My happiest moment in this vlog is saying Stacey has been watching Below Deck Med. That became my go-to during lockdowns. Absolutely love it, especially seeing it as a flight attendant and thinking of the usual drama combined with living with your colleagues. I also think we immediately need a vlog of you meeting up with Aesha!
Very insightful to see how different is the perception of this pandemic over there, Here in Germany we experienced something like your level 4 lockdown for 6 months straight and during winter . You guys are lucky and should be always grateful 🙏
That’s exactly how I felt too. In Maine, I remember watching their videos touring nz and trying *samples*?! Samples had been gone for half a year at that point for us - still not back :(

My husband and I have loved your videos throughout our 3 Canadian lockdowns for the last year and a half. I want to let you know how thankful we have been to see your adventures in NZ throughout these shitty times. We, like you both, have been trying to stay positive although it is trying at times I will admit. Anyways, thank you again for your hours of entertainment in our Canadian home for a very long time! I can’t believe this…soo I too found the fancy coffee hack during OUR lockdown last year!! I’ve got the nespresso milk Frother but instead of maple syrup, I add vanilla when she’s spinning her frothy goodness. :) I’ll try yours! Also don’t ever feel you need to entertain us by doing a lot. We can watch you guys make a bed and talk about carrot cake and it’s like visiting our friends :)

You captured the lockdown mood perfectly. My walk around the block is a daily highlight. FYI 7K steps is enough 😁. I live on The North Shore now but I used to live in Onehunga & run/cycle around Cornwall Park back in the day. Great memories thx.
We are in lockdown no 6 in Melbourne and it was a snap for seven days and we are upto seven weeks. we go for walks in our 1 hour window but that makes us look good when looking at what Dane's exercises are for his back - too hard Mental Health is a must during these times so make sure that you are aware of RUOK
So bizarre that Y'all have such different covid protocols. I so apprecoate it. In the US, it's just never going to end. I teach and the policy is that if a kid has covid only the kids that sit within 3 feet of them in their main seat are quarantined briefly. Nobody else they may have been in contact with, and because most teachers are vaccinated they generally don't quarantine unless symptomatic. Just in my county there are hundreds of cases daily. It's so frustrating. Also, I've never seen this trigger point ball... so thanks for that! I got one and it's literally the first time in months I'm not struggling to sleep because of lower back pain!!

The number of people who have been fully or at least partially vaccinated against Covid-19 seems to be rapidly rising in NZ now - hopefully this will eventually prevent further lockdowns! Keeping my fingers crossed for you - here in Germany case numbers are much higher, but so far no new lockdown.

Hi there from Manchester, UK. Love your videos and your spectacular country, hopefully me and my family will be able to visit one day. Nz and the UK are polar opposites when it comes to the pandemic. We've vaccinated 89percent of the adult population but still have up to 40k cases daily but we've barely got any restrictions now. Huge difference in approach. Take care and keep up the good work.

We just got though our 14 days of home quarantine due to close contact. It was hard not being able to go out side for walks and we almost ran out of food. Stacey you should try the haircut again.

I put that sugar free maple syrup on my protein oats i didnt think of putting it in my coffee! Yus im gonna try that. Hope your lockdown goes well guys. Take one day at a time and its okay to have those down days. :)
It cracks me up that in New Zealand we just have random sheep and cows in the middle of our biggest metropolitan city 😂 and Auckland weather ha ha ha ha ha!
...and a sprinkle of paprika, 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric, and marjoram or thyme on the chicken first. Then add the veg and finally if you want to really level up cut 2 inch pieces of bacon and just throw them in to the mix too. You won't need any salt if you do the bacon and those spices are really good for you. Hang in there. Thanks for sharing!

Lynmall reopened but not Countdown - it's not known when truly it will trade again - there were thoughts that would happen on Saturday. And no I wasn't down there on the fateful arvo. Almost a month down,so this time wasn't so bad,because of our previous practice runs...but the absolute worst thing is no gym,so the body's been falling apart after several weeks of couch potato activities,like eating junk food (a must),drinking alcohol (a must),and watching travel vlogs (Peter and Yen are a must ! Gotcha ! But seriously,those 2 are good). Biggest decision this week is buying a home gym,so that's gonna be a squat rack,Smith machine,bench,and weights - any change from 3 grand will go on Waikato Draught,haha. You 2 training has made my decision to buy weights etc,a must. Also,I'm thinking of installing a camera where the coffee cups are as well,hehe. Maybe next upload,you 2 could do a cooking vlog ?

