- Barry is sent some pretty intriguing Spanish treats to taste test!
Subscribe for regular videos goo.gl/CbsOCc
This is not the first time I have received a food haul of Spanish treats to taste test, the last bunch I had were pretty diverse and quirky, whereas these were a little more sophisticated, I’d had the box for quite a while so they were not the freshest and the folks that sent them were from the Aragon area so a few of the snacks focused on that. This was a fun box opening, and for an Englishman tasting Spanish treats I think I did ok! Remember if you would like to send me treats from your Country use the contact form on www.barrylewis.net.

My Virgin Kitchen is a UA-cam cooking channel I created when I wanted to teach myself how to cook and create a video diary of the journey / mrbarrylewis . I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. Most uploads are how to recipe cooking videos, but some fun is had too on Sunday Funday when anything goes, including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, food gadgets and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let me know! I try my best to reply to as many comments as possible, but please interact with eachother and be respectful :-) #barrylewis - Навчання та стиль
+xXEuronymousXx AJAJAJJAAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAAAAJAJAJAJJJAAJJJAJJJJAJJAJAJAJAJAJ

Falta el buen roscón
jajajaja que gran verdad
Faltan las castañas asadas 😂
Spanish sweets = Almond in every way possible
I'm Spanish, trust me
I haven't eaten any of those sweets but a few although I'm from Spain, you know🌚😂
+Noelia Torres Ikr, most of them are from Aragon and we don't have them elsewhere. They look hard to eat
+ausetano Querida persona, animal o cosa.
+Carlos Balaguer how would you say 'bocachancla' in English? Flip flops mouth? 😂😂😂😂
hey! im from aragon...its impossible to bite adodiques unless you want to end with no teeth hahha they are like big candy sweets and you are suposed to licked them as you would do with a lollipop
+Blanca Ola Was that other thing a candy sweet lolly or soap?
+Defensive Wounds the little one was also candy haha and its flavour which was anis, its an alcoholic drink very popular in spain
+Blanca Ola Is it like Sambuca or Ouzo maybe? And you`re supposed to lick that slab for weeks? :D
+NeoGroFabius yes, it's similar !, and well the best way i know of cutting them in pueces its just throwing it to the floor when it is still in the package haha
Blanca Ola sounds like fun, snacking and releasing stress at the same time ^^
Yo nunca los he probado.
jajajajajaa una tortilla en condicioned 😂
Do I understand this right: You want to go to his house and make a potatoe-tortilla for him? :D
+Unijesscorn yup, thats what he said
you should print out labels for that huge candy brick thing to make it look like a book and just take in on the train and watch peoples faces when you keep licking your "book"
Almendras Garrapiñadas are almonds with sugar and water. Simple and delicious. Hi from Spain!
We eat them in germany too :D greetings!
+vanesa lópez Sounds like the best treat ever
NeoGroFabius it is one of my favs
+vanesa lópez We have those in Mexico too. But usually with peanuts. Just candied nuts, basically.
+vanesa lópez THROW THEM IN ICECREAM! :D
Estaba claro que ganaban las garrapiñadas xD
Jaja era obvio
+canaldecasta jajajaj yaveee+
+canaldecasta
You can get those pebbles, in jars, at most UK seaside town Barry, you not seen them? :P
I'm from Spain and I'm actually happy that you got sent traditions treats and sweets. Btw, the best thing about getting an "adoquín" was that you actually were getting "candy for a week". :)
Do more of this, it is just awesome
The "adoquin" is a big candy. Great video. Like
You have set the Spanish language back 100 years! Funny video!
Hilarious videos!! hahaha I really enjoyed man!! it's very funny to see someone of another country who is tasting snacks and other products which every spaniard is used to eating!
The little adoquin was Anís flavored. Here in Spain that flavor is a very common one in candies, it comes from a licuor made of the fruit of a plant called anís, from which the name comes from :)
The second one you tried, I tasted in my Spanish lesson and I love it!
I mean I tried the 4th one
I still love these Tasting (different country) videos. Awesome!
+Sleezgaming Cheers i'm trying to do a new one each Month this Year rota'd between mini food, giant food and something random
My Virgin Kitchen That's great. Then I am already hiped up :)
+My Virgin Kitchen giant size pebble look-a-like sweets?
:)
wow they look so cool defo going to try keep it up barry
so the nuts tasted better than the anis? 😂
+Matt N hahaha
+Matt N - I'd guess "anis" is anise / aniseed.
