Then give Salamander Assault Terminators another upgrade kit and allow them to combine hammers and shields with up to 4 heavy flamers and you pretty much have Firedrakes done too. Handing out 18 Codex Supplements for all the original legions is going to meet a lot of back lash. Which is why it would make sense to combine some of the legions and their successors into shared books. For Chaos it makes the most sense to divide the books among gods. So, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Vashtorr, Khorne and Tzeentch as well as one Undivided. The Loyalists currently have 5 books, with the Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Black Templars and Blood Angels. To prevent further bloat would it make sense, to have certain Primarchs ally with each other. E.g. you could add Raven Guard to the Space Wolves book and have both of them lean heavily into more "demonic" elements, with heavy mutations (Wulfen and some sort of warp ravens), and leaning on Germanic mystical elements, their many Great Companies led by the two demigod brother warlords. Given how heavily the Ultramarines lean into Rome, that image could be expanded and have his Codex group consist of a Triumvirate who embody the more standard space marines (maybe with the White Scars standing in for the many barbarian auxilia and outriders the empire used?). There's a lot of ways you could combine legions and their primarchs together.
I am actually fine with them not splitting up the codex's again for the factions because if they do, it'll be right before 11th edition, we all buy our books for them only to be good for 2-3 months. Waste of money.
Whats with space marine players thinking their subfactions deserve as much attention as actual factions? Does every pheonix lord have a codex? How about each necron dynasty? How about oh idk the four fucking chaos gods getting faction books?(not just soace marines and friends) your one faction already has many many codexes your characters should go into your codex just like everybody else
@@voltix54 that Chaos God's do essentially get their own books now that the Daemons are getting folded in to the Traitor A state books. Phoenix Lord codexes would be retarded as they'd contain the phoenix Lord and 1 unit, so that seems insanely stupid as an argument. And as for Necrons, they don't have unique units and styles of war for each Dynasty. Although I would definitely support GW putting more effort into the Xenos factions
I think GW would be genuinely stupid to release just characters for the Codex Chapters. Fans of those chapters are frothing at the mouth for lore and models and they litterally have the perfect alternate system to release models for the Chapters. A Kill Team for each, designed around the character getting release would be killer. Gorgon Terminators for the Iron Hands Character Phobos Jump Units for the Raven Guard Jet Bikers for the White Scars Terminators for the Imperial Fists Tacticus Melta Units for Salamanders Like they NEED too do that cause everyone really really wants somthin. Maybe another detachment based on a different aspect of each of them too (and of course, Iron Hands should be made into a whole divergent Chapter)
@johndavies4801 that was just the first raven guardy type of unit I thought of that doesn't already have some type of model. Dark Furies would be sick as though.
@@strangething77 from the sounds of it, it really seems like they are just doing Characters again, which is still great. But a unique unit would be so much better and would actually give people a reason to play codex chapters without buffing the entire codex
Maybe I am frothing, but given their thing not just being fire but forge, salamanders not having an entire range of giga elite units is madness. There is lore wise no army that should have more custom shit. People talk about flamer units/melta units always when speaking about salamanders, but that's not really their defining wargear trait at all. It's about every one of those mfers personally artificer crafting their shit.
Sharrowkyn is dead, he lived during the siege of Terra. The only marines from the siege of Terra still alive in 40k are either Dreadnoughts or live in the warp where the flow of time is different
@@wakito64last we heard he went into stasis carrying what we now know Cawl used when making Primaris (Sangprimus Potum). No confirmation he’s actually dead yet.
I want dragon knight terminators in artificer crafted armour and I want it stat. I want more melta spers. I want cool ass +10% size strength/toughness 5 custom armoured elites, yesterday. Preferably I want a Juggernaught equivalent drake rider as well, because it's cool.
I wish they'd also make vehicle upgrade kits for the Land Raider for CSM and the various mono-god CSM factions. Imagine how cool that could be. Some sort of sonic barrage weapon for Emperor's Children, Warplflame weapon for Tzeench etc... Would breath life into the Land Raiders again hopefully.
