King of Limbs chronologically. Not their best sounding album at first listening or even 2nd or 3rd time....but it WILL grow on you after a while. Its relys heavily on rhythmic beats and quiet moments. Compared to other albums, its a more "flat" sounding album. Try to concentrate on the ryhtm ( i think they're addictive once you get used to it 😂 ) and you're gonna feel like moving around. For a more organic and fuller sound, listen to the King of Limbs Basement session. Its much better than the album version imo. Much love. Looking forward to the In Rainbows premiere ✌️
King of Limbs, underrated content but for me just two tracks short of greatness. With only 8 tracks it feels lacking a little substance in comparison with other albums. The Daily Mail & Staircase would have fitted well and fleshed it out. Highly recommend the In Rainbows & King Of Limbs from the Basemet sessions, especially KOL, better live.
Weird fishes was my wifes favourite song. She passed away unexpected last year and we played it at her funeral. I hope there is an afterlife so that I will see her again. I miss her so much. Thanks for the great video.
Some trivia: - According to Thom Yorke, the lyrics were based on "that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking, 'I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something else' ... It's similar to OK Computer in a way. It's much more terrifying." - Unlike Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows is not an angry or political album. It's about mortality and the fact any of us can die at any given moment. - My theory for 15 Step is that the title is a reference to the plant Antiaris toxicaria, the poison of which is so deadly a victim can only take seven steps uphill and eight downhill before dying. What's 7+8? 15 Steps. - The band recorded the cheers of music school students for 15 Step. They wanted the kids to clap but the unconventional 5/4 time signature was too hard for the students to follow. - Bodysnatchers utilizes a technique known as "modal mixture", where notes and chords from different modes (sets of notes) that share the same root are used. The verses are in D Mixolydian (the Major scale with a flattened seventh), while the bridge is in D minor. - Nude was worked on for around a decade, starting during the OK Computer sessions. It was originally called "Big Ideas" by fans, as it was unnamed for many years. The final version was built atop the bassline written by Colin Greenwood. The intro is the outro reversed. - Weird Fishes / Arpeggi was originally just called "Arpeggi" due to the arpeggiated guitar line that can be heard through the song (clever bastards). - On All I Need, the chaotic noise wall, imitating the white noise created by a band playing loudly in a room (which would be impossible in a studio), was achieved by having a string section play every note in the scale, blanketing the frequencies. - In Reckoner, background vocals can be heard at 2:49 singing "In Rainbows", which happens to be 61.8% of the runtime; the golden ratio. The line "because we separate like ripples on a blank shore" is the center of the album; everything leads up to and away from it, much as waves on a beach do. - On House of Cards, Jonny used a coin as a guitar pick to imitate the sound of a string instrument. - Jigsaw Falling Into Place was inspired by the chaos inspired Thom saw when he used to go out on the weekend in Oxford. - Videotape is tricking you; the true downbeat is syncopated. The piano is playing half a beat before the downbeat. Listen to the 2006 live performance where this trick is much more pronounced.

Perfect album. I recall walking into a record store the day this came out and hearing Weird Fishes for the first time blaring out of their speakers. Magical moment.
Radiohead going through the gears on Bodysnatchers and Thom ramping up his vocal on Jigsaw Falling (“the beat goes round and round”) are two of my favourite moments in music
I'm 59 and have been a fan of Radiohead for about 30 years. And now I've just become a fan of you guys. At first I thought this would be a sort of Beavis & Butthead type of thing, but you're intelligent and funny and had honest and affecting reactions to this wonderful album (perhaps my favourite by Radiohead) So thank you - this was just what I needed on this sunday evening here in Norway, before the horrors of a new working week.
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this album all the way through. I love it now even more than I did when I first heard it and was moved by it as much as you guys are. You're in for a long journey.
In Rainbows is my favorite Radiohead album..........maybe the only album I could listen to every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it 🤣🤣🤣 My favorites are Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, and Nude!
