Beagles are great dogs as they are so loyal and love to be a part of one's life activities. My Snoopy girl beagle was a real friend and her memory still brings many smiles to my face. Thank you for sharing this great video.
amtrakatsfnyc The videos have left me with tons of memories of dogs I have owned in the past. These were a couple old timers who have passed several years ago. Walker was my house dog for 12 years.
That is great. The Beagles are so intent, intelligent, and dedicated. Our beagle understood English and Armenian. We had to be careful when we spoke because some words in either language would set her off into a tizzy. For example, when i said "Kitty", she was ready to go outside and do some smelling and chasing.
Sorry for your loss.. I am a foster Dad for a local rescue group here in Charlotte..They asked me if I would be willing to take in a Senior Beagle as a hospice dog, to live out her time..What we understood was that she didn't have much time..That was 3 years ago last July..I,finally had to put her to rest in October 2018..We figured Annabelle was about 13 or 14 years old..
Loved this one Mark! It's hard to see the great ones lose a step but we always have our memories. I would have loved to have seen Walker in his prime. I have seen him in so many of your videos would have loved to have walked behind him in the field. Thank you for the videos keep them coming.
A huge gift from God is a beagle hound! Looks like these beagles are on that buttermilk biscuit and country ham diet haha! Every beagle I've owned will eat til their belly's bust if you let them. Always acting like they're literally starving to death haha! Thanks for another excellent video Mr. Carder!
In the beagle world time does fly. When I go through the dog pics and videos I can't believe how many have come and gone. I have been really fortunate to be blessed with so many nice dogs.
Quick question for you. How do you get your beagles to retrieve for you after the rabbit has been shot (when you aren't running them for fun)? I've been training beagles for a few years now and have been having troubles accomplishing this with them. Any hints?
lemons2354 Farmer says!! As a hunter & Beagle owner!! The only Beagle I’ve had that would retrieve , was a half blood Beagle-Spanial mix!!! Most pure Beagles will eat rabbit if you don’t retrieve!! Had it happen with my newest , hard running 2 yr old I have now!!! He’s solid running , but a minor issues!!
+Mark Carder I'm so sorry to hear. It looks like he lived a great life. Beagles are such sweet dogs. I got my first Beagle when he was 9 years old. He was old and fat when we got him, but after lots of exercise he was a happy boy. We spoiled him best we could. He also lived to be 12.
Yea Walker has given me many years of pleasure. I still run him some but not for long periods of time. If I try to hunt him all day he gets crippled up for a week or two. I hate the WV board does not have any interest in Rabbit Hunting. Does not make sense because there are tons of rabbit hunters. We are hurting bad for rabbits.
The Mark of a Good Rabbit dog is when after the Hunt is over,,,the dog's Tail & parts of the head are bloody. They go where the action is, in the stickers.
You know Abby will be a bloody mess and EZ hardly ever has any blood. she is a EZ is a great hunting dog that has a heavy coat. she is a Abby also hunts hard in the brush but has a thin coat. it is a Thanks for watching and the comments. I think she Hope you will keep watching.
They are pretty tough. Their ears and stuff get scratched but never to bad. The worst thing is some of them have a lot of trouble with their tails. Some to the point to where they have to have their tails docked. As far as their body it never seems to be a problem. They have thick coats.
+Seikosha LordElgin My dogs love watching the videos. When I am at the beagle club they will actually try to grab the rabbit when it comes across the screen. Thanks for watching.
I am sure if you are looking for guys serious about killing rabbits our videos will be disappointing to you. Most of our stuff is about the dogs running, trying to provide entertainment and not a lot about killing rabbits. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You know sometimes it is not about shooting the rabbit. As a matter of fact it is not even hunting season. Thanks for watching the video though. Those are just a couple of old times just getting to run a little.
I have always believed some rabbit dogs or deer dogs like we hunt with here , can run possibly run their whole lives and never see what their chasing while its alive. They hunt by smell not sight.
No disrespect to you but maybe you need to think about getting rid of your beagle if you think they were not bred to be a hunting dog..... www.beaglepro.com/beagle-origin
+Mark Carder they live to hunt; they were bred for the sole purpose of hunting rabbit, squirrel, and some birds. I don't see why people go all "animal cruelty" when that's the whole purpose of hounds in general.
These are definitely scent dogs but if they see the rabbit they will sight chase it. Once the rabbit is killed a lot of the dogs just walk away from the rabbit.
I sure do love to hear the dogs run
As long as I have been doing it my heart still gets to racing.
That's two fine looking Beagles. They are a pleasure to watch working a field.
tim atchley They were pretty old at this point. Walker was 12 and Sue was 10.

Walker lived a full life and left me with a ton of memories. I could not ask for anything more.
I have a 9 year old beagle, he might have a bit of hound in him I'm not too sure but how difficult would it be for me to train him like this?

great video, my beagle is 15 and he still hunts but he doesn't run as much as before.
Never had a beagle live that long but we ru them so much that we probably use them up.

They were old timers in that video.
@@mcardery2k Salute the old timers as I'm sure they are still hunting rabbits in heaven. Thank you for your response mister.
yes of course. it seemed like a couple of times she was on the rabbit and opening and he was doing his own thing before packing up
My My how time flys just seemed like a year or two ago Walker was a pup!
Good video as always Mark!!

+lemons2354 We actually don't train the dogs. The ones who do it are natural. It is just in the bloodline.

Mine are also house dogs and my best friends
Is Walker still around, Mark?
+Joe O'Bard.. Walker died last year. He was 12 years old.

Yea he just does not get to excited anymore. His days as a hunting dog are pretty much over but I still enjoy taking him out.
Walker is just a good dog , but Suzie Q did her job as well. Walker was looking right at that rabbit - in the first of the video .
🐕👌

This is called..
Barking dogs seldom bites.... Lol
It is hard to find good beagle
It really is. Hard to find dogs that want to run the rabbit and not each other.
Alguem br?

Reminds me of the good ol days. RIP Storm and Peeter.
They live on in memory.
Beatiful hunter
Awesome video! I have a question, do the beagles ever get scratched badly by the bushes and stuff? Just curious. Lol

Mark Carder ooh okay. I was just wondering because I dont think I would want my beagle to do that lol
You have to remember he is 10 years old now and she is about 10 steps faster than him now.
That is what thdey were bred to do and what they love, its not something you makecthem do.
I'm watching this vid with my beagle pup, she hears the dogs barking and she is so confused.... lol

I got 3 walker dogs but I'm trying to find some beagles to deer hunt with but nice video
Для напряжённой охоты, на мой взгляд, псята шибко упитанные. Но, умнички!
To a Beagle's Heart,is through their stomach
Walker is the one with all the brains and Sue rides the short bus
No reward "rabbit". man o man.

Mark Carder I understand,,,was thinking it's in season.
+Mark Carder u goot some good hounds. I wish I had a good 1or 2
seems like he doesnt honor her all the time.
Hi, We like hunting rabbits using beagles, check videos: jlsarur cazando conejos
my beagel and me grew up as babys together like the saying a dog is a man's best friend but my parents raised my beagel as a house pet
My beagle was also raised as a house pet but I got her when she was one years old
Put her on the scent of a rabbit. Natural instincts take over. Does not hurt to try.
Mark Carder fat Dogo

1 its not
2. They born to hunt, I have a beagle but its your idea if you want it to hunt,
3. Read a book on animal curity, not being mean. 😕

Why do you say that?
hounds have no use for rodents.
waste of time
my 7 month old German Shepard does better with squirrels and pheasants.
