    Struggle at times with getting elevation with my Driver with 10.5 loft - straight flight with at times a fade - believe with proper us of right hand/ wrist will address both issues - Thanks Tom !!

    Thanks Tom, watched your video and immediately went onto the range to try it out. The first few went far left, but as I got the feeling I started hitting the driver further than normal and more accurately than I have. I did hit a few with a fade but not a slice. I think this is as a result of not staying behind the ball as I hit the shot?
    Definitely going to perservere with this drill. Thank you

    I was feeling this today, confirmed my thought (for righties)…
    Fade = keep the wrists set through impact, open stance, aim left
    Draw = release the wrists before impact, closed stance, aim right

    I love this. I've been struggling with my new driver and it's because my grip was too weak. This makes it much easier. Going to take this onto the course and let you know tomorrow

      @@Weplaygolf my pleasure. This was such a simple adjustment and something that was so basic that people hide it like a mystery. It's like you're taught with the golf swing that everything you want to do naturally is wrong, when that is the natural movement. I took this to the course 2 days after my comment and I could not miss a fairway. I shot a 75 and I'm in my second year of golf

    Excellent suggestion on hitting a draw Tom! I always set up for a draw with my driver. I pick out a piece of debris just in front of the ball that lines up with my target area and then my focus is to swing the clubhead toward that debris. Ninety percent of the time, my draws are center cut on the fairway; the other ten percent is where I have had a poor movement in my takeaway or downswing and the result is either a pull or a push. Great Job Tom! Keep up the good work!!!

    Im going to move onto the ball when i do that , the timing involved is for me fairly inconsistent . Its a great action when im feeling right on my game but its definitely not a slice cure .
    Not cocking the wrists until the very top of the swing creates a much better downswing and helps stop me from getting to behind myself and then saving the swing with my hips which lays the face wide open .
    Slicers rarely come over the top and usually have good wrists , the problem really lies with turning the hips rather than coiling down and then using your legs and hips to return the arms but by that time your wide open and no amount of wrist can get the face back online and closed at the same time .
    Dont turn back , coil down .
    See rory mcilroy …
    This is not a criticism i love your stuff , but this tip is a plaster not a cure .

    The hand/arm action is similar to hitting a flop shot, think 'flop shot' with your driver! Aim down the right side, play the ball forward and yeah use the hand action described = high powerful long draws!

    My driver has been my nemesis for over two seasons. Lessons, UA-cam, practice, etc, hasn't stopped from hitting down at the ball causing a strong pull to the left, and not being able to stay behind the ball. Are you saying start breaking your wrists during the initial start of the swing?

    • @Weplaygolf
      @Weplaygolf  Рік тому

      Hey Robert, thanks for your question. I wouldn’t break the wrists at all in the start of the Backswing but instead keep the club head low and slow as far as possible and keep your centre point of the body on the inside of your back foot, then try to feel that you keep your centre of your body steady and release your wrists like how you would bounce a stone on water. Hope this will help you.

      @@Weplaygolf Thank you for taking the time in clarifying the proper sequence. I will work on it. My driver has been my real problem. You can’t lower your scores if you can’t get off the tee. Will keep you posted.

    In the follow through; now past the ball, you are straightening the arms....now, are you turning over the hands to close the face, or what is your thinking regarding the face of the driver; as it goes through the ball, or is there no conscious turning the club closed through the ball...? Also, where are you focused on making contact with the ball; is it inside third or middle of ball (as it relates to target line) then, where do your hands finish; inside or high finish...? What is critical for that stinkin driver to keep the ball in the fairway with some consistency....I swing like a banshee and I have trouble throttling back since it then goes in the weeds; just off the ladies tee, which is always painful....thanks for your concise and pertinent info, I do love how you uncomplicate this batty ball...and, I am having fun, again....not because my scores are good, but because I am hitting solid shots, but not finding the hole...I am a patient man....which I hear is good for not having to reshaft your clubs all the time....

    • @Weplaygolf
      @Weplaygolf  Рік тому +1

      Hey Teddy, thanks for your reaction and questions, when you want to control your driver you need to keep the same tempo and length of swing,you want to make contact into the middle of the club face and in the middle of the ball. As you accelerate at the impact zone, your arms will fly out towards the target because you should be fully relaxed in that position, I let it happen instead of trying to make it happen!

      @@Weplaygolf That's beautiful, I sometimes let that tension foul the clubface; instead of just staying relaxed and releasing the clubhead....Thanks, your instruction is excellent and to the point. Nice...

    After watching this I tried your method and dreamt hitting long high draws but in reality I only managed to hit 4 of 10.Tell me how when playing how to prepare as not hitting on range.

    • @Weplaygolf
      @Weplaygolf  Рік тому

      Hi Robert, if I understand your question, you actually need to build up a pre-shot routine to make a few practice swings at very slow speed to make sure you know what line to swing on and feel the moment where you want to release the club head.
      Visualisation is a great tool , before stepping into the shot breath normally and exhale throughout the whole motion.

      I only work on breathing and tension control in both hands as I am making my swing….

    Op film ziet het er allemaal simpel uit maar telkens lukt het niet zoals ik wil. Dus een uur les zou wel tof zijn, misschien dat het dan wel allemaal lukt.
