I totally agree with your top 2 tomatoes! I still remember the first time I ate a Black Krim... the best tomato I ever had. And then I grew Aunt Ruby's German Green Giant for the first time last year, and absolutely fell in love with it. One of my top 3 without a doubt! Amazing flavour, and also keeps producing big tomatoes all the way up the vine. I strongly suggest you try my other favourite (I can't pick between my top 3!), which is Brandywine Sudduth's strain. It's an old variety with a classic tomato taste, but it's flavour and texture is just PERFECT. It's heavenly.

Grew Sudduth strain of the brandywine last year. My favorite of 15 different varieties for flavor and texture. It had large beautiful tomatoes. Trying Aunt Ruby's German green this year, glad to hear it's good.

Good reviews! I know tomatoes taste great when paired with salt but always try to taste a tomato first without salt. To judge be able to judge the sweetness and tartness properly. And also, most of the sweetness / tartness in a tomato actually comes from the goop / slime.

Thanks for your tomato taste test! Hillbilly was my gateway mater to bi-color tomatoes, one of my favorites. I think I am doing 15 orange bi-colors and maybe 5 green bi-colors this coming season? I do agree that the tomatoes I picked for the video were a little under ripe. I had a really hard time with them cracking. As soon as they would ripen all the way they would crack.