Very nice seeing your guys’ progression on UA-cam, and now getting to watch y’all listen and react to not only one of my favorite Radiohead albums, but one of my favorite albums of all time. Glad y’all enjoyed
the hype was worth it this reaction is so accurate to how i reacted when i listened for the first time but even more with the background in the forest, perfect vibe
the transition of you guys listening to this, starting in daylight and ending in twilight is pretty profound on its own. What a great reaction to an album, especially this one. Videotape will always be special to me, and maybe my favorite Radiohead song.
Bro, I've been waiting so long for this video!, and it's finally here, Your reaction was incredible and captivating, I got goosebumps with every song on this album, I knew you guys would love every song on this album, I really liked your reaction to weird fishes, which is my favorite song. In rainbows is definitely 10 out of 10, S TIER FOR SURE!
When in rainbows came out i paid 1 cent for it. I listened to it and then bought it again adn paid 50 usd. I know a lot of people that did the same.. its perfection. At the time i didn’t think anything could rival KID A
Wow, loved this. This is one of my favourite albums ever and this is exactly how I felt listening to it the first time! also your setting was amazing, the woodland and the sunshine slowly setting is just perfect vibes for this! Has made want to go out into nature and listen to this album specifically
Bruh I wanna be these dudes friend so bad lmao. The array of different emotions that they went through was what i went through😭 this is my favorite album of all time n I loved this video n I love you guys man fr! God bless n keep it up!
I can tell you both really understand music! You perfectly described why in rainbows is my favourite album ever. I’m interested to see what you think of their next album in the discog- the king of limbs is very different and not everyone loves it. I can’t get enough of it but it would be a great video if you shared your thoughts! Thank you for making this video, it reminded me of how much I love Radiohead. ❤️
appreciate the Phillip Selway (drummer) appreciation, he's so perfect on every song. Reminds me of Ringo in that he plays perfectly for every song and never overdoes it
The reaction lived up to the hype. Can't wait for you to do the next 2 albums! Btw. If you're done with Radiohead, do "The Smile" next. It's another project from Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood. It's very worth checking out the 2 albums they've put out. Promise, Its GOOD. ✌️
I don't normally comment on UA-cam videos, but I stumbled across this reaction and the vibe you guys had on this is just perfect. A cool spring evening with the album playing as the sun goes down behind you perfectly frames the tone of the record. In Rainbows was a self released free download when it dropped in 2007 and it was kind of a revolutionary idea at the time after the age of Napster ended and made way to iTunes and $9.99 albums. I remember clear as day when it came out. It was released at 8 am in Atlantic Canada on a week day. I had to work and thought maybe I'd listen to a couple songs and then leave. But as the headphones went on I was immersed and couldn't leave. I just flat out missed the first hour of work without a care in the world.
I absolutely love watching the next generation discover Radiohead. The first time I heard this album was the summer of 2008-I was 19 years old and was having my first lsd experience…just as it was taking affect my boyfriend at the time put “15 Step” on and we listened all the way to the end of the album. It literally changed my life. This album means so much to me and almost 20 years later I still listen to it all the time.
I think when I first heard those backing vocals come in on Weird Fishes all those years ago (17 years ago wtf), I hadn't heard any other music that was so beautiful. And tbh, I still haven't to this day
This album was the soundtrack to my last semester of college and the best period of my first relationship. I’d kinda written Radiohead off until I heard it, but I listened to it 4 times in a row nonstop after hearing it for the first time. Weird Fishes is my favorite song of all time, and though I struggle to name a true favorite album I think if I could only bring one to a desert island it would be In Rainbows. It’s the perfect reminder of how beautiful life is in both dark and light times. Really enjoyed seeing it resonate with you guys it brought me back to that time.
I have an infinite number of memories with this album... I know it's not what you guys normally do, but I highly recommend checking out the "From the Basement" version of this. It has songs from albums you have already done as well, and it is a whole new vibe to see them in a live yet intimate setting. Especially that drumming because he doesn't miss a beat. For views AND experience I would recommend the order of " In Rainbows: From the Basement", The King of Limbs, "The King of Limbs: From the Basement", then end the Radiohead Journey with A Moon Shaped Pool. Loved the reaction and wish you all the best!
