  • In this video, I’m sharing one of the best cleaning hacks I’ve found: using warm isopropyl alcohol for cleaning glass! After months of asking people on my live streams for their top cleaning tips, the one that kept coming up was “warm ISO.” And let me tell you, they were right! Warm ISO works so much better than using it at room temperature, but it’s important to heat it safely because ISO is highly flammable.
I’ll walk you through the safest ways to heat ISO without a microwave or open flames, ensuring you avoid any risky situations. Whether you’re cleaning small glass accessories or larger pieces, warm ISO cuts through grime and residue much faster, giving you cleaner glass in no time. Plus, you can reuse your ISO for multiple cleanings, making it more efficient and cost-effective.
Watch the video to see how I heat up my ISO and how well it works on some seriously dirty glass. Trust me, once you try this method, you’ll never go back to room-temperature ISO again!

I always use hot water first to clean out as much gunk as possible and while the glass is hot, I'll pour the iso in and the glass warms it up and works like a charm - also completely safe!

you can pre heat your pieces as well, just fill it or rinse it with hot water, that way the iso cools down way less

I like that for the 1st clean, warm, bong hits.
Iso is also hydrophilic, it absorbs water. So getting most of the 'warm-up water' out before the iso helps keep the iso from diluting.

@@Rottidog68 yeah, no, fill it up, let it heat up and then dump the water out before putting in the iso, I thought that was obvious. Also a few drops of water won't hurt a bit

I used to just microwave the alcohol and still do once in a blue moon but I found if I fill the dab rig with hot water from .y water cooler/heater and let than sit for a bit to absorb the heat from the water into the glass. The glass gets to hot to touch then I pour out the water and add the alcohol into the rig. The rig is hot enough to boil the alcohol so it does a great job cleaning.

Adding some rock salt or coarse salt & swirling it around will help a lot, too.

If you use PBW you need to rinse the bong really well before using it. It's non toxic but not sure if you wanna be getting it in your mouth. PBW is used in the beer industry to clean the brew tanks.

lol, I think it's more common sense. Alcohol & fire = No.
Although, it is scary at how uncommon, common sense is, now-a-days.

I just throw it in the microwave. I've done it for many years and it works perfectly. I don't use rubbing alcohol though I use pure grain alcohol aka everclear

I use those fizzy tablets they sell to clean false teeth. Just fill up your glass with warm water and drop two or three denture cleaners in, leave it couple of hours and rinse. If there are stubborn areas I might do a warm iso rinse, just enough to get to the dirty patch, but mainly... denture cleaners.

I do kind of this on my dynavaps, put the pieces inside a glass jar with iso, not tall but wider to be able to place a xl stem lying down. Boil some water and put the jar inside, leave it for a few minutes to warm up and then stir and shake it a bit, do this a few times and change the iso if its too dirty. (If its sunny you can leave it in the sun for a couple of hours as well)
After this if you want to make it shiny as new, use a scouring pad and some dish soap.

Thanks for showing a proper way to warm iso. Got a Keurig in the house that dispenses hot water. I would never use a microwave. That could cause one nasty explosion right into one's face.

Dark Crystal Glass Cleaner works great for any chazzed glass. Heat it up like 10-15 seconds.

Just use a Bain Marie (container with water with another smaller container floating in it) how water in the bowl then float the other one on top with the iso in it. No risk of fiery death!

    1. Rinse glass in warm/hot tap water.
    2. Boil RO or Distilled water ONLY (important or minerals WILL stain your glass)
    3. Add two scoops of Headie Eddie's cleaner.
    4. Plug openings and watch the magic happen. Shake (if needed). ✌️💙🌱🌵

Now take that bag and throw it into a cheap 30$ jewelry ultrasonic from amazon with hot water (like in your cup, hanging off the side). I wash my dynavap like that, all my small glass and pieces too and rince out the alcohol with hot soapy water after.
Also, if you have a hardware store nearby, you can use methyl hydrate as an iso substitute, it’s sold by the gallon.

Hot water will remove 98% of the gunk but then you still have that sticky film on the inside of the glass . That's where hot alcohol comes it. It removes that hard to get out sticky film. But I agree I always start with water out of my water cooler/heater. I'll rinse with that 2 sometimes 3 times then while the glass is still really hot I put the alcohol in and shake the rig around.