I really miss being able to put a flamer on the landraider. Sucks when SM get one with an insane flamer and CSM got their normal one removed. Same with rhino.
Valrak, you have to think bigger. The Black Templars deserve nothing less than a Dreadnought-Marshal HQ, loaded with multiple weapon options and a named variant as well ✊🏻 Besides, any words on Votann and Drukhari?
For Templar’s, Dreadnought chaplain or assault terminators If they really wanted to be different, maybe try to find a way to incorporate Phobos into the Templar’s (I thought that a Phobos squad that specializes in reclaiming relics would be super cool). Could also do like a Phobos chaplain
Im really hoping for a kill team box for Grey knights... I know a full re release is unlikely this time around but i need some properly scaled grey knights so bad.
Getting Firedrakes or Pyroclasts would be amazing additions if the Salamanders got their own supplement. But a new He'stan and maybe one more character would be great to see. Vulkan's sons need that extra push (totally not biased at all)
I'd like to see Grimaldus interred into a dreadnought but without a sarcophagus. Just the greatest chaplain in 40k, raw and exposed. Savaging and screaming at the enemies of the imperium FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!
Chaos and Eldar getting their "refreshs" soon and all Chaos Gods are represented through returned Primarchs. Do you think something really "new" will finally be released during 11th Edition? Of course that would depend on lore development as well.
God I hope it's a SM supplement book for ALL the smaller chapters. Just condensed content of multiple factions whacked into one book to speed up the releases of playing factions. Daemons in CSM books are hopefully a sign of this to happen. Chaos undivided daemons can be on a condensed book for the rest of the CSM's too. Makes so much sense and gets the updated rules out sooner.
I'm still so surprised that GW hasn't said that the salamanders image was a mistake and it was meant to be Imperial Knights. However, them taking so long is a bit puzzling. Maybe they're waiting to see more of the public reaction?
I would love if the Salamanders image is for a Shattered Legions codex. Give Raven Guard/Iron Hands/Salamanders some stuff unique to them to represent their history in the Heresy
Mind you, I don't remember how Vigilus/ Nachmund Gauntlet ended, but like Pariah Nexus it might be the next "step" to return to for a Chapter Approved. This would tie into the CSM/Demon stuff and the new space marine stuff if they wanted it to. Maybe Space Marines get a Nachmund Update Book or something. Don't forget the "end of edition" story stuff will be coming end of the year...
Re: codex adherent releases, I think we've seen enough times over recent years where GW releases a campaign book containing army book expansions, but they've released the army book updates as free PDFs, alongside a hardcover and app updates. Seems likely this could be the case for the Salamander roadmap entry.
I hope the Grey Knights get a sort of refresh or even just more stuff (or access to more stuff). I swear I remember either in a grotmas post or something sooner GW said Grey Knights would be getting their codex or some more "stuff" this summer
I'm surprised they haven't done anything with the Raptors chapter for space marines. Always found it odd that the raptors symbol is one of the 4 chapters seen on the transfer sheets.
What would be great for Grey Knights if they don't do a complete range refresh is a kill team of their non-terminator kits since like 3-4 units share a sprue. Maybe then later on we get the terminators alongside Draigo next edition. But god damn the basic troops would be so nice to see redone they're so stubby lol
I’m really hopeful that these aren’t just character models but also new upgrade boxes. Seems like all the £10 tiny upgrade kits will disappear and be replaced with these new versions we’ve been seeing. I can imagine maybe they’ll continue the trend with special limited dice as well. I wonder what chapters it will cover in total? Salamanders Imperial fists Raven guard White scars Maybe an ultramarine upgrade kit or death watch, iron hands….. maybe a green successor chapter?😂
Give me models you wouldn't think of. I want a White Scare Bladeguard model with a Sabre and a buckler. I want a Raven Guard Phobos Apothecary. What about Salamander Assault Intercessors with a wrist-mounted flamethrower? Or Iron Hands Bikers
im seeing the grey knight picture as having a demon tentacle as opposed to a fur pauldron. i love how theyre releasing an upgrade kit for a 20 year old vehicle lmao
Here is what I’d like to see as a Iron Hands fan boy. With Fulgrim’s return the Iron Hands would go into a rage and hunt him down get into trouble, literally throwing their lives away try to avenge the Ferrus Manus. Like Dropsite 2, but this time their the salamanders come to their add and help turn the battle around. Because personally I think the Iron hands and Salamanders play off each other so well. That if anyone is going to kinda help get the Iron hands out of their 10 year depression it’s going to be Kardan Stronos and the salamanders.
