It's a tragic situation, it can be difficult to care for a family member who is extremely needy especially when you're getting up there yourself To put it on the shoulders of the children despite having the capability of getting assisted care is all too common. Not all children are equipped more suited to deal with this situation yet the parent has expectations perhaps unfair expectations at times. If these two ladies had used forcefulness in a different way perhaps father would have had to go into assisted living and no one gets murdered. I've seen other circumstances where the caregiver eventually becomes overwhelmingly exhausted and wants the person to die. Murder is never the answer.
Imagine poor Tony, being persuaded to come over for one final booty call against his better judgment . . . and instead getting an earful of cray-cray. Not how he figured that night would go down, I imagine. 😂
She was saving the sex for "afters." One way to get rid of two troubling former X-casual-sex partners: Report them both for murder 🙂Then you get your picture on UA-cam due to the association....
Anthony retained his capacity to make autonomous decisions about his care. He never stated he wanted to die. No one has the right to override a competent patient's autonomy, no matter what BS "empathy" angle they come in from. Greedy, impatient and malicious money grabbers
Most long term health facilities are for profit. This means the people that are supposed to care for the patients are paid very little and there is a constant staff turn over. I would never put someone I loved in a place like that.
I was planning on writing a modern version of Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and was wondering if a pace-maker would keep a heart beating after death. Now I know.
They were fortunate indeed, that the authorities didn't insist on an autopsy. My dad died at 85, in the care home he was forced to be in due to disabilities from multiple strokes. He had chosen non-recuscitation. The coroner's office STILL insisted on an autopsy, which only revealed the illnesses we already know about. I was furious because I didn't want him cut up and poked around in, he didn't deserve that.
@@daveatkins3568 Thank you Dave. Dad had never had an operation in his life. He funded his own care with only a small subsidy from the state. To me it is the ultimate invasion of privacy. But no, he didn't know the difference.
I live in Palm Harbor. I listened to the undercover tapes and interrogations. Anthony didn't want to go into a nursing facility. He wanted to stay in his own home. Neither sister wanted to care for him around the clock. That was actually the motive.
Absolutely wrong to kill him, but what was the proper way for the sisters to handle this (assuming they didn't have the ability to give him the care that was necessary)?
"Only speculating about what could be happening in a situation like this..." then proceeds to describe and analyze the exact story and individuals in the case. :D
Yeah i don't belive that it was really about not wanting him to suffer. Like the way they killed him, that's not conductive to decreasing suffering, no they suffocated him like he was some sort of vermin, that needed to be dealt with. It sounds so horrible, like the amount of sheer terror and agony that man must have felt in his last moments, and perpetrated by his own children nonetheless and all out of the blue for him. Thats a death i don't wish on my worst enemy. These women treated their own father with not much more dignity as a rat. Absolutely disturbing.
Love all your content Dr. Grande. Been subscribed for a while and always love to hear your take on things!! Could you look at the psychology behind parents and adult children estrangement? Would love to hear your view on this!!
My dad told me “if I ever get dementia, send me out in the woods with my dads shotgun, a 6pack of beer and the elements to do me in”. I didn’t understand until I became a CNA and eventually had to care for loved ones on hospice. The suffering they endure is insurmountable and I wish there was more to be done 😞
I have been there and done that, too. Hospice is a time of great compassion and if used by healthcare providers and the family as a forum for intergenerational forgiveness of family dysfunction and past personal mistakes, it can beget positive change and peace.
I live in Palm harbor and have been looking for info about this story. I have a news reporter friend that was on a crime show about this story but have never been able to find it. Thanks for this video 👍🏻
Dear Dr Grande its often more difficult to be the carer of a parent who is unwell. My dad required no care. My mother required lots. She had many falls, and the only thing she ever broke was my nerves. Many kind thanks from Australia for the excellent analysis.
Dr. G, are you a Poe fan? I have read several of his works and the details have never left my mind. This could be called The Tell Tale Pacemaker. This piece of equipment has “told the tale” of quite a few so-called perfect crimes. What’s more disturbing than Poe’s story is that this one is not from his crazed imagination.
I guess Tony really had had enough of Linda and her demands for intimacy. That was one way of getting his freedom. Although the situation of caregiving was difficult,he deserved more compassion. I can’t believe how easy it was for them to kill their father.
