How to fix a broke hobie fin mast!

I show you how to fix a Hobie fin mast that has broken at the thread! I drill and back out the old thread and replace the mast with new ones!

I have the same issue. The problem I'm having is i cant drill a hole thru the left over rod. Do you recommend a certain drill bit? my drill bit just spins and barly makes a dent in the rod.

Definitely needs a titanium or some kind of machine bit. Sometimes you can use a punch and tap on a piece of the broken rod. It may back out that way was well.

I had already bent it a couple times and straightened it back out. I think just the motion of the pedals did it over time after that. Never seen it or had it happen so I thought I would fix it and film it.

What do if the brass threads are stripped out

You have to replace that piece or 2 part epoxy
