Top 5 Reasons People Prefer Smoking Over Vaporizing

- In today's video, I'm doing something a bit different-no edits, just a raw, one-take discussion on a topic that hits close to home: why some people still prefer smoking their flower over using a dry herb device. I asked ChatGPT to give me the top five reasons people stick with smoking, and I'm breaking down each one to see if I agree, disagree, or have my own unique perspective.
We'll cover everything from the love for traditional smoking rituals to the initial cost barrier of quality devices, the maintenance and learning curve involved, and even the debate on whether using a device delivers the same intensity as smoking. Plus, we'll dive into the portability and discretion factor, and I'll share my thoughts on how devices stack up in real-world situations.
Whether you're a seasoned smoker, a curious user, or just interested in the ongoing debate, this video has something for you. I also share insights on why so many people who make the switch to devices never look back-and why you might want to consider giving it a shot if you haven't already.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments-do you agree with the reasons listed? What’s your experience with using a device vs. smoking? Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more unfiltered content straight from Sneaky Pete. Keep it green, keep it sneaky, and I’ll see you in the next one!
Great first take, no edit, video. Your enthusiasm for the advantages of vaping really shows. Especially when you use the word “infinitely.” 😂😂
Vezini: “Inconceivable!”
Ingio Montoya: “ You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Thanks for your consistently excellent reviews, interviews, and commentary… great positive attitude as well!
Great comment thank you!
Since vaping came on the scene, my lungs love me again. No more hacking up crud!
@@d-munn lungs are important!
Same I can't go back to smoking I love the flavor of my flowers not burnt ash taste 😀
The learning curve argument always baffles me when smokers that can roll one handed in the dark whilst trying to be discreet say, “can’t do it mate, packing that little bowl and putting the lid on then pushing a button … too fucken hard mate. Smoking’s easier”. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
some stoners can only retain so much information at once 😂
yah I agree, that argument might have made sense 10 years ago, but devices have some a long way and they're so much easier to use now
@@jojomang8333 😂😂😂😂
Not wrong I’ve forgotten
what this is about. 😂😂😂😂
I went to a shop for a pipe because my arthritis was making rolling impossible. I couldn’t find one that I liked so I was talking shop keeper about my problem and vaping became our topic and jarred my memory of an article I read about vaporizers. There was one that stuck with me. It turned out to be the Mighty+. So I purchased it and when I had my first hit it was like ahhh. The flavor smacked me up. I said wow that’s what it really taste like? I was hooked. That was two and a half years ago. Now I own nine devices. I’m never going back to combustion. You get more benefits from vaping with temperature stepping. That way you get more of the terps. You don’t burn them off before you get the benefits. You use less weed or should I say you waste less weed to combustion. My devices saves me money in the long run by using less herb for the same if not better effects. So yeah there’s an initial outlay and you don’t need to do what I did and start with a top of the line 400 dollar device. There’s plenty of good products out there for much less. Keep it green!
I prefer vaping over smoking because im a medical cannabis patient in the UK and vaping is the only way to be legal with medical :D
My friends have no idea what dry herb vaping is. They think it’s carts and they’re all worried about the whole “popcorn lung” thing that happened a few years ago.
I always have to explain how DHV is different from carts and also that those incidents were fake carts.
If using indoors - vaping is way better than smoking if you want to be discreet. I live with an 11 year old. I vape in and breathe out into a Smoke Trap. There are no plumes of smoke spilling into the next room when my door opens. Nobody in this house knows when I partake. I only use ball vapes and bongs after the kid's bedtime.
Same thing. After using ball vapes combustion tastes burnt to me. I guess you get used to it if you smoke and no longer notice it.

I quit smoking after 19 years… I have to thank Dynavap… now I've been vaping for 5 years and the benefits are so many
Dynavap is top-notch and they are good people.
I smoked over 30 years - reason: Nicotine dependence - i realized that there are much better ways to consume my gras over these channels - so thanks a lot and keep going to show people alternatives …
I have been ONLY vaping for like close to 15 years. Literally it's the only way to get fully medicated and still be able to stay active, isn't heavy on the lungs. I would know,I ride a bicycle everyday
I can not wait tell vaping flower becomes more popular.
I bought the terp hammer and yeah it was very spendy how ever I have already made my money back as you said.
my lungs feel cleaner I get way higher on less weed .2g on my ball vape gets me as high as a 1 gram joint if not higher.
the overall smell in my area is way less then smoking as well. everything about ball vapes are a win.
totally agree!
*until
I had this thought many times ❤
One big problem is that a paper of papers costs a dollar, but if someone wants to start vaping, reddit tells them they have to spend $250 on a storz and bickel and all other devices are useless. If they go to a headshop they'll just see a bunch of random overpriced chinese stuff, and they might buy something antiquated or poorly designed. Most people don't want to spend a week scouring the FC forums or watching hours of Pete's reviews. If they buy the wrong product, they've wasted money and are unlikely to try a different product.