They need to add the axe and dual wielding weapons to space marines 2. Would also be dope if when you die in pve you come back as a dreadnought for like a min or something to help clear the horde that would be awesome, maybe if you have the most kills on you squad you can come back as a dreadnought something like that would be awesome
I seriously doubt Salamanders are getting a standalone codex. It's going to be a chapter supplement book. People have been complaining about the lack of identity for specific chapters in 10th - this will be how they do it. A bespoke detachment for each chapter, and some new characters to boot.
It is definitely going to be another Codex Compliant supplement. Perhaps releases of the remaining Finecast characters. Perhaps they are going to release more robust conversion sprues like the other chapters have received (not likely, but who knows). But more than likely Assault Terminators and Vanguard Veterans. Hard to say what else we will see for regular kits.
OK, GW, right when I've found at the end of my struggles good enough stl-model for my custom Lysander you are going to redesign him... all right, Imperial Fists never surrender.
1. Please bring Kaldor Draigo back from the Warp. Draigo should now be at Primarch level due to centuries spent in the Warp, as the Grey Knights currently lack a Primarch. 2. Please redesign the Nemesis Dreadknight. 3. Please adjust the design and size of the Grey Knights to match the Primaris Marines or create a story that introduces Primaris units to the Grey Knights in some way. 4. Rework all other HQ models for the Grey Knights. 5. Complete refresh of all standard units for the Grey Knights.
Sir, you mentioned before that imperial knights/chaos knights would be at about the same time. Last time they did a road map they only showed the imperial knights. This time they only showed the chaos knights.
Here we go, by the end of 11th we are going to have a few more unique Space Marine Armies...wondering if the plan is to eventually have fewer detachments in each marine supplement. Honestly they should have done this much sooner, keeps me hopeful that marine bikes will be great again with a new white scars army book.
I know it's a long shot but I'm still holding out hope for Vulkans return. My 5000 points of Salamanders are itching for it but I'll take unique units or a Tu shan or Sakan model too but STOMP STOMP, brothers!
Im a salamander player, why do people keep thinking we'll get our codex???? We are already in the 10th edition Space Marine codex, there is zero chance we get a codex or a supplement
LISTEN Chaos Space Marines have always been shafted. I'm fine that Space Marines aren't getting anything For Once. Also I just want the World Eaters to get more units because as it stands we've barely got anything we have from the novels.
To be fair, Loyalist Marines really do need proper new kits for Assault Termies + Outriders/Bikers + Supressors It would also really behoove GW to do proper upgrade kits for the Sallies + Scars + Fists + Raven Guard + Iron Hands, similar in style & components to the likes of the Templars/DA/BA upgrade kits Chaos Marines though really NEED to be given the 'Eldar/Guard treatment' at this point, and should be given 2-3 massive range-refreshes over the next 2-3 editions; 1. Remove ALL the god-damned Mortals crap from the codex - it is codex Chaos SPACE MARINES after all, not 'Codex Cultists + 12-18 Chosen bolted on' >.> Give us back our Lost and the Damned codex, and put all the Cultists, Traitor Guard, Beastmen, Mutants, etc... in there. Could slap Vashtorr in there as well, alongside some new Dark Mech units. 2. Give each of the Traitor Legions a proper named character or two, such as Kor'phaeron & Erebus for the Word Bearers, maybe Warsmith Honsu for the Iron Warriors, etc... Then give each Traitor Legion a new unit alongside a full upgrade kit, ala Night Lords... why not a Siege Specialist squad for IW's? Gal Vorbek or some other daemonically infused unit for WB's, Infiltrators/Assassination squad for Alpha Legion, etc... 3. The God-aligned Legions likewise each need at least 3-5+ more unit kits per faction... DG less than the others, but still, we really need a proper Havoc-styled squad to fill out our glaring ranged anti-vehicle holes, and bring back our Possessed! Re-organise Plaguemarines into their 'Plaguemarine' + 'Destroyer' + 'Reaper' squads, especially to help with game flow issues! 