It's always nice to see the touchscreen integrated into the dash instead of the tablet glued to the dashboard look.
100% agree

Just bought an SEL and I love it!
Absolutely loved the creative invitation to subscribe to the channel! So good I’m proud of how you guys are progressing! I have a 2019 Tiguan and love the space. But I like this Taos a lot! Those cloth seats are interesting like you said lol. Not bad
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the channel 😁
Such a great Volkswagen SUV!!! I like watchin' your videos all time!!!
That suv look 🔥🔥 I love your videos
I just buy 3 weeks ago the Taos and l loved same trim ES I am impressed totally recommend great product from Volkswagen
Wow 😍 i love my jetta , bought in Germany and traveled alot, i have since 2014 and no issues at all except get new tires and oil change. but i could definitely use an upgrade. Im a VW fan very reliable brand.
Nice car and cool donut intro I was just thinking about having one with my coffee lol. Thanks for another great video. 👍
😂 thanks, Scott!
great review! thanks for breaking down the differences between the trim levels, very helpful!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Great review
I just purchased this car- love it
Love this car!
Awesome Looking SUV Bro & The New Volkswagen Taos Is Definitely Nice Bro.
Great review !!
Cam you do review on the new 2022 Taos safety features such as VW IQ and Apple/Android Car Play
Thanks
Intrigued by that subtle blue trim on the dash - a nice touch! Great review as always, guys - and congrats on getting to 227k! This last 25k seems like it’s taking forever - but you’ll make 250 soon, I hope. (Been a fan since you had only 50k).
We're chugging along to 250k haha. Thanks fo sticking around so long!

Great review, gents. What were your thoughts on smoothness of the powertrain off the line? Some reviews mentioned that it feels like there's no power for about a second, then whoosh all of the power kicks in & knocks you back into the seats.
Also, thoughts on the tires' road handling & ride quality? I hate a lot of the OEM tires on vehicles these days and have replaced them with much nicer grand touring ones (better wet/ dry traction, quieter, better ride) on my last couple of vehicles.
Great car actually interior really reminds me of the polo
Thanks for the review. Want this SUV.
Glad you enjoyed the video👍
@@CarConfections test drove an SE yesterday and loved it. Peppy. Waiting for an SEL.
Thank GOD it'll fit my coupons!
Well done
While it's easy to see the new Taos as another subcompact SUV and a smaller version of the Tiguan, from another perspective it's a somewhat different vehicle. Now that VW has withdrawn the basic Golf from the North American market, the Taos is designed to take its place in the VW portfolio. It's a small car versatile enough to meet a variety of needs from urban/suburban daily driver duties to a long range highway cruiser for a couple or a a family with one or two kids. The Taos makes no pretense of being an off-road vehicle like the Jeep Compass or the Subaru CrossTrek. No plastic cladding. Less ground clearance than those models. But those attributes weren't found in the Golf and the Taos follows suit. The Golf achieved its iconic status as a result of its generous passenger and cargo space wrapped in a small package. The Taos is about 6" longer than the Golf but it's designed to provide that same combination of attributes as far as Americans are concerned. Notably, the MK8 version of the basic Golf lives on in Europe. And the Taos, like several other models such as the Jetta and Atlas, isn't offered there.
In other words, say hello to the new Golf for Americans. A bit larger inside and out, dressed in an SUV costume, and with a new 4 letter name.
P.S. Although the MK8 version of the basic Golf won't be offered in the US, the GTI and Golf R will continue. But if sales of the Taos are strong, it's not unthinkable that VW will decide it makes sense to replace those models with the Taos fitted with the engines and drivetrains of the 2.0L models.
Nice analysis
I test drove a FWD SE earlier this week. I agree with your assessment here with one exception. For me, the "air ball" would be the underwhelming 1.5L TSI engine. VW should have used the fantastic 1.8L TSI engine from the (discontinued in the USA) Alltrack instead. I'd gladly give up a couple of mpg to have the more spirited 1.8L engine.
the 7-speed dual clutch transmission on the awd ones makes it feel a LOT more powerful off the line
Good video guys! :D
Thanks!
Reminds me a lot of the original Tiguan.
I think the best bargain is Taos S fwd with IQ Drive! Same semi-autonomous tech that is found on Audis. 25k for a Taos that can do everything the Q3 can do for much less $!
I definitely might go test drive this! Looks amazing!
@iOmega TV yes I test drove it yesterday! It was amazing!
I purchased one 5 days ago, sweet ride, mpg and comfort.
@@gundany How are you liking it a year later? My sister just bought a 2023 SEL 4Motion. I'm anxious to see about the reliability.
@@barbz_zayne , not a single issue, is awesome in gas, i put some miles doing 10 hours trips. Relaxing drive, I love it.
@@gundany Good to know, I wasn't very sure about the reliability part of it when she bought it but it checked literally every other box for her needs and wants so overall it was a good buy. What trim level did you get?
