Fear is the root of anger. A great book “Power vs Force” breaks down all the different emotions ... fear and guilt are right at the bottom...

I've also seen sorrow behind fear. But think about it; it would feel better to feel powerful with anger than it does to quake in fear or collapse in sorrow.
It's Gabie this is true ... but Seth (and you) seem to imply that anger or fear may (always) be undesirable or inappropriate... well at times fear is totally appropriate and so is anger ... and there’s a way to manage both with reason so that everyone grows. We do need, in this world, to protect ourselves from dangers that are real and at times to enforce our boundaries. Knowing the difference between a real danger and an illusion ... now that too takes wisdom and practice!

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived;
Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Btw, Tom I've been following your content for looong years and actually see the improvement in my life! I even made it to the USA for the 2019 summer and worked for 3 months! Anyways, we call this theory 'Askıda Ekmek' and it actually helps people in need a lot. Highly suggested. I've been to Istanbul, and I've been particularly impressed with two cases of hospitality and helpfulness:
1) We took a boat ride on the Bosphorus. The next day, we stumbled upon the same boat, while we were walking around the city. The captain waved us to come on the boat, for a free ride.
2) While visiting the modern art museum, a heavy rain completely drowned the parking, cutting off our way out. While we were still looking around, a young couple in a car invited us in, to get us out of the drowned area.
It's been getting more popular here in the UK for around a couple years now... we're referring to it as 'pay it forward'. Nice to see what some of its cultural origins are.
The way the general public treats cats as evident in the documentary type film "Kedi" is a revelation and inspiration how we can ourselves here in our country learn to practice "Catitude". LOVE. Triad Cat Whisperer
Media manipulation is so deeply woven into our behavior and at the root of so many of our problems. We have to make the commitment and exert the discipline to reject it's influence on our lives and choices.
Being able to discern the truth regardless of it's source is one of the greatest things to master.

I purchased Seth's course for freelancers while I was still employed FT. Fast forward to COVID, I'm unemployed and wondering what to do so I pulled out the course and created an LLC. I landed 2 clients and doubled my normal hourly FT employee rate. Nothing will accelerate you confidence like earning independent income. I'm happy to answer any questions if I can help you and your situation.
Im an IT professional. My hourly rate is 140$/h.
Im confident in my experience and capacity, but i remain an employee at 70k/year.
I do not feel to do what you did because i have a 750$/mo mortgage and a young son (4yrs old). Im 40.
I feel i cannot risk, any advice?

here's my problem, no money. so practice is nice, when I can sustain doing it. which I can't. (no money) my problem is, no money. I used to volunteer in my profession, because I love my profession. but then I realized, I ran out of money. had to stop doing that line of work. I need to get paid. (I need the output)

If no one is content to work as a janitor, we will have filthy bathrooms. Trying to push people and lie to them so they think they can literally do anything is delusional. It creates lifelong dissatisfaction for those that never quite live up to their ideals. Life can be meaningful in every day matters. The joy of a baby's laugh. The sound of the crickets. Holding the hand of the person you love.

Indeed! In fact, I believe all great inspiration starts here. Until we can be content with ourselves, we'll never find it anywhere else. Paradoxically, once we realize we have everything we need, that's when the true gifts can start flowing.
I simply love these two men, their discussion is like the chatter in the brain, Tom is the analytical the hard working the checking all the facts and asking all the right questions, and seth is the emotional, the connected, the person in the flow :)

2016 to 2019 I went from suicidal to loving myself more than ever and my relationships and quality of life has turned into sheer bliss.
2020 was a joke for me. I breezed through 2020 and had the most successful financial year in 2020.

Read Pressfield's "The War of Art", for more of this type of wisdom.
I will be devil's advocate. Bach however was a privileged white European man. It's different biologically to pursue creativity and fulfillment under constant stress from survival due to inequality. It is a scientific fact and simple human brain function.

Thank you so much for this. It was the exact inspiration I needed to hear- and in fact I’ll be creating a response to this video. I’ll name it, “Examining the exam: performance has driven us away from our humanity. Constructs aren’t responsible: we are.”
The fun thing is I’m fortunate enough to have a professor in university who is receptive enough to alternative methods of assessments for my final exam in modern political thought- to which I am grateful as it appears I’ll be calling into scrutiny methods of traditional education systems as being harmful/self-limiting and how this has stagnated society at large from being innovative and accepting of counter cultures/creativity or in voicing opinions outside from the status quo. (Which I’ve found has resonated with me as a response to this video)
My plan is to bring attention to this video, add personal story, contextualize with some interesting academic papers and will ultimately focus on developing community as a solution to tackle mental health (among other social problems found at the margins) in Canada.
As far as my own university campus (Ottawa)- there has been attention in recent years as suicides have jumped and an institutional response is not enough. Disconnect and crumbling under pressure will only exacerbate in light of covid-19. Being rated by overseeing/institutional structures has had adverse rippling and undesired effects. It’s been an ongoing problem- now in light of covid I’m compelled to speak out in solidarity for many who I’m sure feel alone or voiceless at this time. I think we for some time have sorely needed highlighting to the value of unconventional education, how we establish acceptable contributions to society and tie this into self-worth (and this imposter syndrome). Im excited to show how post-structural thinking can help us as a society move forward in understanding ourselves, how we self-regulate and how we continue to oversee/be overseen and thus stuck creatively. It is precisely our own limited thinking in response to social constructs in our own mind that make revolutionary change impossible and has to a degree kept us separated/prevented our collective action in addressing societal problems (or even looking to government as the sole organizations possibly capable of addressing them- when each person, those in private/public/voluntary sectors or civil society-in fact can) . The papers that I’ll propose will be keys to better understanding and will present how counterculture and generosity will help us move in a direction that is constructively forward and together (compared to a polarized society that the media continues to propagate). If you’ve read this far, just know it’s appreciated. Again, thank you for providing me an ounce of inspiration ;) I hope you’ll enjoy what I put out shortly. (Even though I’ll be going out on a limb to a degree haha)

My dad put me in boy scouts 32 years ago and made sure I was learning and participating.. I made a fire yesterday in the mtns. 2.6 miles away from noise, got lost snowboarding back down .. opened my trail map and got back on the trail , 50 yards off trail in waist high snow sun going down but I knew what it was I had to do to stay calm and focused. I am grateful for survival skills! I could care less about selling out. Or buying into the consumer system that is everywhere.

We could say the same about all parents in the world: Dad, if you wanted me to be free why didn't you teach me about basic survival skills from a young age? The answer, I guess, is they don't have a cloue neither. We must teach ourselves.
