A good padang restaurant in singapore. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants around. As indonesian, I recommended this Restaurant.
im constantly amazed how sg presented their brief adopted heritage as their own in an elegant manner.
in indonesia, most coverage of long-established eatery shows dirty rundown restaurants or in some dingy little corner. it doesnt spell prosperity or enthusiasm for the products&process, very hard to rile up the interest of younger generations to continue.
in contrast the padang resto featured here looks neat, hygienic, hip and full of prospects.

@@pepelepew1227 I have been to a legendary mom and pop restaurant in Batu. President Jokowi went there for lunch. Some old school street food vendors are also dirty with flies all around, but people still line up to eat there. I think if you're local, you're immune already.

I ate there one time back in 2013. As a native Minang and living in Padang, West Sumatera most of my life, I was surprised by how traditional it taste. Usually Padang Restaurant owner alter the tast a little bit to macth the local.
Susah mancari nasi padang yg authentic di siko. Awk karajo di singapur. Ado warung nasi padang tp tau2 urg Boyan nan punyo. Putuih salero awk dek raso nyo antah apo🤦

Wak jo gadang di Gombak... inyek laki2 wak tukang songkok di Kampuang Baru. Jiko ke Taman Melati, taruih jo ka Simpang Tigo Gombak tampeknyo penempatan urg minang. Sapanjang jln nyo rumah mkn padang.

Did you try Sabar Menanti down the road from there..? I prefer that. The food is more traditional than here, as they still cook it themselves.. Whereas Rumah Makan Minang already relinquish the cooking to hired help 🙃 The owners of RMM and Sabar Menanti are siblings.. the older sister owns Sabar Menanti. I prefer that 🙂 Uda saya dulu urang Minang jugak suka. Haha I cannot speak Minang, sorry..

Sa sdah pigi rasa makan di kedai ni mmang OK dr kedai2 sekitar dia lain di Kg Glam sna & just very crowded when during peak lunch hour XD btw I'm from asal Labuan fly 🛫from there than via KK ke Singapore Kerja 2 months sna back in 2018 & lot of sweet memory during a short-time period working there 😊👍

Padang cuisine there are many countries famous for its taste, especially rendang number 1 in the world ... If the taste is the best, you have to visit Padang Sumatra Barat Indonesia ... Originally I was there ...

The rendang is a must eat. But don't forget the sambal belado. Best to get extra sambal belado. 😋

Padang food is literally everywhere in Indonesia! But I would love to try one in Singapore. Perhaps the taste evolved differently somewhat?
It may vary depending on the chef and ingredients but u r right, it's everywhere in Asia and they have their own variants e.g chicken rice, OG Hainan style, Sg Style, Thai style etc.. same with Ayam penyet.. through word of mouth and local social media like this, KF seetoh, damn worth it, ieatishootipost, Singapore foodie, Seth lui and miss tam chiak.. some of the food there is good, it's hit and miss depending on quality consistency.. note: hokkien mee in general have 3 style, Malaysia style which not familiar (whatsoever), thick sauce with egg noodles and thick rice noodles and dry/less sauce with egg noodles and thin rice noodles.. lastly chicken rice in Sg have 2 variations depending where u go: 1. white and roast chicken.. 2. It's no. 1 and mixed with Cantonese style roast meats with char siew pork roast duck with wonton soup etc.. The ones with Michelin star like hawker Chan and tian tian chicken rice is overrated.. But chicken rice restoran like boon tong kee and bak kut teh dish by song fa restaurant is good despite being franchise and still good despite one of them have Michelin star.. u have to look and ask around for certain food dishes.. there a nasi lemak place called coconut club it's pricey but nice N good for my standards, not in general..

Alhamdullilah saya bru ternampak IDA yg dlu nya kami pra Pelaut dari medan Indonesia,singgah makan di kedai nasi dpan kami mnginap di rumah wak haji yg punya anak ANGKAT namanya si SRI DI TAHUN 70 AN, pda waktu itu nasi campur dngan rendang 60 cent je ,smoga Ida bersama kluarga shat2 dan Sucses sllu Aamiin.

Their beef rendang is pretty tough and hard to chew. But the rest of the dishes + chili are pretty awesome.

oh my neighbors, would u pls try to eat nasi padang with your hands please. that's what we mostly do as indonesian, and i ensure u that is one of the best life experience ever. siram kuah kari ke kerupuk rambak, cemek2 bumbu rendang + sambel ijo ke nasi panas, suap bareng. best.

@but why laughable. Rendang probably. Whenever food is compared, I went to all the “best” chicken rice stores in Malaysia be it Penang, Malaka, or nasi lemak it’s all meh meh honestly. Even char kway teow that are touted as the best top 3 in Malaysia I ate before its meh meh. Heck even power nasi lemak or Chong Pang nasi lemak is better. Tian tian Hainanese chicken rice also better than what I ate before as top 3-5 in Malaysia. I went to those from the blogs but realised those may not be accurate and I went along with my malaka friends. It’s honestly meh meh. I went deep even into the villages of malaka but the Lok Lok is good in village and KL noodles. Surprisingly KL noodles is better I. Malaka Lol. Taste is subjective, you grown up with malaysian food that is the best for you. What is best to us is shit to you vice versa.
There’s always a reason why Singapore always ranked top in food. Perhaps step out of your bubble and know that taste is subjective.

Paya kumbuh .padang .ku pernah tinggal di sana 5 tahun .bikin rendang makan waktu 5 jam.. sekarang ku di singapur 22 tahun bikin rendang waktunya cukup 1 jam . Saja . Nanti ku mau coba rendang nya mak cik di singapur sebelum puasa.
