Installation of Utile Maax & American Bath Factory shower kit

Today is day 1 of installing a Utile Maax Metro,
and an American Bath Factory Del Mar shower kit.
Both bathrooms floors are unlevel and the framing is not plum.
Watch day 2 for connecting the drain and installing the walls

Good overview. I'm looking to rebuild a shower myself due to original poor installation practices.
I like the first drain better that is solvent welded. It is harder to line up though. Reason being the rubber gasket (the one under the flange not the pipe) requires replacing over time due to dry rot etc. As a landlord I had to replaced several over the years. For the 2nd one you'd have to tear out the whole pan if its on a slab or you get to cut open the ceiling underneath if you lucky. The 1st one you can disconnect from the top and replace when necessary.

I'm installing the same base. My question was answered (kind of) with gluing/joining of the base drain and the house pipe. If you glue it all together, how do you remove it if there is ever an issue with the base?

What specific shower base did you use with the Utile walls? We are about to install a utile shower and I have read some bad reviews if the utile shower pan. Wondering if utile walls are compatible with another brand.

Please dont cool your solder joints like that! It can cause micro cracks in your joints and leak over time

And if it’s vertical it’s called PLUMB not level,level is horizontal!!!!