Thank you Dr. Grande. You have a unique talent with your videos. They are always interesting and informative with just a sprinkle of absurdity. One thing I have learned from you isnthat human nature never changes. Which reminds me...I would love to hear your insight on Cain and Abel. I’m wondering why the brother didn’t help out also. At least you could’ve helped out some to relieve the sister so they could do something else besides, taking care of some of the time Caring for someone is a extremely hard chore so I can sympathize with the sisters there. Of course what they did is not the answer
not without sympathy..being a carer is distressing and difficult...also difficult to see a loved one suffer..IF Linda wanted to confess she didn't have to disclose her sister's part especially as she confesses for reasons other than guilt..it's REALLY sad..

Long time viewer etc... Had to comment on your Poe reference. Excellent analysis, as always. I discovered this channel through what I like to term the "narcissism pipeline". You are the only creator (from that space) I still watch after getting over my failed marriage with a suspected narcissist. Started watching because of your scientific, fact based analysis. Continued watching for your erudition, and, especially, your dry as the Simpson desert sense of humour. No offense meant to anyone, but most North Americans haven't got the same level of dryness as the English or Australians. So coming from an Aussie raised by a Pom... Good show, my good Doctor!
Each life lived by these three souls gave each a valuable experience from both positive and negative aspects. One always learns way more from the negative pole than the positive as in this case...one becoming crotchety in old age, another's narcissism blooming forth, and the third succumbing to naïvete. When the two daughters exit this stage, they will have learned valuable soul lessons from their experience and behavior. Since "the other side" is all positive energy, no negative can exist there, all three actors in this little family play will greet each other and be totally neutral about it. No one has to agree with me about this, it's just the aspect of the universe that gives sense to events like this to me.
Those sisters are warped...I think they wanted the money before it went to their father's Healthcare and his illness was an inconvenience to their sad lives
@@cecilr7986 Anthony Tomaselli was a retired barber living in a state with a high cost of living. This man was poor. The only asset he had to leave his three children was his $120,000 property. The only thing that is "free" on Medicare is Part A hospital care. Part B healthcare provider, Part C third-party (e.g., Medicare Advantage), and Part D drug coverage are covered by health insurance premiums, deductibles, and discounts. Selling his property to live in an assisted living facility, when the average cost of assisted living in Florida, according to Genworth's 2023 Cost of Care Survey, is $4,750 per month that ranges from $2,295/month and an average high of $8,055/month.
@@cecilr7986 With $120,000 of property tied up in his side of an old duplex, Antony Tomaselli was not a rich man. He was on a fixed income. So, his healthcare was likely covered through enrollment in the federal Medicare program. Full coverage by having a long-term work history of 10 years or more during which time fees are taken out in advance of retirement is provided for Part A: hospitalization, while Part B: healthcare provider, Part C: third-party insurance, and Part D: prescribed medications are available as additional options. Part A: hospitalization is fully covered under prior payments made into the system in advance of retirement. Parts B, C, and D are not. Parts B-D are financially covered via insurance premiums, deductibles, and discounts.
Yes. Some people erroneously believe that Medicare healthcare coverage is all paid for in advance through 10 plus years of employment before retirement, but a person has to enroll in the program within 2 months of turning 65 and make quarterly insurance premium payments for Part A: hospitalization alone. The cost of Medicare coverage goes up with additional options in Parts B-D coverage. Then their are the deductibles, third-party healthcare insurance premiums, and out of pocket expenses for drugs, with or without discounts.
The sisters would have ultimately inherited the money, but they relieved themselves the chore of having to care for their father. Murder let them have their inheritance sooner without having to provide care. It was somehow more difficult for the 2 sisters providing care than it had been for only their elderly mom who had health issues to provide that same care. The way they ended their father’s life was abhorrent and to not be prosecuted was bizarre. The sisters will be able to commit the same offense when it’s more convenient for them.
I am an advocate of compassion in dying .I have written an advance directive writing down my wishes. This makes it a lot easier for everyone involved to make appropriate choices. This case reinforces the idea however that there needs to be strong checks in place to make sure that unscrupulous so called "carers" are not able to manipulate a situation against the wishes of the patient.
