I really hope the man who groomed him and abused him gets called out, and serves time..
Who?!
Yeah. Everyone talking about the stalker. She's bad. Yes. But there's a celeb out there abusing vulnerable people to this day. I hope he gets exposed.
Wait you mean Fiona??
@@eden20111 They mean "Darrien".
Yeah it is so interesting that the public has mobbed Martha but hasn't exposed the serial rapist?
Amazing how this guy can make a good show of such a traumatic experience.
Real
Yeah man, that episode 4. I have no clue how someone could do that and pretty much relieve something like that
@@jamiedejesus
Part of the healing process. It may not make sense…but how many of us ever make complete sense?
I just love how he plays himself and confidently relives all this.
I feel like it must have been a form of therapy for him, all of the experiences he’s gone through the trauma will stay with him so working through it must help bring comfort if not understanding 🥺
I agree. When I found out he was the real guy, I told my wife to imagine how hard it was for him to relive all those emotions.
This guy is so brave to relive through all of the horrible stuff he went through. Honestly deserves so much.
It's super brave
He's an exhibitionist, what would you expect?
Ok wtf I was today years old when I realised he is actually the guy he’s portraying in Baby Reindeer. Damn that changes perspective for me. Mad respect to Richard Gadd. You deserve every success in life, but more importantly you deserve to have full peace of mind after everything you’ve been through. You’ve inspired many.
Rewatch it!:)
It’s sad to see you have a male first name I thought only women were saying he is brave he isn’t brave he’s pathetic
What had he been through? We don't know because it's only based on a true story. Maybe none of it is true

This man is so brave and I have so much respect for him. So true about masculinity. My great Uncle served ww2. Medal of bravery. Did one tour then entertained the troops as a drag queen. I am sure he had both male and female mannerisms but did not matter in thick of battle. We are human first before gender or we should be. To any men out there that were abused your story is believed whether you wish to share it or not. ❤
@@chris137946Talking about it is how you heal from it.
We are all here for you! Your rock amd have a great life, friend! You deserve it!
The fact that male sa victims have reported 80% more since this show just shows how speaking up and representation means the world ❤❤❤
How is this video not everywhere with a billion likes? WOW What a gift he is giving
because he’s a whiny little twink
Wow! Brilliant. “Sometimes the thought of something can be scarier than the thing itself”. That hits home on so many levels to many of us I am sure.
He is so brave speaking about it to the world . I hope it helps everyone feel braver that one day they can talk about it too
Can't believe this really happened 😢 wow!
And it’s 100% his fault
(Gay, dates trans prostitutes, leads a fatty on)
The breakdown didn't happen
@@Inbraneinthememsane so your saying that the rape is his fault? that the stalking is his fault?
congrats victim-blaming i guess.
It’s so interesting to hear what the abuse does to us. For you, you feel like it forced you to be the feminine character whereas I was raped so many times being feminine was unsafe so I became very very masculine. I felt like a man in my body, trying to protect The female that kept getting targeted for being her.
Thank you for telling your story.
Thank you for sharing your experience ❤
Wow I’ve never been able to express it in words
BTW this is NOT a breakdown on stage…it’s from his play Monkey See, Monkey Do. Enjoy this while it’s here as he is removing these clips due to copyright…
Oh waht really
@@alexb1312I think he’s spoken out about how he wants the real life stuff to stay private. Unfortunately for him, people who watched the show went far and wide as to try and find out exactly who the real life individuals featured in the show were, and they’ve succeeded for some. Makes sense why he’d try to get these videos taken down in order to avoid further drama on these individuals, especially if he mentioned their names in videos.
Who's here after watching baby reindeer?
What's Baby Reindeer?
everyone because it was posted after baby reindeer
who isn’t
Literally all of us
Me 😂😂😂😂
As a victim of grooming, I wasn’t expecting this to be a topic touched upon in the show. Nonetheless, I related a lot to what he said in his speech about consciously knowing that you are not the one to blame but still finding reason to do so. Thoughts like “It wasn’t my fault, but I could’ve done this and that to prevent it or stop it”. If the first 3 episodes made me like the show, episode 4 brought up something inside me that made me love it. Beautifully executed; the show deserves its ranking
this is waaaaaaaay better and authentic and his sarcasm was good and funny compared to his other vids and in the movie. It goes to show that being a comedian you cant go in as a cliche and be authentic you
Raw - thank you R G
I remember watching this show (Monkey See, Monkey Do) on Comedy Central years ago. I'd never seen anything like it. It's a shame no recordings of it seem to survive.
I love how he is talking about such a taboo and serious situation and some how made it a comedy.
Wow even on the show he comes across as more relaxed then here.
I think its really for everyone not to veiw this in a parasocial way. This is this mans life. This is increasingly important to respect and not romanticise this mans trauma and play detective on if you can hear marthas laugh in the background. You all need to really reflect if you have sort this video out for anyother reason than showing support or just to watch the real thing to help the events of the show on netflix set in to reality.
"This is increasingly important to respect and not romanticise this mans trauma and play detective on if you can hear marthas laugh in the background." Why not? What gives you thee right to say this? What harm is there in seeing if that's her laugh or not? It's his life and he put it out there for everyone to see

