From the Interior the 7 Series looks like a modern Office - while the S-Class looks like a Luxury-Lounge. Thats why the S Class always wins :)

I don't think it's more powerful at high speeds, I think it's more areodynamic. I know it has a really low drag coefficient.

Mercedes has a 2.9L engine and is more efficient, but 730d is lighter. And BMW isn't 'impressive' its just the gearing. At top speed BMW is in 7th gear (1 gear left) and Mercedes is also in 7th, but 2 gears left. Because of 9th gears Mercedes can cruise at lower RPMs and be more efficient.
Both are awesome! You can't go wrong with either but ofcourse my preference is the s class ;)

Bart I actually think BMW looks more business like and s class looks more elegant. But ofcourse looks are subjective so every one will have different perspective and opinion! :)

With small engine I would prefer S-Class (350d vs 30d, 400d vs 40d, 450 vs 40i), but with the more powerful engine I would prefer 7er (50i vs 560) (M60i vs AMG S63)

I would choose a 5 series over E class but never a 7 series over S class.
Mercedes is the king of luxury. BMW is a poseur brand driven by people who think they drive race cars but actually drive budget baller vehicles.. Always has been, always will be.

The Sport+ mode is for Amg only. It wouldn't make any sense on a normal car.

matth fra In the normal S-Class, there are 4 driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual. In the /////AMG models Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual.

Both aren't driver's cars. Get an S class and give it to your personal driver. If you want a daily driver get a 5 series.