1kSons really need a Psychic Dreadnought, a CC Rubric unit w/dual khopesh swords, disc riding Marines, maybe a 'mini' Silver Spire/floaty Tower as a unique artillery piece?! Also lean more into their 'magic robots' angle beyond just their Automata, so why not remove basic Cultists and replace them with say, undead-looking ancient Egyptian styled robots that serve as a remodeled Spire Guard?! World Eaters just need to be an actual army instead of barely 3 unique units + Angry Ron!! Where the feth are our Red Butchers? Teeth of Khorne? A crazy 'gladiatorial suicide unit' similar in vein to Death Co.? Why no Vindicators or even a god-damned basic Chaos Lord?! We absolutely got shafted with the laziest, most low-effort release in GW history! Bring back Doom Rider for the Emp's Kiddos... a unit daemonic pain engine or two, Sonic Dreadnoughts, etc... Honestly, Eldar players love to whine that they're the unloved red-headed step child of GW, but in truth, Chaos have always been the most shafted major faction, alongside the Dark Eldar.
@drunkenastarte5243 World Eaters in current lore also still employ Mutilators soo they could bring those back. Also I could do without the "Reflavored Possessed" that have never shown up in any books. We need the Red Butchers, Berserker Surgeon, Butcher/Gore Priest, the basic Chaos Lord's that every single other Chaos Legion currently has. I could have done without the Jackals and would have preferred the Beastmen be the World Eaters unit akin to the Poxwalkers & Tzzangors. I agree the Cultists and stuff should be in a separate Codex like the Dark Militarum and such. It just sucks to be a Chaos Player ESPECIALLY a World Eaters player.
There's only one things thats a MUST for me and thats to actually SEE what the tyranid norn-queen looks like! And no description but see her in her full glory. She made me like the tyranids a lot more other then just some trash to kill in whatever way you want to kill them of on. Feel the same with the Alien Xenomorphs and the geonosians from star wars. They all have an queen with a "giant pulsating egg-sack". One could argue that the tyranid norn-queen took that "egg-sack" took that a little bit to far with her requireing an entire fucking capitol ship to fly her around.
i believe that the grey knights will get a new Kaldor Draigo and new model to lead purgation squads, because they don't have one, with the new warbane something need to happen. chaos and imperial knights will release together.
If the Salamanders are being updated early in the year like this we probably won't see Vulkan anytime soon. Wait! Salamanders and Black Templars originally were released in codex Armageddon. Codex Armageddon 2?! Dark Angels Update was better than the Black Templar one.
I really hope Pedro Kantor gets a new model, but the lack of rumours about him compared to first founding chapter characters isn't giving me much confidence sadly.
They need to just make a nice novella of Death Watch merc-ing the 'Nids and making a new Character for one of the Codex Chapters that can be fielded as DW or Specific Chapter (anything but Blueberries or Dornian kids)
GW gone full corporate. Launch new products in the first quarter of the year to boost your financial outlook. Not complaining, just means expect most big launches to happen early the year now. EC fits that so they brought it forward over knights which is smaller opportunity. Wouldn’t be surprised if 11th edition launches next year at LVO aligned to the ITC calendar
I dont think black templars need any new units but thematicly should have a special rule to be able to add chaplains to units even if it has a leader already attached or a special rule where judicars and chaplains can join the same group since chaplains train the judicars be lore appropriate since we dont have liberians or a reclusiarch comand squad i dont know just throwing ideas out there ofcourse balance it with points

E.g. you could add Raven Guard to the Space Wolves book and have both of them lean heavily into more "demonic" elements, with heavy mutations (Wulfen and some sort of warp ravens), and leaning on Germanic mystical elements, their many Great Companies led by the two demigod brother warlords.