Please make sure you also have serious conversations with any one who may be in the position to make decisions for you in the event you cannot speak for yourself. Let them know what quality of life is for you, and what medical treatment may or may not be acceptable. Unfortunately, in our litigious society, even advance directives may be overlooked by medical professionals when family objects. Believe me, I’ve witnessed this. Sometimes this is for financial gain. Sometimes it is just family who are unsure, despite the directive, and err on the side of caution. So make sure you have these very important conversations about organ donation and advance directives. The subject of death is difficult for most of us, but it is necessary to make your wishes known. It is not enough to just make out an advance directive, alone. Sometimes these conversations also need to be repeated, periodically. Make this process as easy as possible on your family.
Mother, may she rest in peace had a pacemaker. When she passed way the medical staff said that the pacemaker will continue beating her heart and only stop when she stops breathing. If the sister’s testimony is correct and the pacemaker continues to function then that means Anthony should’ve been still breathing.
How could they do that to their own father? This is very disturbing, they said they don't want their father to suffer, but suffocating him is the worst way to get taken out of here. All because they are too heartless to care for their own father.
That is evil, especially drugging your sister to take her father from her. Why did they not just tell Lauren that they would not take care of him anymore, Im sure Lauren would rather take care of him than have any of this happen! wtf!
Family should decide. Old folks home is the hell on earth !! I’ve worked at 4 all the prisoners wonted me to take them home !! I suggest whiskey & hard DRUGS. But NO they would get addicted so they ply them with mind blowing drugs and collect the cash I worked for 25 years as a contractor for nursing homes
When she told Tony this, was she making him an "accessory"? I don't know. Leaving the moral obligation aside, did Tony have a legal obligation to report that? I'm not questioning his judgement. I think he did the right thing. Just wondering about the legality of his remaining silent, had he chosen to do so.
He could’ve always said he was in fear for his life from those two nuts if he didn’t tell on them and it was found out that he knew. How would it be proven that he knew if he never told? It would be whomever’s word against his.
Since he wasn't a participant of the crime, he can always say something like he didn't think she was serious. But we also need to consider that if the crime is eventually reported (in his mind if the woman is telling him, then who else might she tell in the future?) it may come out that he had knowledge of a possible crime and that he failed to report it. That's not illegal in itself (some jurisdictions do make it unlawful not to report if the victim is a minor) but if it becomes publicized, then his reputation may take a hit (in the community or for employment purposes).
Did anyone bother to ask the father whether he wanted to die or not. No consent makes it murder plain and simple. The planning of the act and hiding that fact makes it first degree murder.
As a senior citizen, weak and disabled, this man was still mixing alcohol with his medication - the authorities made a mistake of not performing an autopsy. This makes the "choice" of "poisoning" a difficult senior citizen, a risk the daughters were willing to take. Seems like the authorities need people like Tony, or a new set of rules.
This is sad stuff. I'll never understand this. Family should be naturally willing to take care of the very family that took care of them growing up and throughout their lives (at least, if that is the case that they did). My brother and his wife have taken care of her mother for nearly 12 years now, and she is probably not too much longer for this world. She will have to be moved to palliative care before too much longer because my sister-in-law is not capable of lifting her by herself, and there has now been a couple times while my brother was nearly an hour away on a job, she had slipped and fell and they just had to wait for him to get home because I was also on the road. Other times I was nearby and could help. She doesn't really know who anyone is anymore. Now, it's my turn. My wife and I may be about to move my mother in here and take care of her. Right now I'm spending nights and my wife is spending days, and we're trying therapy and new meds with the doctors to see where it goes, but we can't leave her alone because she has tried to hurt herself to "be with Dad" basically. I'm sorry, but I grew up with great-great grandparents, great-grandparents, and grandparents... watching them all die off over time, be a pallbearer at most of their funerals from a very young age onwards, and visiting them at various nursing homes until they passed. I don't want my mother living in a nursing home until it is a last resort. I witnessed many of them. There was ever only one I thought I would feel comfortable with my mother living there, and it is closed now. No way Jose.
I married a man and found out 10-15 years later that his father was being held in a basement, in his own feces, against his will. Those pension checks were nice to someone. It does happen, more often than we can imagine.
