- This is the sixth episode of my let's play series. I don't have much to show for it other than zero production, little advancement and some hexagonal towers that I don't have time to decorate.
So, yeah, let's forgive me. Let's acknowledge the issue, and let's find a way to move forward.

Early access is over and we're into the full 1.0 release of the game. The full story, all the tiers and milestones are ready for us to explore. Be efficient!
As someone with ADHD, I know what you mean when you say you're easily distracted. Autism, which I also have, makes it so much worse by forcing me to focus on anything except for what I _want_ to focus on. Like right now, typing this out, I want to focus on my own Satisfactory world, but because of the aforementioned disabilities, I somehow can't focus on that and instead focus on stuff like this.
Also, that whoosh you keep hearing is actually a confirmed bug that CoffeStain Studios is working on. It kinda sounds like a bunch of sounds playing at once, but it also sounds like a slowed and pitched down version of the sound the Blade Runners make when you jump while moving.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm finding it very helpful to share openly and hear from others. It's really great.
Someone else mentioned it's something to do with the geyser's sfx. Who knows?! I've narrowed it down to certain areas, as well. It consistently goes off when I run past the same machine on the same side.
i've only autism and my factories are always perfectly aligned.. thank god for the 90 degree belt mode ;)))

I just wanted to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed this whole lets play so far, both the productive and 'non-productive' parts of it. There's nothing wrong with taking your time doing something you enjoy even if it might not be 'progressing' as you planned. I rushed though 1.0 using blueprints and belt spaghetti, and in hindsight realized that I cheated myself out of a lot of my fun (even though I still very much enjoyed it).
I particularly like your awestruck reactions to some of the new features, massive props to going into it blind.
Thank you very much. The genuine enjoyment I get from the game was my main reason I wanted to bury my head in the sand on all the new features. I wanted to organically share that with everyone. I knew other creators would have "ultimate end game" stuff on day one, from their early access, so I figured I'd just enjoy the ride.
I have ADHD and this game definitely triggers the hyperfocus. My early access save is full of undecorated factories with no roofs or walls, so my rule on this save is to cosmetic it up, to get myself to actually finish projects and be happy when I see them again. That's still a work in progress.... 😅
Currently I'm working on a big decorated replacement for my starter factory and it's taking quite a while but it'll be a great hub for me when it's done. It's also getting me to employ my beloved trains for the faraway resources, so that's a win. With my initial depots in place I only had to supplement concrete for all the building. Depots kind of mean I don't need an actual storage mall as much, but I'm making one for the heck of it and will move my depots into it when it's finished.
I can relate. This is my 5th or 6th "new" start series on UA-cam. Last time playing a modded version I had some rules to keep me focused, but at some point I stopped following them and then that guilt piled up. That's why I tried the no rules this time around, but it's just as bad. I need therapy.
@@BEDplaysGAMES Therapy is a good idea, with someone experienced with ADHD. In the meantime know that you're probably judging yourself more harshly than you would judge other people; if you look at yourself as if you're someone else maybe that will help with the guilt. Hopefully this series will bring you more joy and less guilt. Don't be afraid to change the rules if they're too constraining or add a few if they're too loose; the primary thing is if you're enjoying yourself. 1.0 is a perfect time to restart, given the current lack of mods and the moved nodes, and you're making a great start.
The sound you keep hearing is a bug. Something to do with the Geyser sounds triggering from large distances.
It's funny, we are followinh opposite trajectories. I started out pretty focused, and slowed down massively lategame to be building pretty hexagon-train things again.
Honestly, the only metric to see if you are on the right track is if you are having fun playing.
Very true, and I'm having a blast. So I guess I'm winning. I'll probably bounce to progress as fast as possible, before bouncing back...and forth, and back and forth. Maybe I'll land in a happy medium at some point.
My adhd means I get stuck not building. I still manually craft everything except what needs to be assembled. Every building I put down feels “wrong” and trying to build a factory of any size locks me in paralysis.

