We hope you enjoyed watching us hunt rabbits, it's so rewarding to see your dog get to do what they are made for, Henry is a champ!
If you liked this video drop a comment, let us know what your favourite rabbit recipe is??
Love the illustrated piece, and the music (of course!) 👌🤠
thanks man, the animation was so fun it was the first time i've ever tried it!
im from NL and into rabbit hunting your video popped up and this is by far the best edited video ive seen great work bys
thank you!!
You are probably the best youtuber in the Maritimes video quality-wise; keep on going!
thank you so much!
The intro for Henry goes hard lol
it's my favourite intro so far i think 😂
Good work guys. Excellent quality editing, keep it up, I think you guys could be big.
And good job Henry 🤘
Thank you so much!
Henry’s a beast!
haha when he gets zoned in he's good but i didn't include the part where he chased after deer tracks and i had to rage 😂
Where did you get your dog? My dog turned 3 in April and I got her from Harding Brook kennel in Barrington Passage. She is a house dog also but she loves to hunt.
that's awesome! Henry is from yarmouth but they might be related distantly!! gotta love a house dog that will still go in the woods with ya!
For sure, she loves pounding the bunnies.
Ive got 3 beagles that I hunt on Hares in Northern NY State not the high rabbit population we had in the past but I just run my dogs to hear the hound music since I am an older hunter and really enjoy the outdoors wish I could hunt in Nova Scotia seems like excellent cover for hare hunting
Awesome, I’m kind of the same frank. Doesn’t seem to be nearly the amount there used to be. I can remember my grandfather telling me stories of them walking through the woods and shooting all they wanted, and now if you walk through the woods and see one your pretty lucky. It’s just fun the see the dog work! Nova Scotia has amazing cover for rabbits, lots of thick spruce and fur trees
I hunted in 1970's thru 2010 cant understand why your population is down since you have what looks like perfect cover you need the pines to be low to the ground to provide cover for the hares (spruce trees are the best)I in most of NY State the pines trees were planted in 1930's so they now have no close to the ground cover good luck to you and your fellow hunters I miss the old days @@finsntalesfilms
What a shot!! Balancing on a log are you kidding me?! He says he's no sharpshooter but I'm not sure. Great to see some of the local culture here I'm new to the province. I spent last fall in the off grid RV on folly mountain, there were grouse walking by every morning. Beautiful area.
haha i got kid of lucky with that one i almost fell like 5 times haha. That's awesome, grouse are one of my favourite game to eat they are so good! it is a beautiful area!
I absolutely loved the intro to this video, it was amazing. Congrats on a great rabbit hunt, even though I'm a few months late!
Thank you!! I put a lot of work into the intro so I’m glad you appreciated it! 😆
@@finsntalesfilms it is exactly something I would do to one of my dogs if I were to make a video featuring them

Hey , at what month did you let them hunt? And how was it their first hunt?
I got a 5 month beagle and she been doing good chasing the rabbit at home but I took her out hunting with me yesterday and it doesn’t look like she can get on a rabbit. A rabbit will run by and my dog isn’t able to run a track
Any advise ?
I would say just stick with her! Five months is quite young to really be confident with hunting, I know Henry got on his first rabbit when he was around six months, but it wasn’t until the next year I actually shot a rabbit with him.
When they get on one you’ll know it, because they bark really high pitched especially when they are young. So I would say just be patient and keep with her! Don’t take her when it’s super cold, and make sure when you finally do get a rabbit off her, that you let her approach the rabbit first. That will help her piece the puzzle together and it will eventually click.
Ok so basically just keep taking her out but don’t expect anything from her just let her have fun . When I see a rabbit and doesn’t run just don’t shoot it and let the dog figure it out.
What would super cold be ?
@@finsntalesfilmsok sounds good , when you get a rabbit off your dog and you let them reach the rabbit , did you give them a treat ? Do you think that can help with them connecting the dots
@@alisonhurtado1094 yes a treat would be a good idea I would say! And yes I usually don’t take my dog if it’s below - 5 or so, idk if there’s actually science behind it I just have heard that if it’s super cold it can hurt them.
@ ok sounds good yea I had to get a idea about cold because right now in Kansas it’s get to 30
Wheres the orange vest's?
Thanks for pointing that out, if it was more than just me hunting I would definitely have had both hat and vest, always better to be safe 👍
@@finsntalesfilms I seen 2 for sure with no orange and regardless if their hunting if there and particilating in any capacity you are all required to wear the orange good video tho cheers!
I like my rabbit fried and slow cooked in mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes.
Ooh that sounds really good!
