This is a really good video, and the animations/drawings are ideal for showing the design of the system. I like that you have used individual vents rather than wet-venting the fixtures. Even though it is a little more effort, it seems like a lot more reliable and cleaner method of providing adequate venting. Thank you for creating and posting this video!
Man, you know your stuff ! Your explanations and diagrams are second to none. Thanks for making this video and please continue to do so. I gave you a thumbs up and subscribed.
Great video,im a plumber from Baltimore, it has been rare to say the least in all the complete trash I've found on UA-cam that your video was so spot on. There are more ways to do the same rough-in and if you introduce flood level rim at it's height of 42" or optional 6" above the fixture being served it would round out a very well explained video. Nicely done
One more quick tip, if your vent goes straight up through the plate line, it's a good idea to offset the vanity vent so there is no conflict with the electrician's light box.
Typically the entire drain, including the vent, is going to be offset a few inches from the centerline of the sink to allow the required p-trap to be installed under the sink during the finish. If the centerline of the sink is used as the location where the waste line is accessed, it leaves very little room to install the trap and is going to make for a messy looking finish.
Thank you! It's so hard to get clear, understandable diagrams and information that's not full of plumbing jargon. We are in the stages of trying to figure out if it's feasible to DIY a bathroom in our basement. I've looked at dozens of videos and this is the only one that made sense to me.

@@TeamKevin31 easy, you don't have to tie in with so many lateral lines. Fewer fittings and pipe. One 3 or even a 2 inch vent pipe off the back of the toilet vents the whole room. It's in the SE plumbing code.
Is there a diagram that shows this? The issue is a vent needs to be placed above the fixtures traps normally above a sanTee so they have to be tied in to the main vent somehow.
@@RubbinRobbin yes there is a diagram, but I don't know how to load it for this reply. Normally you are correct, the old code for the SE is the same as this video shows. But if you can imagine a 3 inch pipe going straight up from the toilet in the wall instead of 2 or 1 1/2. No lateral tie ins required. Also the sink goes straight in to the 3 inch above the floor about 18 inches.
you can wet vent an entire bathroom through an 1 1/2" vent off the lav. 3x2 y ->2x1/12 Y. 3" run picks up toilet, 2" run picks up lav and 1 1/2 branch picks up tub/shower.
This is a perfect route to go!! I still have problems!! Gergaling when any time you use the toilet! I have one 2” pipe through the opening above out right beside the whirlies on the roof!!
