    What can I friggin say. Greece stole my heart ages ago, and it's till this day my favorite country. And the cuisine is the cuisine of my stomach. It's pure heaven and every week I strive to eat a new Greek dish by cooking and baking myself for 10 years straight now. I find it so lovely to see how other people experience Greece exactly how I experience it. Sheer breathtaking country, angels on the tongue cuisine, and ofcourse not to forget the very hospitable and warmhearted people.

    Y'all are killing me with these food videos! I lived in Athens for nearly 5 years & loved every minute of it. You do realize that all of that olive oil is one of the reasons that the Greek people are so healthy. I noticed that the only seafood you ate was the octopus. I hope before you left Athens, that you went to the Glyfada & Voula areas which are on the ocean side of the city. Oh my my! Best seafood!

    Hey guys!!💙
    So..santorini fava nothing to do with the yellow split peas in the states and what you taste in it it's lemon...the white Santorini eggplant s much sweeter then the dark one and the Santorini tomatoes you just can't find them anywhere and they are PDO (protected designation of origin).
    The tomatokeftedes at the winery...the tomatoes are soaked in xtra virgin olive oil that's why they are oily but so damn good!
    And raki oh man...dude you will get a buzz quickly!😂😂😂
    Great video guys and your Athens tour was awesome!
    O Kostas is indeed one of the best souvlaki there is👍

Probably my favourite European cuisine

    Ahhhh...Raki (phonetically spelled)! Great for colds and removing your nail polish! Don't ever spill it on anything with a wood finish. It will remove the finish!!! (speaking from personal experience, btw.) Oh and we Greeks love dill. Dill, oregano and lemon.

    • @KateDenthimamai
      @KateDenthimamai 6 років тому

      LisaNYC70 A little extra tip for Raki and colds, is something we do in the winter in order to find an excuse to binge drink and help ourselves when feeling down the weather, warm up some raki with honey and a cinnamon stick and voila, you get drunk and get rid of the cold!

    You need to go to Southern Cyprus and do a road-trip along the south coast. See the ancient ruins at Kourion on the way, then on to Aphrodite's Rock. Best food in that region is the Kleftiko. Fly in/out of Paphos at one end and in/out of Larnaca at the other. Should take 2 days max with an overnight stay in Limassol. Done it ourselves and well worth it.

    Greek mezedes and greasy foods should be eaten with a little bread, always! Some tourists are drinking ouzo before they eat something ... never do it. (Try 1/3 ouzo 2/3 water and ice, after eating something).

    Raki? The anis drink is called Ouzo in the rest of greece. So weird. When you said you were about to drink raki I thought ooooh nooo. Because Raki in the rest of greece is moonshine. Well it tastes and smells like it. Every grandpa aorund the corner makes it kind of drink. Raki in Turkey on the other hand is the same as Ouzo. Confused yet? : lol :D The tomatofritters did look really good. :)

    That's one cool cave house! Haven't found anything like that in the U.S.

    If I flew all the way to the Greek islands I would at the very least expect fresh not frozen seafood. What I can get in my local supermarket give me a break.

    There is no mustard or dill just add some lemon to it !! One of my favorites dishes especially if it is pandremeni (married)(combined) with chunks of onion !!!
