They were smart to bring Dean Stockwell onto this show. Loved him since Quantum Leap, and he brings this show to a much higher level. 😎❤
I like how Stockwell actually understood the show's mythology, unlike so many other (older) actors who come in late into a certain project and just decide to thoughtlessly read lines from a script.
Cavil is my favorite, I am enchanted by the character

The original was better. But, What The colonies should have done was to build colony ships to send as many groups of humans as far away as possible in as many directions as possible to ensure the survival of the human race in the event they lost the way.

0:36 Grace got it right. That's about the extent of planning the Cylons (and the writers) did. Pretending there was anything else going on is deluding yourself.

You know, as the series went on with its emphasis on "head characters" I found myself wishing for John DeLancie's Q to show up to torture Cavil.

It was good, like watching a chess match, until they all got together on New Caprica. Then it became obvious that whatever "plan" the Cylons might have had had gone out the window and now were making it up as they went along.
If the plan was to eradicate humanity then nuking the settlement on New Caprica was the answer.
I blame the writers.
But by the time of New Caprica the Cylons were still arguing over whether it was right to destroy their creators, and so they settled on invading and taking over New Caprica as a compromise.
Great series of interviews. I understand the truce on Caprica, but still am lost as to why the Cyclons then conquer New Caprica. It maybe occupation over genocide, but it's still not leaving the humans alone, much less leaving them in peace.
They tried to live with them, but didnt know how to do it properly.

I think they were trying to make restitution led by Caprica and Boomer to show they could live with humans..isn't thst plausible..? It made sense to me.
They have a plan... no one said it was good plan!! They could've done much worse. Their attack was a joke.
You would think that original John cavill would be boxed especially after his behaviour there suppose to think logically but they act just like the humans and not talking mimicking or emulating them it's like the writing staff wrote the to be as stupid as humans

I recently just watched this again and I forgot how fucking cool it was not to mention the nudity unfortunately they couldn't put that content on the show without it being on another network
He should be happy. In the original, the Cylons did even worse. _BSG_ kept running into other humans on its way to Earth. Of course the Cylon story, and backstory, was different in the TOS. I also didn't get to see this whole series. Wouldn't pay a cable company and wouldn't pay Hulu when it said to pay up if I wanted the rest. Come to think of it, were there any aliens in this version of BSG? The universe is just inhablited by humans and Cylons, who were created by humans? In the late 70's, you had to have aliens. _Star Wars_ effect. Aliens and some form of disco.
The humans were created by God(s)/ANGELS, & the Cylons were created by humans, (the original evil cylon program was the spirit of the murdered daughter of the inventor of the Cylons) her spirit was downloaded into a program by her dad, trapping her & infuriating her. He made her a skin job, i think*, & her fury was spread through the robotic Cylons into AI, causing the uprising & destruction of the colonies.
BALONEY! They were faking it as they went along. There was no 'plan' except to do a few lines and write some crazy copy. It was a wild ride. But they didn't decide to start making sense until they began to tie up loose ends during the last portion of the last season.
