Omg love this. My Monstera is unfurling a new leaf and it's showing 2 inner holes/fenestrations ON ONE LEAF! I nearly screeched when it unfurled enough for me to see. I was so happy. I think I need to do what you're doing too. The roots of my Deliciosa are crawling out into the tray
My bed is unmade too! My cat was sleeping on it and I didn't want to disturb him. I watch your videos because they are fun and informative and the plants are relatable not some vastly expensive things which need their own ecosystem to survive. Great work
Very pretty pot! I got a single leaf from a friend 6 years ago. I rooted in water & transplanted to a 3' pot. Over the years, it's grown into the pot & just within the last year it's REALLY grown. New life, new light. We're both happier & my plant takes up a 5'x5' window space. Idk how I'm going to single handedly repot. Can I fly you in to lend a hand? LOL! ;) Love the vids. Keep them coming!
Ok I have always wanted one... Soooo. . I got three 🤦🏼♀️😂 Three 10 inch babies that only have three leaves currently. I have them potted together at the moment. They came bare root and I didn't have any small nursery pots or substitutes at the time lol 🤦🏼♀️ Wondering when you think it would be a good idea to re-pot them separately. I'd of course like to have them in multiple rooms 😄
I see you kept the root ball is that ok I feel like my monstera is not growing to it’s full capacity because my leaves are on the smaller side like yours but you know what they have the potential to be. I don’t know if I should try and open the huge root and let her recover or what😔
Thank you for sharing this! I’m about to repot because my plant has turned into a BIG BOI and I think it’s becoming root bound. Do you need to shake the old soil off before putting it in the new pot with new soil? I noticed you just put it in the new pot “as is”…
Omg! I just went through this same crazy process with my Monstera baby. Unfortunately since then the top layer of her soil has molded and she has a lot of nats visiting her ☹️ Great video love!
I had some soil mold on my string of pearls and used a mixture of apple cider and water, sprayed it a few times over a couple weeks, and the mold was taken care of.
This was so fun to watch :D And I totally understand the struggle.. :D Plus agree with your choice of pot even though its heavy, it will make a plant a bit more happy than simple plastic pot :)
do aerial roots continuously grow? all of mine are an inch or two long at the moment and i'm just wondering if they'll stay that way or continue to reach out and expand! also i salute you for repotting that big guy without a second person for assistance hahaha, mine is in a 7inch pot and it's already so heavy!
they will continue to grow! you can trim them or just cut them off if you want, it won't harm the plant. i just love the look. and THANK YOU! so heavy 🥵
thanks for the clip... I just got a 3 foot one today so its similar in size to yours. i am planning to tie it against a moss pole, not so much for letting the aerial roots latch onto another growing medium but more to stream line the spreaded foliage. Im gonna wing it on that extra step but follow your process pretty much :D
I just potted my new monstera, and I accidentally put it too low in the pot I think. Should I pull it out and redo it or wait for a little bit since it’s already gone through the trauma?
Wow, such a nice and big plant! 💚 Thank you for sharing! Do you know Jane Perrone and her podcast „On the ledge“? It‘s about indoor gardening. Very interesting and so lovely made! She is crowdfunding a book. I hope, it will come true, because time is running out 😣
Hi how are you i love to watch your video i have a small question for you I have a plant of agave so can i use it inside my bedroom this is good for night also ?
Absolutely love your vidéo !! The monstera is on my wish list ... They are so beautiful !!!! I have a question , someone told me That you Cannot do the watering bottom technic if the plant is in a terra cotta pot because the pot will stay humide for a long time and it's bad for the roots is that true ? Thanks ☺️
they are gorgeous! and so rewarding. you can definitely bottom water plants in terra cotta as long as they are in well lit areas that will allow them to dry out. i do it all the time! it just requires more water.
I was thinking it's time to repot one of my monstera... 4 plants larger than yours in one 12" pot. Maybe I put off the reporting too long it's been 2 yes. If you're doing yours I'm overdue... shoot it's going to be dirty! Helppppp!
Wait until it gets those secondary holes, you’re going to freak! Put it in a sunny awesome spot this summer, give it teeny doses of fertilizer every time you water and it’ll blow up this summer! I got mine as a baby last summer and by the end of this winter it was putting out gigantic leaves with soooo many slits and holes!
@@GoodandPlanty thank you so much! I’m very new to this plant. I’ve been using regular soil and a pot with no drainage. That is going to be changed tomorrow! Mine does have some dark brown dry patches though on the leaves, is this a sign of rotting or over watering? Can they go away on their own? If not, should I propagate it? Thank you!!