Are you bracing for the worst? This whole situation is terrible, but the fact you have such low vaccination compared to most other places in the globe is very worrying with just how fast and easy the delta variant spreads. I got a job in NZ, but I am doubtful that it will be possible for anyone to immigrate for a very longtime. We had lock down in Denmark for over a year.
They are vaccinating large groups now. Difficult to believe the World's big pharma can't provide more vaccines throughout the world more quickly for those that want them. This in itself I find a bit suspicious. As an asthmatic and carer I was vaccinated almost 3 mths ago in a very rural part of NZ, so booster shots will be an issue in a few mths. The cohort that got them early are the oldest and most vulnerable & their carers. So when they open the borders, the inevitably lower AntiBody response may again endanger the most vulnerable. When I got the vaccine, I thought I was home and hosed, but that was before many people had heard of Delta. While at least important as a delaying factor, vaccines may not be everything as the virus mutates. Vit D is also an important likely protector and at least NZ has pretty much the highest UV levels in the world over summer (as an insurance most of us light to medium brown shade skinned folks at least can assimilate that Vit more easily thru sunlight). NZ is vulnerable because we have had very low health expenditure on things like ICU wards and training in the past with both major sets of Government political groupings. The ' She'll be right ' attitude that many overseas people find appealing about Kiwis, may bite us in the bum. Anyway, thanks for the extra vaccines Spain! If you drill a hole thru the Earth in Auckland's suburb of Manurewa, you'll end up in the south of Spain, exactly in Seville! This shows how global this wretched virus is.
As Rick said below, lots of changes in the past few weeks during the lockdowns. They've massively increased the vax push and we should be close to 80% soon thankfully!
No worries mate. I'm pasting this from a message I sent to a friend so it's easier, but it's long: I make 5-7 servings for a week of lunch, so it's 1.5kg or so. Cooking is either 4 hours on high (cut breast into thirds) or overnight on slow (whole breasts). - Half a jar of curry paste - whole jar of salsa - 2 carrots (shaved is yum) - 2 onions - 3 capsicums - some curry powder or any other herbs spices you feel like - teaspoon of ginger (jar stuff) - teaspoon of crushed garlic (jar stuff) Veges directly into the slow cooker, mix the rest into a thick paste and coat the chicken. Dump her all in together with a big stir and leave it. That's it. It will look dry, but when it’s cooking it will cook in its own juices. In the morning, pull it all (should fall apart) and leave on low or what evs to keep the pulled breast sucking up some of the juices
The disconnect from living in the UK is unreal. Your PM is so sensible... here we have 30K cases a day, 200 deaths, and the government doesn't care at all. No restrictions in place!

Here in Scotland (not the UK) we have had 6836 cases today, 928 people are in hospital, over 90 in intensive care, and 12 deaths. Lock downs are hard, but this is the alternative. We are in lockdown no 6 in Melbourne and it was a snap for seven days and we are upto seven weeks. we go for walks in our 1 hour window but that makes us look good when looking at what Dane's exercises are for his back - too hard

So bizarre that Y'all have such different covid protocols. I so apprecoate it. In the US, it's just never going to end. I teach and the policy is that if a kid has covid only the kids that sit within 3 feet of them in their main seat are quarantined briefly. Nobody else they may have been in contact with, and because most teachers are vaccinated they generally don't quarantine unless symptomatic. Just in my county there are hundreds of cases daily. It's so frustrating. Also, I've never seen this trigger point ball... so thanks for that! I got one and it's literally the first time in months I'm not struggling to sleep because of lower back pain!!

The number of people who have been fully or at least partially vaccinated against Covid-19 seems to be rapidly rising in NZ now - hopefully this will eventually prevent further lockdowns! Keeping my fingers crossed for you - here in Germany case numbers are much higher, but so far no new lockdown.

We've vaccinated 89percent of the adult population but still have up to 40k cases daily but we've barely got any restrictions now. Huge difference in approach. Take care and keep up the good work.

We just got though our 14 days of home quarantine due to close contact. It was hard not being able to go out side for walks and we almost ran out of food. Stacey you should try the haircut again.