I can relate to this so hard. You put it into words well, the crippling feeling of...nah, I can't do that.
If you pack the machines together, you can get 8 constructors and I think 10 or 12 smelters (without going vertical). If you add a catwalk to the blueprint, it helps to access the machines (e.g., to switch recipes).

Nice! I just may do that. I'm trying harder to spread out, not go more compact. But on the other hand...it'd be awesome to just have blueprint modules you can throw down wherever...I love it!
Thanks for the video. Looks like they put in some nice decoration additions in 1.0. Haven't really had a good look at them yet, as, in all honesty, decorating isn't really something I enjoy to do. Square box + machines = good enough for government work 🙂 Not pretty, but they work. Looking forward to the next video. Take care.
I get it. I'm leaning towards doing that for a bit just to make some progress. Figure I'll make 3 steps forward for progress, 2 steps back to decorate. Then when I finish the game I can finish decorating or start over. Or hopefully SF+ will be ready then.
Hi there! New to the channel but I'd like to say, don't be so hard on yourself about choosing priorities! Your enjoyment is priority and Cradle is dope, I'd love to see you continue with it. I have 500 hours in the game and never made it past aluminum. There's no pressure to progress, just have fun and build stuff you're proud of. Cheers.
Hey thanks! I'll get back to it for sure, the biggest problem was that going so slow did end up making me have less fun. I want to progress, too! I'll try to find a balance between building stuff up to be cool and actually doing new things.

Ok, thinking about how the somersloops double output, keep that in mind when collecting power slugs
It's broken! I love it. I have like 75 slugs and haven't even done coal power yet.
the alien protein should be used to make DNA canisters instead for the awesome sink. you cet tons of tickets that way. you can also use somersloops in the constructors to make your DNA canisters X4 from the Alien drops.

I really do. I think it's the best for montages. I didn't have enough footage to line up with the crescendos each time, so it sorta fell flat. But the start and end went ok, lol
TIL: I, too, say "ope". Mostly internally though lol.
Also, petition to have CSS make grass sprites go away based on if there's a foundation above? Wonder how that might work. Would be so QoL.

It's amazing! I'm not sure my reaction is awesome, but I'm very happy with the results. I think by the time I did slugs I'd already done alien capsules and stuff, so I had an idea of what to expect. I think I have about 90 shards in my inv right now and haven't built a coal power plant.
Not confirmed adhd, but suspected. Works differently than mine :) you have at least creativity mine is more objective centered focus, but now I might get a bit bored, cause I again rushed through phases without thinking through and building things unorganised. Currently created a rule for power to use switches. Like a must and get priority switch unlocked, so I could expand power more freely. Main base building plan still a mess :) as per usual... "This time I will be more organised" aaaaaand spaghetty factory outposts. Probably cause it's more fun that way for me, even though it feels annoying to be running around and getting resources by hand.
Yeah, that's exactly what I usually try to contain and temper. If I just go off the rails I'll finish the game in like 30 hours with nothing but spaghetti and sadness.
i think i am worse :( I have autism, and each of my factories needs a dedicated power plant working at 100% efficiency. All of these are tied to the Mastery Priority Switches in the Middle of the Map.
@@Quackz86 seems better :) I'm personally thinking about, ok but can I make a local powerplant just for that factory :) As I am writing this, wait technically I can make sectored Coal coalpower etc. hmmm... but is it too much work to design.

It's a weird type of shame. I think I've battled it all my life. It's the same kind of shame where you're studying (last minute) for a huge test...and I sit down to study, and hours later I realize I hadn't studied at all, but I did count all the ceiling tiles. I'm having fun, yes, but I know I should do a bit more with my time.
What do you use for the custom AVA voice?

Do you procrastinate? Put off paying bills? Do you know you should be doing something and think of every reason not to do it?

The worse thing is when i have a late appointment or have to start work late for some reason i just can't get myself to do anything because i need to go somewhere in 6 hours🤣

Some others have replied that it's a bug! Hopefully it gets patched soon, drives me crazy.