If I have to repot inside, I cover my area with newspaper - we get free ones delivered to us without asking. I know you are probably too young to have newspapers! LOL! Great vid! I have a gigantic one that I just bought for $14.99 (YEAH!) but it needs a new pot and stakes and I need 5 arms right now! Thank you!!

it was bold of you to shower before this but I love you and this so much. The changing of angles is killing me. I love her in the new pot omg
doing my best ;) it'll match the gray walls
yessssss love you cat xx ❤️💝 we are all supportive of your decision with meek and all wish the best for him 💘

I usually cover my floor with big papers or old blankets so I won’t make a big mess….beautiful monstera❤️❤️❤️
I just got my first house plant and it’s a monstera. I’m so excited for her to get as big as yours!! Love your videos 🪴🥰

Omggg she looks SO good in that white pot oh my !! 😍
i was soooo eager to get her in there! nice change from the regular terra cotta
Thank you for the video. You have given me the courage I needed to go ahead and repot this giant plant

I would love to see an update on how big it has gotten over the summer, she looks very happy and gettin plenty of light between those two windows.

i don't think i could hide the bad/ugly even if i tried 😅thanks so much gabby!!
Lmfao sounds like a backhand compliment
The ariel roots will grow if u stick them into the pot. I stuck all of mine into a pot w soil on the floor n they’re growing
definitely! that's what some of the roots i showed at the end are doing naturally
just repotted my large monstera and this helped so much!! thank you!! I hope that my guy thrives in his new pot

Removing it from its old pot was a WHOLE workout on its own😂 but she looks so great in the white pot!! 🌱
oh for sure i was sweating 😅

luckily they are incredibly fast growers!

I love your monstera. It looks so healthy! Like do all your plants. Do you use a humidifer to keep them extra happy?
this plant actually doesn't get that much humidity!

thank you! yes, they do!
They'll only put them out if it's humid enough.

Beautiful plant and room. 😊
How do you know when it’s time to repot this plant?
When alot of the roots come from out the bottom of the pot
Nice job
She looks really Healthy what fertilizer do you use???
i used to use espoma's all-purpose but recently decided to give liquidirt a go. the products i use are linked in my description!
how do you prevent your leafs from tearing 😭 mine has so many tears on it 💔
Was this a three year old plant when you repotted?
I have a six year old one in a 32 inch pot it loves it conditions apparently
Big plastic rubbish bags help hold the dirt for me when potting or repotting my plants.
Era para colocar num vaso o dobro do tamanho desse.
Logo logo você vai ter que trocar de vaso de novo😁
Sometimes I end up having to break the pots in order to remove the plant
🤣🤣 beautiful
Maybe a stake to help support her better?
My Monstera just let out its first slit leaf and I actually teared up about it lol
it’s truly an emotional thing 😭

but worth it!! 🤩
where did you buy this pot?
It’s a damn good thing your Monstera, caaaarez bout youu. No, seriouslyy dude.
That was so hella lackin lol
Oh my god. I repotted a pothos my husband had bought more than five years back and I removed ALL THE OLD SOIL including some roots.. Oh crap
that's okay! you can do it that way too. if the soil is 5 years old, it might actually be better you did it that way.
Great job. Not to messy.
i tried! lol
is a regular compost good for these types of plants? :)
compost is great! may attract bugs depending the compost. but it's a great way to naturally add nutrition

still happy you're here!!
Why would you repot after you watered it ? One more thing half of you UA-camrs repot when it doesn’t need to be done.

yes, i bought it pretty large already. couldn't resist!
I can rhat you tried so hard to hide your bed then showed ir anyways 🤣🤣
shhhhhh 😭

Aww I like the way she says "pot".
DONT CUT THE ROOTS, MONSTERAS LIKE TO GROW ON TREES IN THE WILD, YOU CAN ALSO STAKE THEM OR PUT A POLE WITH MOSS SO THE ROOTS OR VINES GROW ON THEM!
💚
kat the camera moving at the end please
listen.........
