The Endless Adventure Hi there! I'm new to your channel and I was wondering if you've ever been to Thailand? My husband and I are going there in May and would love some ideas of where to go and what to see!!
It's the first time out of the country for us, so we're REALLY excited! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! 😉
Thank you in advance and keep up the amazing work you do!!

If you want to try good vodka I have 2 recommendations:
    * Żubrówka (vodka with bison grass) - it goes really well with apple juice. You definitely won't be disappointed by this.
    * Soplica (brand) - Orzech laskowy (falvour - hazelnut). Try this with milk. It's better than a candy ;)

@@thylacinenv No, Żubrówka is 40% ABV (80 percent proof?). Probably you have on mind something called Spirytus (~95% ABV). But it is rather not for consumption purpouses ;P

Love the video! Do yourselves a favor: buy some Żubrówka [zhu-broov-kuh] Bison Grass Vodka (one of the most famous Polish vodkas, but not available in the States) and mix it with some Tymbark Jabłko (Apple juice). It’s tastes just like apple pie (szarlotka [shar-lot-kuh]). You can find both at most stores in Poland, even most gas stations. It’s one of our favorites!
Żubrówka by itself is also fantastic. 😂

Well ;) Yes. It is wódka for the stomach. In the far past it was used as the medicine. And it works very well. Sometimes better than todays drugs. For me the best wódka i Żubrówka ;) but it is very regular one. Soplica makes the best (for me) flavored wódka :) "Pan Tadeusz" is great as well. And Sobieski or Chopin wódka are very distinguish ones ;) Great video! Glad to see my city :D

    Hi guys!
Lovely to see that you enjoyed Wrocław and some traditional food and drinks. As for vodka tasting I'd recommend a place called Ambasada (which btw is right across the street from Przedwojenna) - it's also afordable, serve similar food and bunch of vodka shots, but has better interior in my opinion. As for the flavours I would also recommend the same brand - Żołądkowa - mint flavoured, which alongside hazelnut (no 1 and 2 in your video) is one of my favourites. For more elegant tasting try Chopin or Belveder. I'd also like to see you tasting just a plain, no flavoured vodka next time ;) Na zdrowie! (cheers!)

Pączki only with rose jam. Next time try those.. In February (52 days before Easter) there is national day called "tłusty czwartek" which you could translate "fat thursday" what we celebrate by eating pączki's and all other fat-sweet food. BTW pączki's are not baked on oil. We use lard with glass of vodka in it (vodka prevents pączki's from soaking fat and removes lard smell).
Last thing. Real pączki are round, like flat ball with filling directly in middle.

The very unique Polish vodka I think is "Żubrówka" (Żubr = European BISON), and it stems from the very special Bisons/Żubr grass added to vodka what makes it a little bit yellow and with just the unique aroma/flavour. May be it's to remind that the last European bisons were saved in Poland (in 1926) and now Europe has over 5000 of them from Poland. These bisons in 1926 were beside the 2 completely endangered and extincted in Europe.

Guys, Advocaat is a liquor from Netherlands made of just three ingredients - egg yolks, sugar, and brandy. The recipe became very popular in Poland about the XVIII century, but generally with the German name Eierkoniak (polish: Ajerkoniak). We had modified the recipe regionally, because it was originally made from brandy (spirit from grapes) and not in every region of Poland, destilation of grapes was popular. Polish "ajerkoniak", or "adwokat" are made from the barley spirit in general, mixed with egg yolks and sugar. Sometimes there are another ingredients infused, like vanilla, cinnamon or menthe. It has nothing to do with the egg nogg cocktails - they are made from fresh eggs mixed with some liquors. Funny fact - egg noggs are used very common as a cure for hangover in Europe, whilst Slavs generally use for that sourkraut juice, sour cucumbers juice, or sour beetroot juice, as well as courses like "żurek" - also made from fermented flour;) I really enjoyed your channel. Best wishes!

Really enjoyed this video!!! As a child I grew up eating Pazcki (your pronunciation of Pazcki and Wroclaw was very impressive BTW) after going to Polish church in Toronto on Sundays. I hated them as I thought they were fake wannabe donuts. I wanted Canadian donuts! My mother said I didn't know what was good. lol She was right! Now when I visit a Polish grocer the first thing I look for is my beloved plum filled Pazcki.

Hey, my favourite plain vodka is Ostoya (from Bieszczady mountains), Belvedere and Soplica. I recommend you to try different flavours of Soplica, interesting mix is nutty flavoured Soplica with some milk ;). I also like cranberry Sobieski with ice. Most ppl in Poland don't drink flavoured vodka as they prefer plain vodka with pickles, tatar (raw chopped beef with egg yolk, onions and pickles) or herring. I also recommend you to try some crafted beers. Cheers from Poland ;)
PS traditional pączek is rather round and stuffed with rose jam :)

Flavoured vodka makes 30% of total sales of vodka in general in Poland. Clear vodka with pickles or tartar is something quite rare nowadays, older people might still enjoy it maybe. People drink it rather occasionally for the toast, especially at wedding parties, that's where most of the consuption come from. At weekend parties flavoured vodka is king among liquors in Poland.

Yeah, but 70% belongs to plain vodka, right? I didn't look at the statistics, I based my opinion on my own experience. I'm 25 years old and 90% of my friends still drink plain vodka with pickles and stuff, so I guess the tradition is not dead ;).

Wow, 25-yo's and plain vodka with pickles? That's not the common sight for me. I think it depends on the surroundings... You're from podlaskie, lubelskie or podkarpackie maybe?

Born and living in Warsaw :) I usually drink in "Pijalnia wódki i piwa" by de Gaulle's roundabout (near the only palm tree in Warsaw ;) ) or in Bar Warszawa by the castle square. Is it a big surprise for you? :D

Aaah, ok, also Varsavian:) I used to go there some years ago when those kind of places were booming to feel the charm of the times that passed, but that was kind of novelty for me and as the time passed and the type of clientele have drawn towards alcoholics, I just passed. I still like the Roman guy though, who has his little bar near me, but I never take vodka there.

This "creamy" one is a common shot named "monte". You can find yoghurt Monte, which tastes the same. The recipe is pretty easy, you have to take "Soplica Orzechowa" and regular milk and mix 50/50. ;> It is very tasty, but you can't drink that much.

This first shot was a wódka with condensed milk (with sugar or without). The best combination is condensed milk with wódka taste hazelnut.

You should compare rye (żubrówka bison grass), and potatoe vodka (luksusowa). Also recomendate regular bakery (Lajkonik and Awiteks in Kraków) if you want taste polish donuts, polish cheese cake, and apple pie. Don't forget to visit Zakopane, if you like trekking.

You should have tried "Zubrowka", which is a very popular and traditional bison grass vodka. I'm not a fan, but the rest of my family swears by it.

For me the best shots are made with plum vodka (brand Soplica) and then you add lemon juice just like on the top. This is a good tip for not being hangover the next day I promise :D tried it couple of times and it really works + the flavour is just extraordinary: first you can taste the sourness of the lemon and then the sweetness and warmness of the vodka! Delicious !!! And the best place to try it is Pub 'Les Couleurs' in Cracow in Jewish District. I guess it is at Estery Street. When you are back in Cracow don't forget to try it!!!

wow you guys..do you plan on stumbling around town to your next location? If there is one thing I think I remember about polish vodka is how smooth it goes down than a bit of time later hits you like a bag of hammers hahaha. Rzolondek is stomach in Polish so rzolondkowa would translate as Stomach-y it makes more sense in Polish some Polish words are impossible to translate that make sense
