I FINALLY got a chance to check this out. Watching this made me feel good. I have almost the same combo; 996tt & 957 turbo S and I don’t EVER want to drive anything else. Well done!
Had a v10 touareg, amazing offroad capability, traded for a range rover classic, and current porsche lineup is a 996tt cab, 997.2tts, and a 991.1gt3rs. Went through 993c2, 996tt, 997.1tt, 997.1gt3. It has been an epic porsche journey for me in the last 10 years! Thank you porsche!
the Cayenne and Carrera - I agree they are the perfect combination! Esp, for a family with a couple of young kids. Great sounding GT3, and great looking cayenne too. We load 4 kayaks on the roof of our Cayenne for family paddles, I pull the Autocross PCA gear trailer with it, and use it to explore on Forest Service Roads in BC, as well as my wife's daily driver. Our 997.1 Carrera has 310,000km, runs great, use it for Autocross, developing an 5 qt oil pan for it, and is my daily driver. SUCH fun on PCA (Canada West Region) driving events - My wife drives the 958.1 Cayenne Turbo and I take the Carrera. I totally agree, they are the best combo!
This really is inspirational. I’m trying to figure out what to do with my trio: 2009 RAV4 limited V6, 2007 Acura TL & 2007 Honda Accord coupe EX-L (the latter two manual)
Loved the video! Thank you. I have an O4 Cayenne S. Even though I live in very flat coastal Georgia, I took mine off-roading on Hutchinson Island (where the Savannah Speed Classic is held annually and sediment from dredging the Savannah River are deposited). I was so surprised how capable it was in mud, sand, and steep hills (what I thought was steep anyway). I never even put it in 4WD.
Had the privilege of seeing both these vehicles in person and let me tell you they are solid I've also had the privilege of seeing the beautiful yellow Porsche that I absolutely loved
Great combo! I own a ‘99 996 factory aero (sadly not a gt3 🙁) and an ‘05 Cayenne turbo. Love them both dearly and have not yet found a better combo for the same exact reasons as described in this vid. 👍👍👍👍
955S and 996.2 GT3! dream cars for Most, truly Amazing Story... 🔥🔥unsurprisingly very Similar to mine. Countless roads and paths not to mention many variations of The Horseless carriage 😉😉My journey led me to Porsches Underappreciated Cream of the Crop: 951 Turbo RS track, MK1 996 C4 RSR street/track, and a MK1 955 TTS for everything else... contrary to many Horseless carriage Enthusiasts....Not All roads Lead to Rome! ; the very special Ones end up in Stuttgart. 🔥🔥🛠🛠⚙️⚙️👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome video / production! We just got into our first Porsche last week. We picked up a Cayenne S 957 (2008). We previously had a 2013 Allroad but it always felt a little crowded once kids and junk got loaded in. That car was totaled in 2020 leaving us with just our 2002 A4 (fwd, cvt). Good on gas, nice looks but not super capable. With our insurance money we picked up a 2002 Excursion 7.3, which has been awesome for lots of reasons. We can go anywhere and have plenty of room. But it’s not always practical.. think going downtown, to a restaurant, or shopping center with mostly compact parking. So we needed another second vehicle to replace the A4, enter the Cayenne! More capable and roomy than the Allroad, and more practical and as capable as the 7.3! We are third owners. I think videos like this highlighting the capabilities really ups the appeal factor on these, and since the pandemic shortage prices and scarcity have both risen. So I’m glad we finally found one that does not look to be abused at all! Now just need to get servicing and make sure mechanically it’s tight. Anyway, I look forward to more videos like this! Seeing the cars / truck in action is very enjoyable!
As a current owner of a 996 c4s and a 957 GTS I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m over in TN, so I enjoy a similar landscape. And I have always “bought the owner” instead of any particular car, love your thoughts on hi-mileage one-owner purchases.
Jason, your 955 build looks mild yet VERY capable as if not much needed to be done. Would be interested seeing a build sheet. From the clips, it also appears you're in the Appalachians? Many thanks. Considering a 955 to haul the 718, but would like offroad capabilities moreso than my X5 MSport (garage queen with street tires) offers. Many thanks from the Hurricane region, Cape Fear area! Great video!
Thanks for watching! Although all Cayennes are capable off-roaders, only the E1 (955/957) has a transfer case with low-range gearing, which many would say makes it more capable than the E2- and current E3-gen Cayennes.
Excellent vidéo ! Where do you find the scoop ram air effect? Looks like the one on the gt3 rs.. Do you have the name of this part or a link where I can find this part ? Many thanks 🙏🏻
Would love to see what that DAS sport roll bar looks like. Is it arctic silver? Looks like a satin finish. Been thinking about painting mine and had not really thought about silver but might be a nice choice.
People ignore the fact that the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg. Are built on the same chassis. The Touareg was once the Vehicle of the year and was designed for Off Roading.

