I'm using the standard Ununtu Linux 22.10 but non Music Studio. I was attracted by pipewire and wireplummer in the build by default. In my first few days of using MS4 after using MS3 for a few days, I also had a lot of crashes and trouble getting sound to work. After days of system tweaks and sound stream manipulation the program is now stable. I can work in it all day and hammer on it without a crash. I use Behringer for the midi-audio interface and Korg Triton Extreme as my controller and sequencer. While the MuseHub does not sound nearly as good as the Triton with it's rich samples and intensely fine control, MuseHub sounds a LOT better than the "common" sounds used in MS3. At this point in time as I'm still learning the MS4 interface, the Re-editing of a measure tries my patience to the extreme. I end up erasing the measure completely and re-writing it.

Yeah. I think this would be a whole lot more tolerable if they had released this more softly on the web page as a beta/buggy testing release. I know that they were already doing this on their development pages... but to release something that requires "days of system tweaks and sound stream manipulation" for many folks to barely function as the 'next gen' full release... that's asking for trouble.

@@i-scoresmusic3928 The effort I went through is likely more due to my primitive experience with sound streams on Linux. All applications suffer from these initial connectivity issues. Right now I do not look too deeply into the free horse's mouth and consider this a learning experience.

Hey Carl, thanks for uploading. Do you use Ardour for writing the midi parts, or do you write them in musescore 3.6? And another thing i know, a violin or a slide trombone can glide from one note to another octave note higher without the semitones being played. I cannot find the articulation for that in the pallets. The full bend does not seem to work for me.
    Anyway, thanks for sharing...Jean

I export midi data from musescore notation when I midi sequence. I use Qtractor for my sequencer as I have found Ardour to be unstable on my systems. I believe that there currently are no pitch bend feature or samples in Musescore 4.