She didn't want him to suffer, but attacked him in a way that required him to fight them off. How frightened he must have been! Just because people are dying doesn't mean they want to be murdered! No one wants to be suffocated to death! Poor man😢

😅😅😅
She was saving the sex for "afters." One way to get rid of two troubling former X-casual-sex partners: Report them both for murder 🙂Then you get your picture on UA-cam due to the association....
It’s like when Mr. Krabs admits he took SpongeBob’s squeaky boots.: “They’re here! Under the floorboards! Can’t you hear them?!” 🥾🥾
Anthony retained his capacity to make autonomous decisions about his care. He never stated he wanted to die. No one has the right to override a competent patient's autonomy, no matter what BS "empathy" angle they come in from.
Greedy, impatient and malicious money grabbers
Plus he had insurance for care
Tale tell pacemaker Thanks Dr.
Most long term health facilities are for profit. This means the people that are supposed to care for the patients are paid very little and there is a constant staff turn over. I would never put someone I loved in a place like that.
Always interested to see who is romantically involved in every story
I was planning on writing a modern version of Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and was wondering if a pace-maker would keep a heart beating after death. Now I know.
They were fortunate indeed, that the authorities didn't insist on an autopsy. My dad died at 85, in the care home he was forced to be in due to disabilities from multiple strokes. He had chosen non-recuscitation. The coroner's office STILL insisted on an autopsy, which only revealed the illnesses we already know about. I was furious because I didn't want him cut up and poked around in, he didn't deserve that.
I agree with you. If it’s any consolation he never knew the difference. 😎✌🏻
@@daveatkins3568 Thank you Dave. Dad had never had an operation in his life. He funded his own care with only a small subsidy from the state. To me it is the ultimate invasion of privacy. But no, he didn't know the difference.
…damm pacemaker, that must of really freaked them out…..😮
The mighty parents who loved you as a child ❤️ cannot be seen in the old age pensioner.
There were times when he took his medication with alcohol. I can relate.
I agree with you, Dr. Grande. They committed First Degree murder.
"Only speculating about what could be happening in a situation like this..." then proceeds to describe and analyze the exact story and individuals in the case. :D
Talk about not having common sense…
Yeah i don't belive that it was really about not wanting him to suffer. Like the way they killed him, that's not conductive to decreasing suffering, no they suffocated him like he was some sort of vermin, that needed to be dealt with. It sounds so horrible, like the amount of sheer terror and agony that man must have felt in his last moments, and perpetrated by his own children nonetheless and all out of the blue for him. Thats a death i don't wish on my worst enemy. These women treated their own father with not much more dignity as a rat. Absolutely disturbing.
I'm not sure why I find Dr. Grande's disturbing stories so fascinating
Love all your content Dr. Grande. Been subscribed for a while and always love to hear your take on things!!
Could you look at the psychology behind parents and adult children estrangement? Would love to hear your view on this!!
"They had an on again, off again relationship." I see what the Dr. did there.
Thank you, Dr.Grande. I truly appreciate your work!
Strange that they were offered a plea deal when they had both admitted guilt. I think longer sentences were warranted.
I see that the one on the left went to the Lori Vallow School for Jail Eyebrows
😂
They had a horribly messed-up spin on "not wanting a loved one to suffer". 🤯
Another excellent analysis 💎
Thank you again Dr. Grande
You don't do that to the elderly
I about spit out my drink when I heard the name Anthony Marsh! Its not often you hear someone you know when watching a case analysis.
I live in Palm harbor and have been looking for info about this story. I have a news reporter friend that was on a crime show about this story but have never been able to find it. Thanks for this video 👍🏻
Always interesting
Thank you ❤
Stunning! My father was my God...I honored and cherished him. To even THINK of something so horrific like this is beyond my level of comprehension.
Dr. Grande , please do the case of Tamala Horsford.. would love to hear what you think 😊
The very first family (per the Bible account)and one son promptly kills the other.
can you do a video on the springfield three?
Can you do an analysis of the Takoda Collins case?
I want to ask you Dr. Grande, why your merch has Confession Bunny, yet your studio's filled with cacti?
I'm shocked by the state's attitude on the charges.
I’m wondering why the brother didn’t help out also. At least you could’ve helped out some to relieve the sister so they could do something else besides, taking care of some of the time Caring for someone is a extremely hard chore so I can sympathize with the sisters there. Of course what they did is not the answer
Killer dry humor! and perfectly delivered!!