For reason number 5 - vaping provides the same level of intensity as smoking, what vaporizing lacks is the chemical byproducts of combustion that people associate with a more intense cannabis high from smoking. It’s not a more intense high, you’re seeking the effects of the byproducts of combustion and this is why some cannabis smokers feel unsatisfied from vaping (this is my two cents)
This
Depending where you live it could take years to recoup the cost of a good vaporizer in savings. In Michigan you can get good enough flower for $20-35 an Oz. That said if you are vaping top of the line flower it will quickly pay for itself.
Dynavap B is $50
1. No need to charge
2. No need to wait on heating up the device
3. No worries about it running out of battery in the middle of a hit
4. No wondering if it's even working or not
5. These devices are expensive as hell
In some rural towns in India, vendors will sell propane for cooking to customers in, what look to me like dry cleaning bags, very thin plastic bags. It works for them. But people who can carry a week's worth in a steel canister don't go back to the plastic bags. (unsure of my point for obvious reasons)
i go back and forth some times for a year or two at a time. in the month since i got my crafty i have only smoked one joint and because that was a free preroll.
I did quit smoking and vaped for 1 full year , then went back to smoking. I can attest the effects of smoking are way stronger and last longer than any vaporizer. Also, being able to light up a joint and smoke instantly versus having to slowly heat up a vaporizer before use makes a huge difference.
I recently quit smoking again and went back to vaping again, but only for health reasons.
@@letmefeelthevibes I don't know that smoking is stronger, just different? It's definitely a dopier high - I think the vaporizer high is 'cleaner' in a sense. If you're looking for that really stoney effect from a vape though, try something that uses a lot conductive heat, e.g. the Taroma 360 (or any ball vape with a heated bowl). I'm sure there's a vape out there for you 😉
Did you ever try a ball vape? I agreed with you 100% until I got my screwball a few months ago. That shit hits as ahrd as any bong imo
Bullshit! I get higher from the vape because it's not getting burnt away into runoff smoke while I cough for 5 minutes from the previous hit. Vaping gently "bakes" the weed and keeps more active (unburnt) ingredients able to be processed by the body better than straight up smoke. Smoking just means that literal SMOKE (ash, debris, carcinogens, etc.) gets into the lungs, it burns my throat well into the next day, it smells disgusting and clings to clothes, etc.
Vaping >>>>>> smoking
huge learning curve for sure.
if u think watching a youtube video and spending 5 minutes is a huge learning curve then ok
not at all even for a dynavap, easy to use
What exactly is the learning curve? I'm curious to hear your experience(s). Excluding certain butane devices (e.g. brick vapes), I think the majority of vaporizers are extremely simple to use - much easier than rolling a joint lol.
Im an ex vaper whos decided to give it another go. My old gear, arizer solo, Q (desktop) vapexhale with hydrobtube, mighty, crafty, volcano non digital. All mid to high end vapes. Over £1600 in vapes. Now onto why i left. I didn't think the flavour was that good tbh. I coughed a lot from vape, i didn't feel like i was getting close to how high a J and Bong gets me. I didn't like such small bowls exc volcano. Having to keep reloading was annoying. Main one imo, i enjoy the experience of a Joint more than the vapes i had. I feel higher and that is partly a tobacco high. I smoke tobacco so the experience is something I've enjoyed for years. Its more natural to hold a long Cig (i smoke tobacco) than any vape. It beat any on demand imo. So if smoking is so great why am i coming back. Im 41, ive smoked since i was 18. Millions of smokers come to that point where enough is enough. Time to actually treat my body better. So im going this route. Wireless ball valve. Anvil xl bowl, fusion, tiny might 2 and something x3 pro. Im tempted to import a dab hammer and pair it with a wireless station. Ace wireless ball vape is out soon. All in all i think thats a mammoth list of vapes thats impossible to go wrong. Forgot about sticky brick OG. On my list too. Im 100% convinced im gonna love vapes this time around. I did stick at it for 8 months. Wasnt like i tried it for a week. I was kinda happy until i hit a J and the Bong again. Im ready to quit smoking and i never want to go back.
From the UK here, the only people I know who prefer smoking over vaping’ don’t pay their own bills or care about their own health. That is my observation, I am not trying to offend anyone.
They haven't tried or bought the right vape. I tried many vapes and it wasn't until my ball vape and puffco peak pro that I finally moved away from combustion completely.
smoking used in 20 century
We are a now consuming the right way
VAS IS REAL❤
Love your work mate keep it up 🇦🇺
Appreciate that!
Its always the bong rips.. once you are used to, its hard to get away and get the same hits.. made it with a ball vape :)
Honestly, smoking doesn't even get me high anymore. It gets me fucked up, but it feels like such an attack on my body, it doesn't feel like a good high. Much prefer vaping, "cleaner" is the only word I can use to describe it
Just started caping it’s all o do now didn’t use to like it love it
I have been a cannabis user for 25+ years and the savings of a dry herb vape like you mention are not true. Buying a dry herb vape is a massive outlay. I bought a tinymight and it took me a whole year to save for and it definitely has not payed for itself. I see so many vapes that are way more expensive than that, I would have to quit weed to buy one so I simply won’t by them.