TheMrVengeance heres me thinking it was arse flavoured.
Matt N - People enjoy stranger things. You never know. ;)
you're so funny...I laughed so hard thru the whole video!!
In this video you ate candies that we usually eat in christmas.
The Spanish candies look amazing---I'm so jealous!
What was the treat at the end with the poem on the package, some type of turron maybe?
okay I'll try hard to see if I can get some stuff like American sweets or rare etc
Your funniest video yet.
I will battle you over Spanish Snacks, a true VERSUS
I really enjoy seeing your facial reactions to when you're tasting some of the treats from around the world, Berry.
+Joe Thomas cheers Joe, like a baby trying food for the first time
My Virgin Kitchen Especially with some that you REALLY enjoy, right. Also thank you for producing GREAT videos from Nova Scotia, Canada.
Can I say this has been up for 4 minutes and look at everything
You learned to say hello and order a beer in Spanish. Now all you need is "where's the bathroom" and you're set lol. B.t.w where I live we have those pebbles but they're chocolate. :) They're expensive though.
alexxC37 no no no no
"When we go cinema with my kids there's popcorn everywhere" as a cinema worker, this upsets me.
I love how you make everything a false friend
Barry just curious. have you tried the Hazelnut Snickers yet??
the tall guy from the massive food episodes needs to come in more, it was cool you having a partner with you cooking.
they sell those stone sweets everywhere. i used to scare my siblings when i was younger.
+woollen hat lol i'd never seen them before
I must ask, How many times have you been sent "Surströmming" or "Lutfisk" from Sweden?
"This package is like an orange Christmas tree" OMG that's a virgin xDDDDDDD
The good thing about Spain is that the cooking is so different depending in which region you are. Aragón is in the northside of Spain, if you move to the east you'll reach Catalonia, with a totally different food and traditions. Besides, Andalusia, Pais Vasco and Galicia have great culinary traditions too, you'll have to come here to check it out though.
oh my god peladillas! I'm from Aragón and I had so much fun watching this video. My grandmother allways has peladillas to give me, she has been doing it all my life! And she does almendras garrapiñadas herself when we harvest the almonds. Polvorones are usually eated in christmas, you should try to say "Pamplona" with one in your mouth...
The "christmas tree" is la Virgen del Pilar LOL
I'm glad you liked the food by the way! :D
The peladillas are sweets you have to lick until you get to the center
+Chusi García Latorre What can be found in the middle?
+Marc Weller usually almonds ☺️
+Marc Weller an almond! :D greetings from Spain ^^
+Anna Gonzalez , Estela Alcázar Sounds great! Parts of my family are living on the baleares, maybe I find it there so I can taste it :)
+Marc Weller yeah I'm sure you will because it's one of the few things fron the video that are typical from all the country (and in my opinion, one of the best ones haha)
Aqui faltan nevaditos.
Can you try to find a recipe for the stones at some point? Thanks
+Coolmonkeys Cake haha that would be awesome
Well, I love this type of videos so please do more of this
My coworker brought over some Polvoron from the Philippines. It was so good!
Those rocks. I really miss them. I can't find anywhere in north Europe
Would I be able to send you stuff from Australia
thank you for sharing.
What do those CC mean that show up under your videos? Awesome video really enjoyed it, love your tasting treats videos :)
+Chunk Pilot closed captions, UA-cam tries to create captions (or subtitles) of every video and they are awful. So I sit and type them out properly. It takes a long time for videos this length but hope it helps.
+My Virgin Kitchen Wow, that's a lot of work to do! I don't use subtitles that much, but people that do are probably very happy! Thank you for doing that!!
+Chunk Pilot yes, yes I am! Thank you My Virgin Kitchen !
Viva Kingdom of Aragon!
loved the first one, this is just up there with it! hahaha adoquin translates to brick, you probs know why it's called that by now hahaha
I am also from Aragon and you made me laught a lot...and that xmas tree is a virgin lol
Make deep fried Oreos like this so Barry sees it
Most of those sweets are eaten while you have a hot coffee... niiiiice. :3
🇪🇸Buenos Dias Barry! 🇪🇸
*sings* My mind's tellin' me, "NO!", but my body's tellin' me...DEEZ NUTS!