I put that sugar free maple syrup on my protein oats i didnt think of putting it in my coffee! Yus im gonna try that. Hope your lockdown goes well guys. Take one day at a time and its okay to have those down days. :)

...and a sprinkle of paprika, 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric, and marjoram or thyme on the chicken first. Then add the veg and finally if you want to really level up cut 2 inch pieces of bacon and just throw them in to the mix too. You won't need any salt if you do the bacon and those spices are really good for you. Hang in there. Thanks for sharing!

Our lockdown is ridiculous, no haircuts, pubs and clubs are closed, restaurants only open for takeaway. 5km radius, we just got out of 9pm curfew last night. We can still buy coffee at servos, Macca's, uber etc. I think our government thinks we are back in 1788.
Hopefully we can start travelling soon. Stay positive and stay safe

Almost a month down,so this time wasn't so bad,because of our previous practice runs...but the absolute worst thing is no gym,so the body's been falling apart after several weeks of couch potato activities,like eating junk food (a must),drinking alcohol (a must),and watching travel vlogs (Peter and Yen are a must ! Gotcha ! But seriously,those 2 are good). Biggest decision this week is buying a home gym,so that's gonna be a squat rack,Smith machine,bench,and weights - any change from 3 grand will go on Waikato Draught,haha. You 2 training has made my decision to buy weights etc,a must. Also,I'm thinking of installing a camera where the coffee cups are as well,hehe. Maybe next upload,you 2 could do a cooking vlog ?

Are you bracing for the worst? This whole situation is terrible, but the fact you have such low vaccination compared to most other places in the globe is very worrying with just how fast and easy the delta variant spreads. I got a job in NZ, but I am doubtful that it will be possible for anyone to immigrate for a very longtime. We had lock down in Denmark for over a year.
They are vaccinating large groups now. Difficult to believe the World's big pharma can't provide more vaccines throughout the world more quickly for those that want them.
This in itself I find a bit suspicious.
As an asthmatic and carer I was vaccinated almost 3 mths ago in a very rural part of NZ, so booster shots will be an issue in a few mths. The cohort that got them early are the oldest and most vulnerable & their carers. So when they open the borders, the inevitably lower AntiBody response may again endanger the most vulnerable. When I got the vaccine, I thought I was home and hosed, but that was before many people had heard of Delta.
While at least important as a delaying factor, vaccines may not be everything as the virus mutates.
Vit D is also an important likely protector and at least NZ has pretty much the highest UV levels in the world over summer (as an insurance most of us light to medium brown shade skinned folks at least can assimilate that Vit more easily thru sunlight).
NZ is vulnerable because we have had very low health expenditure on things like ICU wards and training in the past with both major sets of Government political groupings.
The ' She'll be right ' attitude that many overseas people find appealing about Kiwis, may bite us in the bum.
Anyway, thanks for the extra vaccines Spain! If you drill a hole thru the Earth in Auckland's suburb of Manurewa, you'll end up in the south of Spain, exactly in Seville! This shows how global this wretched virus is.
As Rick said below, lots of changes in the past few weeks during the lockdowns. They've massively increased the vax push and we should be close to 80% soon thankfully!

Hey Dane - love the channel. Have been following you guys for a while. Super random question, but what is your tomato chicken crockpot recipe??
No worries mate. I'm pasting this from a message I sent to a friend so it's easier, but it's long:
I make 5-7 servings for a week of lunch, so it's 1.5kg or so. Cooking is either 4 hours on high (cut breast into thirds) or overnight on slow (whole breasts).
- Half a jar of curry paste
- whole jar of salsa
- 2 carrots (shaved is yum)
- 2 onions
- 3 capsicums
- some curry powder or any other herbs spices you feel like
- teaspoon of ginger (jar stuff)
- teaspoon of crushed garlic (jar stuff)
Veges directly into the slow cooker, mix the rest into a thick paste and coat the chicken. Dump her all in together with a big stir and leave it. That's it.
It will look dry, but when it’s cooking it will cook in its own juices. In the morning, pull it all (should fall apart) and leave on low or what evs to keep the pulled breast sucking up some of the juices
In UK we have double jabbed 80% so no lock down at moment, the country needs to move forward! I hope n.z government can realise the same 🤞