It depends on what quality of flower you buy. If you buy $400+ an Oz flower you will definitely save quickly. If you are like me and $35 an Oz flower is good enough it will take years.
@@TimRobson30 to be fair though, the TM is one of the most expensive portable vapes available. You definitely don't need to drop that much coin for a solid unit (imo) - especially if you go for something manual/butane-powered
@@jojomang8333 I started with a dynavap but it was garbage so I needed something that hit, that’s why I tried to get a heavy hitter and I still rip 5-6 bowls per session
@@seanroge where I come from you do not get choice also no such thing here as a £25 oz you struggle to get an 8th for that
@@TimRobson30 Michigan has too much supply so prices are insane.
Pretty darn interesting. You should have asked Geppetto for his sources tho'.
Truth!!!!!!! Vaping 💯💚
I 1st tried dry herb vaping back in the late 90s. I didn't really care for it mainly because the taste/flavor was off. Fast forward to today and I exclusively vape raw distillate that I mix with non weed strains flavoring because again, those flavors are off. Without the flavor of the burnt plant material in the mix, it's just not that appealing to me. Same as vaping tobacco flavored ejuice. Without the burnt taste in the mix its just not that good.
Venty takes the crown
My friends always just say that it takes too long and they don’t wanna mess around with anything.
like stoners have important business to attend to lol
Dynavap and venty
I saw no downside to vaping when i switched. I still got a lot of effects from it and tasted insanely better. Ive tried to go back to a bong a few times and it tasted terrible even with a freshly cleaned bong and i didnt get any higher whatsoever.
@@ActNasty5 totally agree!
Yeah it's better vaping, better taste, better effect, but if you used it first like me melted with tobacco, it gets you down as well on your knees to smoke ! Damned tobacco ! 😂
Everyone always talks about how much you save by using a vape but I don't find myself smoking any less with my mininail than i did just taking normal bong rips. The high from my ball vape doesn't last any longer and i use about the same amount of weed as my normal bong it just tastes better.
interesting I don't find that myself
I think the trick is to really make a conscious effort to use less weed, e.g. experimenting with smaller doses. Often vaping is so efficient that even 'micro' doses (
for most people you will end up using much less. I used to smoke like a gram a day. 2 half gram joints. now im vaping probably a .2 or .3 because I just pack half dynavap bowls and its all I need
@@jojomang8333 this is a great comment! Really summarizes it well. Less is truly more with DHVs
I skipped the vape step and went to dabs
haha nice!
I do erigs, dabbing with an Xvape vista mini 2, still running 2years strong with the same original quartz cup, favorite concentrate are live rosin
The question is, how get I out of VAS? 😂😂
I have the boundless tera, it's great but you gotta take a few hits to get it going. And the batteries die so fast. Sometimes it will say it's dead but Ill try to turn it on 3 or 4 times and it will finally heat up and stay on for a few more bowls if I keep it hot. Sometimes I just get so annoyed I just smoke instead. I also have a pax and the battery life is better but still. Dealing with batteries is annoying. Vaping is so much tastier and better for you though. The tera hits like a truck once it gets going.
@@trent12363 thought about trying a butane vape? Don't have to worry about batteries, just bring a lighter 😉
@@jojomang8333 I've never tried one, my friend had one a long time ago but I kinda forgot about those. I'll have to look into them
Nothing beats the flavor from a fatty. A dry pull alone through fatty will make your mouth water, come on now. I have a Venty. It comes close, but no sir a fat loose J 3/4 of the way down is a superior trrpene experience by far.
there are plenty of other reasons why its not as popular as smoking but i think the main one is they havent tryed it.
Another one. 99% of people who smoke cigarettes will only smoke joints. For them, the 2 go hand in hand. I was a cig smoker, and when I finally gave it up, I also gave up joints/bongs, etc.
Reason 6: They don't know about AVB 🍒😉
I think the tar and lack of oxygen hit harder
Combustion is for those who like nostalgia.
Why? Because it takes 3-5 bowls of most portable vapes to get me as high an average size joint. We need bigger bowls with portable vapes. As is I'm done with buying any new vapes until they make one that suits my needs, not theirs.
I would think a volcano / desktop vape would compare to a joint, I heard the volcano bowls are huge. Maybe the cheaper knockoffs would also have a big bowl
@@trent12363 Sure, I have two desktop vapes but the key word was portable. There's is zero reason they can't make a portable vaporizer with a bowl the size of the Plenty.
Take a look at the tinymight2, it even has a beast mode.
Volcano or mighty will work great, just stick with storz and bickel
@@purplepenguin129 You didn't read what I wrote apparently. I have the mighty. The bowl size is a joke.
Man I need to get a ball vape ! I’m globbin along on some jack hammer LR out tha same oz baller jar, out the 3dxl on the peak pro 🦾👏
