand him from a much broader viewpoint. To state that no one is, nor has been an authentic person in the societies born of our present day illuminates my understanding of Mr. Godin. To be born and cultivated into our world through the culture in which he has been is both, quite the privileged luxury and the ideological dream mentality a vast majority of our future population can only dream to be a part of.
I fully comprehend your concept good sir but I am, and I've known quite a few who also are, quite authentic. If you'd ever like to meet someone who's authentic... I'm sure you May once again, as I'm sure you have a numerable times, elevate yourself just a bit more tomorrow than you are today. Comprehending your points of view as opposed to realizing situational dichotomies as they exist when they occuris truly the mark of an authentic man as opposed to a society bread.. ahh I can't think of the word..
Okay yeah cynic as you currently find your viewpoint centered completely in.
It would be nice to see that you're that through, and go back when new comments are made, to old videos of yours and then respond. For as I am learning a lot from you in your videos I still am in the present state quite authentic and have to reflect in order to go through this transformation of being more of a participant in our society than just a human within it.
It would be great to get the story on how Seth started his permission marketing before people knew he existed. Presumably you have to start your permission based marketing by actually interrupting someone and asking them if they will give you permission. Does that sound right?
Seth addresses this in other interviews and blogs, i think he covers it in his Permission Marketing book as well. When you first start out you give it away (to 10 friends or some people you know). Your first book, or your ideas, or something--just give it away. If it's great, people will share it, and this is what starts your momentum. If it's great, they come to your website, look you up, sign up for your email (the permission piece). If nobody shares, reformulate your ideas and try again. The concept is about generosity, you don't ask or interrupt you just put yourself out there without needing anything in return.
I think it is a fine art of asking permission. But I get what Draw In Customers' point, that in a lot of cases, marketers are blatantly bombarding people with permission requests to send them daily or weekly email notifications about new posts etc, with the annoying pop-ups. This pop-up should only appear once and if a device opens that website again, then there should be no pop-ups, because the server can identify this device via cookies. This way the permission based marketing can be implemented more gracefully and without creating annoyances.
I'm more curious of the fact that he created a website for his marketing initiative before the world wide web...I am a bit tech naive, but still
At 14:05 he nails it. With more and more people working from in this new era of Covid-business ... he spoke this 4 years earlier. By the way how long before this civil war in America comes to an End ?
I suppose that would depend on to whom you're addressing your civil war quandary;
The majority of America's population is not, nor ever has been participating in their staged idea of US A'll having a civil war.
Over time and due to their highly staged activities however, that has not been the narrative for some who have bought into it hook line and sinker.
Remember Covid/SARS Covid is not new. It has always been around. What is new is this idea to use it to control the masses.
Superb! It is the most wholistic and philosophical approach to Marketing! Did I just say Marketing and philosophical in a same sentence! SETH GODIN made me say that. Wow!
❤
Based on my personal experiences, the writings of incorruptible wise intellectuals and the eternal wisdom of theology, I dedicate my time, mental and physical energies to the development of my vocational talents in the creation of the Utopian brave new world/ Christian Anarchy is the solution/ Christian Anarchy precedes natural human evolution/
"I don't think you need a method. I just think you need to care.'
Who would love to see a few hours long conversation between Jordan Peterson and Seth Godin? That would be so awesome.
I would. Definitely!
It would be interesting no doubt, I much prefer seths tone and way of humility above Jordan Petersons.
Hm... good, but I was taught the "Doctor's Plague" or the "Black death of child bed" that he is referring to related to the death of women during child birth, not the death of children.
Doesn't change the point he's making.
5:36 -- I don't think you need the method. I think you just need to care.
Seth and Gary Vee seem to have a d/l crush on each other
13:11 Commented because had to leave the video and is to remember where I left.
"Culture beats the truth."
to it's detriment ...
@@abelzoni2138 mhmm. It sucks. Trump is a breathing example of it.
@@AntKneeLeafEllipse
Odd example.
@@abelzoni2138 I don't think so. He can say one thing, lie about it later, and the people from the culture he leads don't care. First thing I thought of.
@@AntKneeLeafEllipse
I guess thats true. There are some people that no matter what happens .... Trump is their first thought.
My first thought was was about cultures that are anti vaccine such as Pakistan and polio. How the truth that the polio vaccine is effective and how portions of that culture resist, leading to horrible results.
Someone said Gary Vee
Not babies... mothers...mothers died... and no. Not all people who don’t vaccinate are misinformed. Some have spiritual, religious or scientific reasons for the choice. I love Seth and have learned so much from him about marketing AND I disagree with some of his points. Thanks for sharing this... 🙌✨
Right. And it didn't help that I had a dream that I was being forced to get a shot few months before covid
I open 0% of direct marketing emails I get
Dunking a basketball as a talent? Just reps baby
"how important book was Tribes" lol proofread please
Can you please talk just a bit lower. Thank you. Had to turn my volume down...
Sorry about ripping you off... ;)
Who is he talking to? Everyone? North Americans? I can't identify with him. I don't know where he comes from. I think his messages are deliberately mixed and evasive. He speaks in slogans. I prefer Latin.
Seth, please don’t use your enormous influence and personal platform to offer medical advice you’re not actually qualified to give-It’s your opinion only. We do love to hear your opinions on genuine business and marketing, though. That’s where the trust lies.
Like what?
Kerrie, Please don't give philosophical advice you're not actually qualified to give--It's your opinion only.
agreed- it's weird he's so smart but still pushes pro-vax after what we've seen happen. like of all examples why would he say that lmao. hopefully he avoids that topic in the future before someone tampers with their immune system for nothing
Seth is brilliant as a marketer, but ignorant and unqualified on public health matters
in the same breath you said the story is subjective you judged people with perceptions that vaccines are dangerous. and then said we ned to understand each other? questionable.
The courageous amusement alternately pour because piano mostly bow about a sweet education. rough, paltry belgian
Wait so slam dunking a basketball is a talent but heart surgery is a skill?
I strongly disagree that dunking a basketball is a talent...If you train everyday for five years I'm pretty sure you'd be able to do it as well Seth...train your legs and shoot a few basketballs and you'll see. Of course for someone who has never done any kind of sports in his life this is hard to believe...heart surgery is a skill you're right, but having a steady hand is something you're born with.
Snkrfocus , You are right... but he was trying to make a point there...It was not about basketball or sports.
Fighting through All marketers are liars right now. This is probably one of the worst books on Marketing out there. Absolutely terrible to read, extremely repetitive and easily compressed into a 2-page flyer. There are more titles and headlines in this book than noteworthy sentences...an absolute disaster.
