Ok
When government increasing our cost of living there still kind people who sell food for those can afford $1 👍👍👍
residentgood ikr fuck pap
Actually in Malaysia ...people moans when there's a hawker that sells Nasi Lemak for RM2...
Yes Malaysians Nasi lemak usually sells around RM1/RM1.5
And this makcik sells for 1SD is actually good...there's room for profit(a whole lot more than people selling at Malaysia) and the neighborhood likes it too....
Lol we sell 1.50 michelin star food wdym were the best at food
1$ is still expensive in south east asia
@@overcomingsins6334 goodness, not when you live in Singapore.... Bet you've never been here
I don't usually make the effort to comment but I feel there is a need to in this case. Please keep making videos telling such heartwarming stories of everyday Singaporeans.
It's a refreshing change from the usual spew from the larger and more popular SG channels! Very well-edited and I like how the video was entirely focused on them, without any intermediaries.
Thanks for the support!

Now they are selling at $1 with ikan bilis, 2 small slices of egg, 1 slice of cucumber and sambal but without the fish. And $1.50 with fish. It’s still cheap.
Wah Lao my school bowl of noodles $2 I go there now for lunch then hah😂
How to make money?
They are willing to make less for the benefit of the old folks in the area. This is return in kind to society.
If you were to do the business, would probably increase the price to at least $2:50 or $3:50

The one with fish is still $1, same like the one with ikan bilis, it is only $1.50 if you have both fish and ikan bilis.

im interested in why she had to close her stall in the first place
There could be other reason behind this. Just like a coin - it have both tail and head.

Many retired elderly who once work in office line find themselves back to work be it a dish washer or a McDonald's staff due to drastic increase price on daily things in Singapore. This was before the Convid-19 outbreak.

I love this couple for being so kind and generous, their story is so touching. Although, the thing about the customers kind of rubs me the wrong way. She wanted to stop because she was tired, but her customers messaged her to keep running so they could get food for cheap.

I love the videos that Our Grandfather Story makes, and it would be great if the UA-cam channel could be kept as updated as the other social media outlets like Facebook. Oops! 😝We will work harder this year to update on time!
To all who are about to comment "SG$1 converted to my country currency is A LOT, I can buy XX plates of rice in my hometown, etc"... Please remember u have to compare with respect to the amount u earn. Example is u earn RM3000, u would think RM1 is not expensive. But if u do the same work but be paid in Singapore SG$3000, then SG$1 is not expensive. Bcoz the cost of labour/rental/etc are also in SG which is higher.. meaning if the food cost 3 times lesser in your currency, but u also earn 3 times lesser in your currency (for the same work) then it would be a more valid comparable.
75% discount if u cook yourself @ home... excluding electricity, water n gas....
...bcoz most M'sian live in another backyard galaxy, they thought only they've sun & moon...& of coz d martians r jealous of them...
God bless this lovely lady I hope everyone flocks to her shop to support her and bless her kindness with abundance

For those of you who are going to say that the nasi lemak is expensive , learn the economic term * purchasing power parity * before commenting.
The video is about cheap nasi lemak in SINGAPORE. Other countries with weak currencies , calling it expensive is just unfair and uneducated. This also explain why they are still staying in poor countries.
Your last sentence is abit harsh.
Why be rude for no reason? Living in first world country doesn't mean you can look down on others not from first world country.
@@TeleeFONE exactly. I myself as a Singaporean, sometimes feel that Singaporeans are abit arrogant especially towards citizens from a developing nation. This just really proves us as having a third world mentality even though we are living in a developed country.
@@um4rr not a bit arrogant but a lot, you go Johor can see how snobbish these people act. Because of the arrogant ones, other citizens think all Singaporeans is like that.
That's kind of harsh to assume their comments with "staying in poor countries".
I mean, that's their understandings on "Dollar-To-TheirCountry's currency".
So, appreciate their point of views and commented on that, not labelling them for being "poor".

$1 singapore is alot...in malaysia standard,or even indonesia if convert to their currency
but different country price of goods, shop rental not the same
U can't summarize it that way. Unless you are travelling to SG for few days only.
You can’t simply convert currency when you’re spending in other countries ya know. In that case you’ll probably end up eating maggi at your house everyday
I'd gladly spend 1 dollar on just the rice with an egg,