I successfully failed - I'm too early to read the comments beforehand, to see what quips/wordplay I can look forward to 😅
5:04 there we go 😂😂
not without sympathy..being a carer is distressing and difficult...also difficult to see a loved one suffer..IF Linda wanted to confess she didn't have to disclose her sister's part especially as she confesses for reasons other than guilt..it's REALLY sad..
I'm going through that right now- looking after my mom without any qualifications, sitting here with 3 stitches in my head because of her. I can't imagine holdng a pillow over anyone's face though, let alone hers, and watching them wriggle and try and draw breath.
There was obviously a lot of guilt there and I think it was eating her up. However, she didn't want to go down by herself.
@@tanyaedwards4574worse yet stuffing a washcloth in their mouth and pinching their nose so they can't breathe...horrid
@@dlc5166 It's so disgusting. I'm genuinely sitting here with a bandage over my head because I had to have 3 stitches to sew up a gash in my head that my dementia/paronoid mom inflicted - she's frustrated, and because she lives with me, I'm the closest person to hate, but I can't imagine doing something like that,
What a horror show these women were. Didn't want him to suffer and choked him with a washcloth. Are you fkkn kidding me? Glad Tony made that recording.
This tale sounds like a soap opera.
As a palm harbor resident, I know firsthand how many hospitals and senior care facilities there are in this city it’s big business here. Also our city is surrounded by other major cities. They should have gotten help. No excuse for them killing their dad.
Please do one on Terrance Howard!!
Dr. Grande? I enjoy ALL your videos. I appreciate your wry humor, and admire your grasp of alliteration. 🎉
p.s.: Yeaahh, Go Sagueros!
😁😁😁🎉🤙
I immediately thought of Poe as soon as I saw the video title 🖤
They could have easily taken him to a nursing home under hospice care. How sick and ignorant of those two.
My same thought! This is exactly what hospice does if they were that worried about his suffering QOL with his conditions and up coming surgeries.
His healthcare was covered and the insurance policy wouldn't have been financially connected to his care.
Thanks Dr. Grande
This was putting "A Woman's Right To Choose" to the test !!!!!
Beyond shocking. Humans never fail to disappoint.
I totally agree with the doctor. This was a merciless, premeditated homicide, bunch of lazy prosecutors were those ladies lucky strike.
What happened in this case?
Its just my opinion but loose lips sink ships.
Woah, a pacemaker continues to make your heart beat? That's crazy. I didn't know that.
That's horrific, bad way to be murderd.Evil sisters.
People put dogs down why not humans. I hope I’ll will be able to take care of myself
Mother, may she rest in peace had a pacemaker. When she passed way the medical staff said that the pacemaker will continue beating her heart and only stop when she stops breathing.
If the sister’s testimony is correct and the pacemaker continues to function then that means Anthony should’ve been still breathing.
Good again, Dr grande. I think you analyzed correctly
How could they do that to their own father? This is very disturbing, they said they don't want their father to suffer, but suffocating him is the worst way to get taken out of here. All because they are too heartless to care for their own father.
Ot never seems to go well when Dr. Grande says, "They became romantically involved."
That is evil, especially drugging your sister to take her father from her. Why did they not just tell Lauren that they would not take care of him anymore, Im sure Lauren would rather take care of him than have any of this happen! wtf!
I mean they say it was a mercy killing, but I just can’t imagine ever doing something like that out of “mercy”
Dr. Grande, could you please analyze the case of Bossman Jack?
Day 93 of asking 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Loe Poe. "There! There! It is the beating of his hideous heart!
How utterly wicked of them
I remember this case it was pretty bizarre...
Did anyone bother to ask the father whether he wanted to die or not. No consent makes it murder plain and simple. The planning of the act and hiding that fact makes it first degree murder.
Just imagine this man raised, loved and protected his 2 murders
There was malice.
Excellent video 📹
MAN 👨❤ TROUBLE.
How dare thry assume what was best? What normal person could do this to their parent? Should be first degree. The mercy killing was for herself.
I married a man and found out 10-15 years later that his father was being held in a basement, in his own feces, against his will. Those pension checks were nice to someone.
It does happen, more often than we can imagine.
