    When shooting lighted nocks it not just weight but it some cases from the throat of the nock to your shaft can differ depending on the nocks you shoot on your arrow that at non lighted. When is comes to tune your bow and arrow make one setup and tune for that setup. Many make this mistake right before hunting season and they need practice with there lighted nocks, than they wonder why they got a bad shot or missed!! Alway check your gear and stay in tune!!

    These nocks really light up my life but not as much and the slick new do.
    Another good video Josh. My nocturnal G-nock fit a little loose in my pierce shaft. Couple dabs of hairspray or nail polish worked for a tighter fit. But awesome point glad I checked mine sooner before season instead of a nock pulling out of the shaft on a hunt.

    Great video, can you do a follow up and go into detail what makes a good lighted nock? I know you have given praise to nockturnal, but any other brand you would recommend? Thanks

    Yup, definitely didn’t think about the fitment on the string and the size of the nock. Glad I watched this.

    When I first started watching I thought it was the year 1999 and I was looking in a mirror headed off to Warp Tour !! Love the hawk, wish I could pull that off but I had two kids and have obtained a birds nest 🪹 situation.
    Oh I would greatly appreciate some sweet lighted nocks as we are approaching sweet September. 🤘 Keep being great

    I like using them, especially for turkey hunting. I do test shoot mine on my hunting arrows with broadheads and usually impact isn't different out to 50-60 yards.

    I have used lighted nicks for a while. What I did was hit the hardware store and buy #2 wood screws and glue them into my regular nocks so the weighed the same. Now I can practice with nocks that weigh the same and save battery for lighted nocks!!

  • @noneyabusiness4325
    @noneyabusiness4325 2 роки тому

    when I replaced my strings recently I did my soft knots and Dloop based on the nockturnal. For practice I shoot a pin nock bushing and a pin nock. It weighs 3 grains less than the nockturnal and I’m not good enough to notice that difference under 50yds anyway.

    Good video MFJJ and like the Mohawk!! Would have been nice to see you shoot 3 arrows with regular nocks and 3 with lighted nocks just to show how much difference there was and also noted the yardage! Thx.

    The nock tension might not match, but I cut, filed and glued copper wire inside my standard nocks to match my lighted nocks. There was absolutely a different flight and impact point between standard and lighted!

    Mohawk = BA-MFJJ
    Any thoughts on what the extra weight on the backend would do to an arrow spine if you were right on the line of too weak? Would it push it over the edge to require a stiffer spine? Or work the opposite?

    • @robertseibert3887
      @robertseibert3887 2 роки тому

      Opposite, up front weakens…weight out back, stiffens.

    We use nocturnals at our shop and they're awesome but take a look a Glory Nock. They were developed by the same guy who invented nocturnals and he came up with Glory Nocks after he sold it to Feradyne. Super easy on/off and they're lighter than nocturnals.

    Great video on lighted knocks. As a freshman archer, I don't see the great advantage to lighted knocks other than to see them in flight but, that's at the expense of arrow speed and FOC. Can you do a video to elaborate on lighted knocks, their setup and uses? I'll be in the Panhandle of ID elk hunting in September...your shop will be on speed dial just in case I have issues! Thanks for all the great content.

    I like the idea of shooting lighted nocks, however, they are quite expensive, a bit of a pain to turn off, plus you must, as you said, plan in advance to use them. As a side note, there must have been over a hundred dollars worth of nocks in the bucket, yet I enjoyed the nighttime fireworks. Thanks. O, the new look is interesting. Best wishes!