Hello
I am in Plymouth and the 2nd one reminds me of Fry's" Turkish Delight. A jelly covered in chocolate, But the stalk me think Cherry? I remember "stone" sweets here in Cornwall when we went canoeing when I was a kid. I think they were a holidaymaker thing
Polvorones are the best!
By the way, you really nailed it on the Jota part :D
+CloudyNebula haha thanks
Again a nice video, Barry - thanks! :-)
I'm really, really curious about that 'cheesy-like' treat in shape of a muffin or cupcake.
What is it about? Did you get it in the meantime? ;-)
+erm0n i'm trying to find out!
"this s a nice bar of anis" Hahaha lmao
😍 I like it
Aragon fruits are like candied fruit covered with chocolate, almendra is almond, and almost all sweets here in Spain are based in it... :P
I never knew we have lifesavers in Britain I thought we had polos
+Holly Wallace Lifesavers are a lot less common but they are made by Wrigleys whereas Polos are made by Rowntrees
Were they from Spain or Mexico?
Barry id love to send some stuff but youre from england and so am i so wasnt sure what to send can you help or suggest what you would like me to send you
+Ben Smith it's ok mate I can get the English stuff :)
you can get the sweet pebbles in England, I would get them as a kid when i visited Hastings beach, I loved pretending to eat pebbles.
Hey Barry, could you do a Bread & Butter Pudding Recipe please! Let me know if you can mate!
Thanks!
It's so funny see people from around the world eating spanish food (I'm spanish)
Ouh, new Intro....... NNNNNICE!!!! ^^
I'm from spain, and I didn't knew the existance of some of those treats XD. Great video!!
+Diego Lluva oh right cool, I think or should I be worried lol
+My Virgin Kitchen haha don't be worry about that, is just because some of them are exclusive from a determinated region of spain, and as I'm from Madrid I didn't knew some of those treats were typical from Aragón
+Diego Lluva if you are not from Aragon, its normal you don't know them! hahaha I do, I know all of those treats XD
Really? Im from Spain too and I do know all of them 😹😹
omg your pronunciation is so good hahaha
Video muy gracioso y respetuoso :)
I like this video better than the other one. Just because usually when you see this kind of videos they eat junk food. These were traditional spanish treats.
Turrón. For Christmas. It’s either soft or hard, chocolatey with nuts, or without nuts.always almonds
Yummy!
I really want to try the adoquines because I LOVE orange and it would be cool
+Monsieur Jebus I have some adoquines in my house. Do you want some? ;) (sorry for my english)
TheMaxxD casavideo how much?
Hello i'm from dpain and all of this food are typical from Christmas dates
Barry, the best thing in Aragon is "trenza de Almudevar" What a pity Miguel and Paco didn't send to you!
DEEZ NUTZ! Lmao 😂😂😂
LOL at CC during Poem
You have to prove spanish omelete!!! It's so good!! And migas!!!!
Respects from Zafra (Extremadura, Spain)
almu quesada Yess, I'm Spanish living in Switzerland and I really miss olives, the ones in the supermarket here don't taste good
Just wished you still done giant food! But good video 😛
As usually, very interesting and entertaining! In Ukraine we've got sweets which look really similar to the first three types and second one is usually attributed to some Eastern sweets, so it is a little weird to see them as Spanish...
It would have been nice if they had sent you a little description and instructions on how to eat most of this things since, for instance, I suffered seeing you lick the candy slab at the end instead of breaking a small peace before even trying it. Hilarious, though.
Nice video, here you have a follower from España
When I was in Spain, I had Polvorones ,... But I freakin` loved them....
I´ve never seen any of these treats and I´m from Madrid. I guess it is a kind of regional Aragón food.
I'm Spanish, I really love the Frutos de Aragón, This sweet doesn't have jelly inside, they have Candied Fruit inside😃 +My Virgin Kitchen
Barry have you never been to the seaside? They sell those sweet rocks/stones by the kilo. used to love them as a child.
+ChickenEyebrowPS3 I live by the seaside never seen them!
+My Virgin Kitchen not got an old school sweet shop? Pretty much every seaside town I've ever been to has had a shop selling every hard sweet imaginable including jars of stones that are edible
Here in Spain, polvorones are traditionally eaten in Christmas :)
the crhistmas tree is the virgin Mary hahahhah
the one you thought was soap made me laugh so much XD
and Boston trying to eat the nut 😂😋
+Jemmas GuineaPigCorner I genuinely think it's soap!
inside frutos de aragon there're "sidra"