Awesome, you both got to experience this together in a beautiful setting, enjoying it and getting lost. Made me smile, you're both living life right, you only get so many like this in life. Cherish these moments and keep it going!
I'm from England and have been a Radiohead fan since the early 90's and it's great when I see a rection to my favourite band like both of your reactions. Respect to you both.
Yeees! I loved your reaction to OK Computer. Wouldn't trust many people to react to In rainbows cause that's my little baby man, but y'all kill it. Much love
My favorite Radiohead album, amazing reaction. OK Computer and Kid A are masterpieces but this is their best album for me, everything is so clean and polished. And also, you guys should react to all five Vampire Weekend records, I think will blow your minds too!
Loving your Radiohead reactions. My favourite band. ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ definitely should be done. I was also thinking you guys should do ‘Siamese Dream’ by The Smashing Pumpkins - it’s a brilliant, consistent and classic album. It’s musically distinctive, it rocks hard in parts, it’s also beautiful, very deep and emotional.
I am loving your channel, exploring some of the all time greats. I guess I should suggest some reactions. One for the channel to keep the 90s run going, a 00s album that deserves an album reaction: Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf. I think the next one you should do. Myself I am a prog-metal nerd, and my favorite album of all time has to be Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime. Can’t wait for more reactions, cheers.
Reckoner is my favorite song ever. The singer, Thom York, and one of the guitarists, Jonny Greenwood have a band together with another guy, the bad is called The Smile. They are touring their new album Wall Of Eyes atm and I think you would really enjoy the reckord!
20:04 Yes Sir, I totally agree. That's my favorite song by my favorite band so it could be my favorite song of all time. Amazing reaction guys, thanks! 👍🏼
i listened to this album for the first time ever going to sleep and i woke up at around 5am with light glittering through the curtains and videotape playing in my ears. i was only awake for about a minute but it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life
Great reaction, made my day. Next radiohead is a weird one but ya gotta do it. Also a request to get through the "Queens of the stone age" albums PLEASE.
I'm very late to this party, but I truly don't think I've ever found a better 3 song run on ANY album than Nude/Weird Fishes/All I Need. That's 12-13 minutes of absolute transcendent perfection.
weird fishes is my favorite song of all time. I have cried to it, i have smiled to it, i have listened to it in my best moments, i have listened to it in my worst moments. It's perfect and it will always be
there's something quite enjoyable about seeing young folks really listen and really enjoy music you love for the first time. I'm envious of these two, and I think they have amazing taste in music. keep exploring fellas if you see this. and if you want recs from a rando millenial just lemme know
Nude is a song they’ve been playing live since the OK Computer tour. Used to be called Big Ideas. I always found that so interesting that it took 10 years for them to feel like it was album-ready.
I saw Radiohead back in 2008 on the In Rainbows tour in London. They were simply incredible. This album is arguably their best, and it’s one that will stay with me until the day I die.
Many many fond memories of this album: Putting Reckoner on repeat and rewinding the heavenly a capella part when people were talking or it didn't hit hard enough 😂. Also driving through curvy roads in the dense foresty hills of Tennessee vibing to Weird Fishes (still my favorite song to this day) and feeling like I was cruisin' in a spaceship. Pulling out my choir kid chops and harmonizing to the ethereal ending of Nude. I'm so glad to see someone else appreciate this album as much as I do, truly had a great time vibin' through digital space with ya ☺
My in rainbows memory is going on a retreat with my best friend, he had just learned jigsaw falling into place the entire way through on acoustic guitar and he would not shut up playing it. I think I heard that song more in three days than the rest of my life, and it remains one of my favourite songs ever for it
I was in college when this album was released. Soon after release date, my long distance boyfriend (now husband) came to visit me, talking all about this album. The whole piracy thing was a hot button issue, so Radiohead's releasing this as a pay-what-you-want was so revolutionary. Well, I could have gotten this album for free, but as a long-time Radiohead fan, I wanted to at least contribute something, so I opted to pay $5. I think I remember reading something much later that despite the business model, Radiohead did in fact make money despite giving the album away for basically for free. Another thing to mention is this was a fantastic album, & as a huge Radiohead fan, but these aren't exactly the same, some other albums I was listening to around the same time that I can highly recommend are "Friend & Foe" by Menomena and also "Silent Alarm" by Bloc Party.