Yes
I totally agree we should show him respect and privacy for what he went through but how is seeking out this video "parasocial"? If anything, being toxically parasocial isn't far off how "Martha" acted...
@@Shockkings0714 It's important to not obsess and pry into other people's lives. You know, like "Martha" did. Remember that he didn't post this himself and he said it when he was in a vulnerable place.
Wow, this is raw.
No pun intended
He's a genius 😎. Love the show
Yes, since getting my story out, my angry monkey brain has calmed down quite a bit just being heard bless you, Richard
all you need to do sometimes is say it... people if you going thru a trauma and feel you need to be silent, dont do it, express it to the world using art, using any tools but express.
I don't agree with the title of this video, specifically, the "mental breakdown" aspect. Richard bravely shared his most vulnerable self. He articulated his regrets, his healing, and coming to terms with his new identity. I don't see this as a man breaking down mentally but healing (catharsis?) by sharing his most vulnerable thoughts. Kudos to him and I think this is something that not only folks suffering from the trauma he experienced, but others who are scared to share, find acceptance for what they consider weaknesses they'll be judged by, can find helpful. Baby Reindeer is a great show on many levels.
Je viens de regarder la série sur Netflix quel histoire de ouf
this guy is the main character makign a movie about being the main character
He is sooo like a young Julian Barratt! That aside, what a brave, amazing talent Richard Gadd is.

Hes very cute with a mustache. Just wanna give this guy a hug and tell him hes enough.

I watched the entire series of the show. Tell me why it’s taken me until this very moment upon discovering this video that I realized he played himself in the show…. 😂
This is not the breakdown video, this is part of his 2016 show "Monkey see, monkey do"
Where can i watch the breakdown video?
@@Moonphoria97 There is no real breakdown. This show that he wrote and performed wouldn't have translated well for the screen, so he combined it and a fictional stage breakdown to help it make a little more sense in the story.
awe
wait.... is this the real moment portrayed in the show?
Wow... I love baby reindeer.
I do too
@@FunnyCallsW 🥰
This is way more impactful and interesting than the dramatized breakdown in Baby Reindeer, I really have no idea why Richard Gadd didn't just repeat it line for line. He's a lot more likable and relatable here.
Plus, it's framed as if it was spur of the moment in the show, but he says here that he was planning to reveal everything about his s.a live beforehand - coz his monkey brain tried to stop him. I understand artistic licence, all that - but this kinda calls into question the framing of everything else in the show for me.
i was thinking the exact same thing
well to be fair everything in the series is exaggerated for audience entertainment, his stalker never sent that amount of emails nor tweets, she never went to prison or even set foot on a court, he already said the show should be seen from an artistic point of view, if he wanted to tell things like they were he would've made a documentary
@@zero.-8011 Ok. Assuming she was never arrested, etc. does none of that ring as disingenuous to you? It's not unusual for shows to start with "This is based on a true story", but this starts with "This is a true story". A "true story" with, apparently, a lot of exaugurated, defamatory material surrounding people who are easy to identify. Like, I shouldn't have to hear a disclaimer in a random interview to conclude "oooh, it's not really "true", like they claim, - it's artsy".
@@JimiVexTV that's a fair point
@@zero.-8011we have no clue if she’d been to jail or court as UKs criminal records aren’t as public (according to articles I read) he also claims that all the numbers of emails presented in the show are true, he claims he received and still has 10s of thousands of emails, it is however odd he doesn’t mention the stalking in the real version of the breakdown

Esse seria o show q ele conta tudo oque aconteceu? Ou apenas ele falando do agressor sexual dele ?? Tem mais shows gravados pelo yt???

Esse não é o vídeo, esse foi um show que ele fez falando sobre isso mas não foi AQUELE show
Isso é parte do show Monkey see, monkey do
is this the correct video that the show mentions? because he does not mention martha at all unlike the show
No, it’s from his one man play, “Monkey See, Monkey Do,” that the Netflix show is based on.
I think he changed it a bit for the show, so that it would fit better with the storyline.
There's always a lost media with Portuguese subtitles
Brazil É foda 😋
Before every one jumps all over this video, there was no real breakdown. This was a show called monkey see monkey do. Later adapted it to the theater show baby reindeer vefore netflix came knocking.
was it not based on true events though?