@ II am totally fine having only one space marine book. Less stuff I a have to buy
He's to hoping the new Lysander model comes with a vortex grenade loadout on the datasheet....
in the shape of a fist?
With the codex compliant salamanders getting a bit of love I’m wondering if Vulkan is the next Primark to return?
I think GW would be genuinely stupid to release just characters for the Codex Chapters. Fans of those chapters are frothing at the mouth for lore and models and they litterally have the perfect alternate system to release models for the Chapters.
A Kill Team for each, designed around the character getting release would be killer.
Gorgon Terminators for the Iron Hands Character
Phobos Jump Units for the Raven Guard
Jet Bikers for the White Scars
Terminators for the Imperial Fists
Tacticus Melta Units for Salamanders
Like they NEED too do that cause everyone really really wants somthin.
Maybe another detachment based on a different aspect of each of them too
(and of course, Iron Hands should be made into a whole divergent Chapter)
No to phobos for Raven Guard thank you.
Keep your combat crocs.
Bring back Dark Furies in all their beaky, clawey beauty.
@johndavies4801 that was just the first raven guardy type of unit I thought of that doesn't already have some type of model.
Dark Furies would be sick as though.
Special units are cooler than special characters. Maybe all five codex chapters are each getting something unique. Even if it's just an upgrade sprue.
Surely, this is just the usual end-of-edition campaign book series with some accompanying minis?
I would normally say that but its not that, other books are still yet to come.
It's too early that would be next year.
I was told that we are going to run longer than just 3 years. Everyone is speculation that 11th is an updated core rules.
🤷🏼♂️
i think raven guard character that should come back and hope it is Nykona Sharrowkyn as well he did killed lucius ones.
@@wakito64 he not dead in 40k and wat danielflynn5446 say is true
@danielflynn5466 yeah he's not dead and that be my guess as to the character coming, as rg don't have many named outside of him.
There’s just one thing I’d love to see for BT! The Marshal or Castelan in the 4th edition Codex cover artwork! Then I can die happy.
Gravis pyroclasts would be very cool, pyreblaster under one hand powerfist with melta in the other.
Maybe a multiple chapters codex with Imperial Fists, Salamander Ravenguard. The GK refresh could be a 11th ed starter ?
Salamanders or bust!
No more "upgrades" - true, dedicated units + characters + codex.
Valrak talking about a Black Templar ancient again was not on my 2025 bingo card.
I'm surprised it took this long tbf
I really have the feeling that they are ploughing through 10th to get to 11th
Valrak, you have to think bigger. The Black Templars deserve nothing less than a Dreadnought-Marshal HQ, loaded with multiple weapon options and a named variant as well ✊🏻
Besides, any words on Votann and Drukhari?
For Templar’s, Dreadnought chaplain or assault terminators
If they really wanted to be different, maybe try to find a way to incorporate Phobos into the Templar’s (I thought that a Phobos squad that specializes in reclaiming relics would be super cool). Could also do like a Phobos chaplain
Wait... grey knights, Salamanders and Templars... these were all part of Armageddon 😮 👀
GW YOU GIVE US A UPGRADE PACK TO MAKE PYROCLASTER OR FIREDRAKES AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!!
At the end of the day, anything new is absolutely appreciated
Man i just wanted a krieg centaur or mole launcher but here we are getting space marines again. Atleast valrak is happy
Bro didn't Krieg just get a huge release?😂 though neither of then were part of that release
@ they didn’t get half of what they have, the rest moved to legends so you can’t even buy the resin kits anymore
5:46 Gotta be a character PDF index
Free rules from GW?
@@ChapterMasterValrak They can always stick an extra 10% on the model price to cover that
I'm surprised they haven't done anything with the Raptors chapter for space marines.
Salamanders
Imperial fists
Raven guard
White scars
Maybe an ultramarine upgrade kit or death watch, iron hands….. maybe a green successor chapter?😂
The Space Wolves pack are still on route to getting new Codex and models.