I was in college too 😊 My husband and I absolutely loved this album. I paid for it too. It was actually the first album by them that forced me to see and acknowledge their greatness. Great suggestions!
Great video/reaction. One of my favorite albums ever, and my favorite of theirs. Would love to see you guys react to Fleet Foxes!! Think they’d be right up your alley 😁
i had just graduated from college and moved from colorado to new york. i was working at my entry level analyst job when the album dropped. took the train back up to my shitty apartment in the heights, rolled a huge one, and listened to this album for the first time. whenever i hear it, I'm 26. the best radiohead album of all time.
Thanks for a great reaction. On further listens I think you'll really get even more into Jonny's string arrangements. He really came into his on as a composer around this time. It's amazing how he wrote one of the best scores of all time for "There Will Be Blood" in the same year as this album.
I love this album its my favorite from Radiohead! and Reckoner is by far my favorite song even though I love all their music , that one just hits different ! subbed love your reactions

Radiohead going through the gears on Bodysnatchers and Thom ramping up his vocal on Jigsaw Falling (“the beat goes round and round”) are two of my favourite moments in music
Two of the best songs!
I love your vibe chaps, i could definitely hang with you ;) big radiohead fan too. This album is flawless 👌
You found the gold at the end of the rainbow.
Love that!

Great quote
I loved watching the sunset throughout the video. Really adds an atmosphere to an already beautiful atmospheric album.
This is one of my favourite albums of all time and it has only grown with every listen.
In Rainbows is my favorite Radiohead album..........maybe the only album I could listen to every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it 🤣🤣🤣
My favorites are Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, and Nude!
At the time i didn’t think anything could rival KID A
Literally waited for months for this !!!! Did not disappoint!!!!
God bless n keep it up!
a moon shaped pool reaction is going to be wild
I can tell you both really understand music! You perfectly described why in rainbows is my favourite album ever. I’m interested to see what you think of their next album in the discog- the king of limbs is very different and not everyone loves it. I can’t get enough of it but it would be a great video if you shared your thoughts! Thank you for making this video, it reminded me of how much I love Radiohead. ❤️
appreciate the Phillip Selway (drummer) appreciation, he's so perfect on every song. Reminds me of Ringo in that he plays perfectly for every song and never overdoes it
Great album.
In typical Radiohead fashion, bright music...dark lyrics. Perfect.
Them bot just uncontrollably dancing to Jigsaw Falling Into Place must be the most relatable thing ever
Love The Smile fr
@@coleharbak ikr!? The Smile is fuckin great!
I agree, the smile are so good.
do The Smile AND Atoms For Peace!!!
Love how you guys pick out key lyrics and instrumentals while appreciating the overall project's themes and impact, regardless of the artist.
Y’all killed this video. I love to see my generation finally enjoying Radiohead as much as I do
Great call on Weird fishes being their best song. I love that you guys instantly vibed with this album. Hands down their best, IMO.
36:52 - Jay had the 'what is this wizardry?' face. Trust me, Radiohead does that to just about everybody!
Glad y'all enjoyed it!
Cheers
I absolutely love watching the next generation discover Radiohead. The first time I heard this album was the summer of 2008-I was 19 years old and was having my first lsd experience…just as it was taking affect my boyfriend at the time put “15 Step” on and we listened all the way to the end of the album. It literally changed my life. This album means so much to me and almost 20 years later I still listen to it all the time.
I think when I first heard those backing vocals come in on Weird Fishes all those years ago (17 years ago wtf), I hadn't heard any other music that was so beautiful. And tbh, I still haven't to this day
Listened to weird fishes during my first acid trip and was never the same afterwards. Felt like I was at heaven's gates. Core memory, for sure.