But wasn’t it based off a true story

He can play joker so well
Absolutely disagree. Joaquin was amazing as Arthur and truly had more hardships than Gadd. He had 0 good in his life, and nobody to turn to.
@@gothgf1177 ofc i was just sayin the behaviour and the situation is slightly smilar
The original is “king of comedy” starring de niro. As a matter of fact, Joker is like a combination of that movie and “taxi driver”, 2 de niro films.
Who knows what is true about the story at this point Gadd admitted that Baby Reindeer was just based on a true story. He also said that he was performing the show before the Netflix series. This is probably just part of that show.
He’s class A human garbage
Man. Richard Gadd is a lot more deadpan and straightface compared to the show.
Sounds the debate culture has reached this video
This isn't the actual breakdown
This is a story about his breakdown, which wasn't captured on camera?
OR IS this the breakdown that he based his one man show about his assault on?
Sleuths are saying that didn't actually happen on stage.
I'm confused but I am impressed at how well theu cast the Ruchard Gadd character in Baby Reindeer.
A very insightful brave speech and an awesome TV.series.
Why did they put "This is a True Story"
Not
"This BASED on a true story"???
Were you a friend of his?
Yes
Is this the real show
I don’t believe so, I think it’s from one of Richard Gadd’s actual performances. I don’t remember seeing this in the show, but admittedly I could be wrong, my memory isn’t always the best 😆
I saw baby reindeer and while it's an exceptional film--- I do think it would be important for the courts/films to fact check.
I don't see any records of Fiona's arrests, no first hand witness accounts or testimonials, and I do think 41000 emails could be embellished.
Based on a true story is one thing- but to declare that everything is 100% true when the people involved say it's not true is a conflict and needs to be rectified with fact.
There are phone/email/voicemail records- why not prove that it is 100% true or not.
More stories are coming out of the woodwork, did you include Muir in her surname when Googling?

Why did he not mention martha at all? You'd think if he was being stalked like he was in the show, he'd have bought it up here surely?

Comedians write a whole show and go to therapy and test it on crowds before stage. Are you really doubting he was abused? This is exactly the way I tell my therapist and one of my friends about this kind of thing.

@@JaseekaRawr Let me correct you. Actually the Roman-Italians that occupied Israel from the jews 1000 years ago calls Israel "Palestina" and that became main part of the fictional history of those Palestinians so called, most of the Palestinian people are land workers from Jordan and Egypt that the Romans put in Israel back then so the jews will cannot return from Europe.
So this is his meltdown, and he doesn't mention Martha that wasn't in the True netflix story. Huh,?
It is not the melt down. It is his live show “monkey see, monkey do”. the video description is deceptive

Hes ill and invented it all, apart from the cheek busting
He still needs healing. Taking on confused sexual feelings after a massive sexual trauma is a very normal trauma response. Hell, after mine I thought becoming a stripper was "taking my power back." That was a long and self-abusive road to walk down, but I finally got real help, and God healed what the world couldn't. That being said, the message that his abuse is somehow excusable because now he has a penchant for trans woman is super concerning. 🤨
And Sam Bain should never work anywhere ever again. Name him, shame him, charge him if possible. Abusers dont stop, they just find new victims.
How does loving a trans person have anything to do with this? You've missed the point entirely. If anything, Teri is a beam of light. She's been through the pain as a trans woman in this shit society. She understands his pain and he rose above her victimhood. That's why he loved her; she was truly loving him for him.
How do you know it was Sam Bain??
I don’t know about this dude

Haaa! Gay
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. Wrong time wrong place buddy. Preach in church. People don't buy into that no more.

Who let the dogs out?
Masculinity is based on testosterone, and it’s actually those with low testosterone and too much estrogen that can’t control their emotions and feel the need to dominate and abuse others in order to achieve a feeling of masculinity.
What an uneducated thing to say.
what the fuck are you on gabrielle
That's scientifically incorrect. And masculinity is made up.
This was hardly like how the show depicts it. Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think the entire story was nearly as bad as the show portrayed. I think he was attention hungry and eventually got it, through exaggeration.
I think he's a liar and embellishing for attention. He needs help.
What a thing to say.
for someone to talk about being assaulted? obviously you have never been in that situation it’s terrifying and he probably uses humor to get over it.
Did you see her tweets? Tweeted 10 years ago.. to him consistently and with the same words, this is also years old. This is all real and men have started coming out with SA significantly more since this came out. Honestly him acting all of that out was one of the bravest things I’ve seen someone do in a long time, it’s not like it made him look good. He was doing drugs and lying and had a weird relationship with her. He admitted it. But it was so real people took something meaningful from it
Because he's a man victim of SA and stalking? bffr
i bet if he was a women your ass wouldn’t be saying this shit
"am I right, ladies? HURR DURR" so totally not fucking funny, the assumption that he can co-opt women's oppression as a gesture of solidary.
He's saying how ridiculous blaming clothing is. Nothing wrong with his comment.
Im must be crazy because Ricard Gaddd seems like a bizarre spin doctor