Great new option
Finally they put some fricking door pulls in the armrests. Now put them in the Tiguan and I'll buy one.
The Best!
Awesome video, I actually think that this is the best VW crossover!😸
Update! I tried the launch control of the 7 speed DCT on the Taos it works like charm, can't belive they advertise this vehicles as a 8.4 second 0-60 when in reality it can do 6.9 secons using regulat 87 gas when using launch c
Sure has great lines...
Wish it had a power tailgate. And be cool to see a bigger engine option.
VW should had given the SEL a power tailgate for the price of that top trim, and of course a more powerful engine.
Love this review. What's up with the loud blinker sound? I test drove this car and could not stand the loud tick tock of the blinker. Dealer said there was no way to turn this down! WHY?
Thanks!
I don't why V dub keeps putting these fake exhaust tips in the back. But with this being sub compact this crossover is quite stylish and it has a lot of room on the inside.
very nice taos and very stylish. The price is very cheap for this suv
Will the 2023 Tiguan have anything new and interesting? More power?
Is there anyway it can hold a dirtbike?
I think the turn signal is louder than the horn...lol
The digital gauge cluster in this Taos, reminds me of the digital gauge cluster in the new Corolla!
But is it better than the tigaun also is it better than the cx5
The 2022 vw taso looks alright, it’s a great price
It’s taos
This VW Taos is really the cheaper version of Audi Q3, with a weaker 1.5 engine while Q3 has the 2.0 GTI engine.
VW is doing the same thing as Toyota on RAV4, changing to bigger size then going back to smaller size. Taos is about the same size as the original Tiguan but slightly wider.
Not a fan of the interior materials. Seems to be the one big miss, in an otherwise likeable set-up.
I watched this video in hopes of seeing a review the ACC and travel assist steering wheel controls. Don't skip the things you might consider "the small stuff"
Not all se models have travel assist
As a former VW Audi owner and having taken part in VAG marketing with its ad agencies: Yawn.
Is the Panoramic Roof standard on ALL trims?!
The panoramic roof is optional 🙂
I sat in the Taoa Model S today.......omg the S model just seemed so cheap. The seats were hard as a rock. The steering wheel was plastic, not even wrapped in leather.
I agree, i felt like I was driving a cheap rental car. And although my bank account was saying S, my heart, head, and tender backside drove me to the SE (actually Trendline and Comfortline in Canada) The middle trim looks great, and is super comfortable. The engine may look meh on paper, but it’s torquey as heck, and pulls strong at any speed. I’m happy.
Nice
Is that a smaller car or medium ??
You can usually get $4000.00 off of a Tiguan or a little more so I wonder if VW will end up discounting the Taos that much?
I went to a dealer who offered the Taos SE for 32.4K (out the door and no mark-up). I was wondering what my asking price should be. If I negotiate down to 30K, does it sound reasonable?
@@voyager6576 no way not in this day and age. You can make an offer and then go up from there but the Taos is hardly available so there won’t likely be any discounts down from MSRP. I’ll be surprised if they don’t make them up. But it never hurts to ask for free window tint and some free oil changes or some item like wheel locks or rubber floor mats.
@@2004cyrus VW has a lot of cars on their lots
@@tonycamaj4560 oh maybe where you live: not in Oklahoma City or Where I just relocated to, San Antonio, Texas. Oklahoma City had 4 Atlases when i checked 3 weeks ago and that was all. And here in south Texas I live 4 miles from a VW store that is next to an Orientalist restaurant I eat at and it usually has a couple of new VW’s. I drive around the back and they have 1 or 2 getting ready for the lot but I went inside and they told me most of the new ones get pre-sold. But this is a big city. Where abouts are you? And what quantity do they have?
@@2004cyrus southern California. It's a beast out here. Too many people.
Don't worry, I said "French Toast" interior the first time I saw it too haha. But it's "French Roast". Just an fyi.
So basically a redesigned Tiguan Limited
its just an entry level compact suv, alot cheaper than the tiguan but no 3rd row option
No I wouldn’t say that. That’s a lazy comment and lacks thought or depth. Try again.
No auto hold? 😔
Isn't the warranty better than 3yr/36K also?
Yes it is. 3:30 is where you can find that info
Should be 4yr / 50k
2018 and 2019 the warranty was 6 years, 72,000 miles
@@byronoda1258 yes I have a 2019 with that People’s First Warranty.
Lol, I wish the Taos was only 23k. It's more like 35k!
Sorry, do not care for the Blue on inside.
Taos or Mazda CX-5 ?
CX-5 without a doubt
@@Kev_inn_ agreed and I just bought a new CX-5 GT
Its French Roast. Not French Toast. Nice video though.
Must've had food on the mind 🤣
First one
Why such a wimpy engine, a 2005 Saturn vue had a 250 hp v6!
Boring! More of the same.