Give me models you wouldn't think of. I want a White Scare Bladeguard model with a Sabre and a buckler. I want a Raven Guard Phobos Apothecary. What about Salamander Assault Intercessors with a wrist-mounted flamethrower? Or Iron Hands Bikers
As BT player I wish some sword brothers in terminator armor with own datasheet. Maybe kind of strong like deathwing knights 😊
im seeing the grey knight picture as having a demon tentacle as opposed to a fur pauldron. i love how theyre releasing an upgrade kit for a 20 year old vehicle lmao
I can see salis geting there own codex they are a top 5 fav chapter for a lot of fans and have been highlighted in recent media
Where's a new cato sicarius!
OK, GW, right when I've found at the end of my struggles good enough stl-model for my custom Lysander you are going to redesign him... all right, Imperial Fists never surrender.
All I heard was "Storm Giants are getting a codex and three books!" .
Anything else?
👍👍 keep the rumours coming dude I love it!
Space Vampires and Space Skaven, WHEN?
Please. It's costing me a fortune to build my own space skaven
Sir, you mentioned before that imperial knights/chaos knights would be at about the same time. Last time they did a road map they only showed the imperial knights. This time they only showed the chaos knights.
Maybe a single Chapter book that covers all the major SM chapters and chapter building rules?
come on Iron Father Stronos
hope its a phobos marshall for the black templars
After how they did Custodes, I'm not getting my hopes up for Votann
Black Templar release to blow everyone’s minds: Black Templar Librarian.
Votann are the last of this edition?
Definitely near the ending of it
Question @chaptermastervalrak, where did you get those imperial fist banners / flags on the wall behind you?
Maybe it is a Space Marine Codex 10th Edition 2.0? Or some kind of Space Marine Codex addendum to add more characters and update the written rules?
Also, a new Kaldor Draigo and Constantine model are coming. You heard it here.
Grey Knights need a refresh sooooo damn bad. Also... Hydra Dominatus
LISTEN Chaos Space Marines have always been shafted. I'm fine that Space Marines aren't getting anything For Once. Also I just want the World Eaters to get more units because as it stands we've barely got anything we have from the novels.
To be fair, Loyalist Marines really do need proper new kits for Assault Termies + Outriders/Bikers + Supressors
It would also really behoove GW to do proper upgrade kits for the Sallies + Scars + Fists + Raven Guard + Iron Hands, similar in style & components to the likes of the Templars/DA/BA upgrade kits
Chaos Marines though really NEED to be given the 'Eldar/Guard treatment' at this point, and should be given 2-3 massive range-refreshes over the next 2-3 editions;
1. Remove ALL the god-damned Mortals crap from the codex - it is codex Chaos SPACE MARINES after all, not 'Codex Cultists + 12-18 Chosen bolted on' >.>
Give us back our Lost and the Damned codex, and put all the Cultists, Traitor Guard, Beastmen, Mutants, etc...
Picture "Alien Queen" but _very bigger._
Black Templars still do not get Terminator Pauldrons and sword brethren assault terminators parts since previous refresh. Make it happen GW.
Yea there will be a new Kaldor Draigo model.
For the Emperors Children.
In regards to the Imperial knights it would not shock me if they became folded into the astra militarum as a allied force like the chaos daemons
Black Templar Ancient would be pretty sweet!!
Knights codexs will come out with the next balance dataslate becoz of their stat changes along with some other weapons stat changes
Bet that Grey knight upgrade kit is for the redemptor not the baby carrier
The Salamander image is also on the salamanders page in the SM codex
All i want for the new imperial knights codex is the inclusion of the cerastus frame from horus heresy.
Still sitting here for like 2 years waiting on Votann to get a codex and more models
Space marine image is lead into end of edition books that we normally get.
i believe that the grey knights will get a new Kaldor Draigo and new model to lead purgation squads, because they don't have one, with the new warbane something need to happen. chaos and imperial knights will release together.
Black Templar terminators grey knight terminators and salamander terminators. that’s it that’s all I need to do three boxes
Still waiting on buying a new combat patrol, but Ill wait till all this stuff comes out and choose haha, its so much!
How about getting a new named character for Black Templars