Couldn't agree more. This guy is every bit of Porsche nerd as me and he's spot on. These are the only 2 cars I need in my life. 10/10

Enjoyed seeing the Gen-1 Cayenne going strong after 160K miles! It looks like the 2 cars came as a matched set almost. Good video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
My dream setup
I have a 957 Cayenne. So slept on, easily my favorite SUV I’ve ever owned.
I have a Cayenne Diesel and a 997 GT3, but to add to the variety of driving experiences, I also have a 986 Boxster. Loved your video!
proper towing orientation for a rear engine car, bravo.
What a great video. Thanks for sharing Jason
Glad you enjoyed it! Those Cayenne mods are sweet.
This really is inspirational. I’m trying to figure out what to do with my trio: 2009 RAV4 limited V6, 2007 Acura TL & 2007 Honda Accord coupe EX-L (the latter two manual)

Nice setup, I drive an 08 957gts 6 speed and an 05 997 Launch edition…. Perfect for every need….
Nicely done! Completely agree with the notion of versatility in both of these models. Love them both, and indeed the best 2 car garage IMO.
Thank you, some PCA staff members would love to have both of these in their garages.
You are living my dream!!! One day I will be at that level great video on these two icons
Love the video and ethos.
Thanks for watching, glad you like it!
🏁 Got both, love ‘em. Great video!
Aside from the great storyline the cinematography of this video is amazing great job

Great videos sir. Just picked up 2009 cayenne gts. Love it so far. Have some small issues but hope to get it perfect soon.
996 is always the answer
Very cool. I've got both cars and now I'm missing the trailer
996.1 GT3 is my dream car. You really do have the perfect setup, 955 Cayennes are so capable and infinitely more interesting than any Toyota.

Right on!
996 GT3 = A future icon but I am biased. Those that know, know.
We'd agree!
Excellent choices!

Apologies for not adding one specific highlight...details on the infotainment on the 955, as well. Many thanks!
Fab film just got my dream 2008 GTS cayenne the purfect shape
This is pretty damn cool for what you can do with the two Porsches!
Glad you enjoyed it. thank you for watching.
Awesome video - what's better for off-road and over-landing? 955/957 or 958? Can a Gen 2 keep up with the original?
Thanks for watching! Although all Cayennes are capable off-roaders, only the E1 (955/957) has a transfer case with low-range gearing, which many would say makes it more capable than the E2- and current E3-gen Cayennes.
@@PorscheClubofAmerica ok thank you. I've heard 1st gear is lower in Gen2 and Gen3 Cayennes, does this help? Is it like the Amarok?
Outstanding vid and exactly what I own!! Well and add a Ducati 996 and life is perfect!!
"... i was driving a 4x4 Tacoma...i would never go back. F that truck!"
Laughed out loud 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it
I have both and totally agree!
nice!! glad you enjoyed the video.
Man this is a dream garage if u truly think about it I’d be happy with these 2 possibly throw in a Raptor of any generation just to be greedy
Great video I myself have a Cayman and Gx470
Nice 👍 Be sure too subscribe.
When you put in the Alpine head unit to get the Apple CarPlay, didn’t it mess with the car’s electronics? Would love to see something on that project.