Really enjoyed seeing it resonate with you guys it brought me back to that time.
from the basement live version is amazing
I have an infinite number of memories with this album... I know it's not what you guys normally do, but I highly recommend checking out the "From the Basement" version of this. It has songs from albums you have already done as well, and it is a whole new vibe to see them in a live yet intimate setting. Especially that drumming because he doesn't miss a beat. For views AND experience I would recommend the order of " In Rainbows: From the Basement", The King of Limbs, "The King of Limbs: From the Basement", then end the Radiohead Journey with A Moon Shaped Pool. Loved the reaction and wish you all the best!
Faust Arps strings and bow is extroninarily beautiful when you listen closely. Unreal music.
You guys offer some of the best Radiohead reactions imo ❤
Awesome, you both got to experience this together in a beautiful setting, enjoying it and getting lost. Made me smile, you're both living life right, you only get so many like this in life. Cherish these moments and keep it going!
I'm from England and have been a Radiohead fan since the early 90's and it's great when I see a rection to my favourite band like both of your reactions. Respect to you both.
I'm the oldest Millennial and this makes me feel old, nostalgic, and proud. The kids are alright.
Yeees! I loved your reaction to OK Computer. Wouldn't trust many people to react to In rainbows cause that's my little baby man, but y'all kill it. Much love
i had commented on one of the other radiohead videos not too long ago for this album. So seeing this so soon is amazing.
i love radiohead, I love this reaction, I love y'all, in rainbows is just,, pure, love, happiness, beauty, heaven..
It’s hard to choose between this and Ok Computer. It just depends on the mood but I come back to this one more often. Thanks guys!
I love this album so much. Happy to share it with you both. Great reaction
Faust Arp may be my favourite track on this god tier album because the strings are so damn good
Best Radiohead Album.
It's perfect and it will always be
Best Radiohead album hands down and probably my favourite album of all time 💖
there's something quite enjoyable about seeing young folks really listen and really enjoy music you love for the first time.
I'm envious of these two, and I think they have amazing taste in music. keep exploring fellas if you see this. and if you want recs from a rando millenial just lemme know
You two taking it all in, reacting and bobbing your heads made me so happy 😊 welcome to Radiohead!😊
Nude is a song they’ve been playing live since the OK Computer tour. Used to be called Big Ideas. I always found that so interesting that it took 10 years for them to feel like it was album-ready.
Great channel guys. I love seeing others experience classics from some of my favorite bands.
Now watch live from the basement for your own good
That sounded like a threat 😂
My in rainbows memory is going on a retreat with my best friend, he had just learned jigsaw falling into place the entire way through on acoustic guitar and he would not shut up playing it. I think I heard that song more in three days than the rest of my life, and it remains one of my favourite songs ever for it
One of my most recent memories with this album is when I first drove to Jigsaw Falling Into Place. It's the perfect song to drive to
I was in college when this album was released.
You've got to watch them play this album live from the basement. Absolutely insane.
My body is ready
can we appreciate the editing? the effort to keep the groove going... i see you
The first time I listened to In rainbows, I sat there, no other distractions, listened to the whole thing. Peak.
When I saw them live at bonnaroo 2012 Johnny the guitarist SLICED his hand open while shredding at the end of bodysnatchers. Passion
Thanks for a great reaction. On further listens I think you'll really get even more into Jonny's string arrangements. He really came into his on as a composer around this time. It's amazing how he wrote one of the best scores of all time for "There Will Be Blood" in the same year as this album.
1: I love how youre doing this outside. It’s really cool. really, really, cool. Ill subscribe! My first impressions are very strong.
Upon first listen, "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" was my favorite
I love this album its my favorite from Radiohead! and Reckoner is by far my favorite song even though I love all their music , that one just hits different ! subbed love your reactions
I really recommend an album called Hawaii: Part II by Miracle Musical. I think you will really enjoy it, it has various genres in it.
If you ever get the chance to see Radiohead live DO IT. I've seen them twice live & both concerts were absolutely amazing. Thanks for the vids.
