This was so interesting! Would you do a video of what your job involves as an AD? And how you make the call sheets and shot lists etc? The behind the scenes as it were 🤓

I’m 14 and really want to be part of the film industry when I’m older as an Assistant director/director or an editor. I’m from the UK aswell so I was wondering what university you went to to get your specific degree? My achool’s making us look into university’s early so I’m looking at specifically film schools

I’m 16 from the UK and want to be in the film or tv industry. I either want to be a casting director or an assistant director, but I really don’t know where to start.

I just started my career as a 1st AD and I love it. It’s hard work, but I’m passionate about it and wouldn’t want it another. I’m looking forward to working on international film sets as a 1st AD. Well done for this video ❤️

I'm a commercial director and I've always wanted to do a video kinda like this. It's just a lot of work, to be honest. Keep it up

Rand J Thank youuu!! 😭😭 I’ve got a couple cool one’s coming! But I’m working a lot as well at the moment, so there is a bit of a longer gab between them. But I’d rather have good content then more and stuff I don’t 100% like. Thanks for sticking with me! 💗✨

Loved your video, it looked so awesome the whole set. I have a question, I am wanting to be an A.D. while on my goal to directing. Is being an A.D. similiar to an operations manager. How to you learn with no experience in that role? I would appreciate any information.
I have had experience as a p.a. and all around helping out the director in anyway possible.

Earnbud Hi there, thanks for watching my video! Where are you from? I live in London and I’m not sure what the term operation manager means, it’s not used in fiction over here. To be an AD is starting out as a runner wherever you can. Or as a personal assistant helps as well. It’s good to find smaller projects and practice ADing. Whilst being on the big sets as a runner to see how the ‘grownups’ do it. Try to find student projects or short films to work and learn. Also ADing is very technical, while a lot of people confuse this with the next step to directing, you are his right hand. And 1AD is as far as it goes. To be able to direct you should try do smaller projects as well. As it’s something totally different then ADing. - this is just a glimpse of what is out there. It’s also good to do some kind of course or do film studies. That way you learn and make contacts. But there is no right way, just try try try, work super hard and never ever give up upon your dreams. GOOD LUCK!

Hey I’m an 18 year old student from Germany and I was always interested in filmmaking and stuff. The problem is that I don’t have any experience in that line of work and I don’t know anyone either. So do you have any advice on what the best way to get jobs (e.g. like as a PA) is? Do they just take people without experience like me? And where would I find a job like that? My plan is to basically just work my way up but I don’t know how and where to start :/ I would really appreciate it if you could help me out.

a lot of unis will accept you for film degrees if you did well at a levels, reguardless of what subjects your a levels were. you can check a uni course's entry requirements on their website.
idk much about entering the industry with no formal education in film, but i think it's possible. definitely research that if you don't wanna go to uni.
