Thank you very much for this video. I called Roadside Service and they did not know how to get key from fob. They tried to open door with inflatables but almost broke the window. I asked them to call their manager for advice refused. Said I had to get a locksmith. I got an Uber to go to nearest store to get a battery for fob ( even though it lit up I thought maybe too weak to start car. I returned to find no way to open car. I went inside to trusty UA-cam and found your video. I instantly opened top of fob and got key ( who knew? even dealer didn't show me this!) and I was able to open door and start car just like you showed me. So not only saved me money but, you saved my day!!! Bless you Miguel.

Thanks dude, I got mine open as easy as pie. You really hooked me up with the knowledge. Thank God I have a jumper box in my trunk. I've saved myself & many ppl with out cables with my jumper box. I got it at Walmart for $89.00 & its 1500 amperage not those weak one"s & I got my car going & thier cars started without having to call road side service.
thank you for the help!! I was stuck in the parking lot and referred back to the video. I was so surprised it worked that I yelled in excitment making the lady, who came out the car, scared.
Thank you, I was able start my car while "Key Not Detected" message was on. I was able to confirm 12 volts at the battery and FOB batteries are on the way.
Great information! It's really good to know that the FOB works even without a battery. Thank you! I believe most modern Lexus vehicles with smart keys now warn you when the battery is getting low.
Brilliant! Saw another video describing the same, using a low or dead fob. Getting into the car with the manual key is one thing. But actually starting it without a live fob is not explained…..until YOUR video. You’re actually using an additional sensor inside the fob to start it. So you literally yanked the fob’s battery making it dead as can be. But the additional sensor inside the fob has its own special was to start the car. The question I had is if my wife is out and has our only fob, is there a way to start the car w/o a fob? I’m assuming that the answer is “no”, and that the manual key can get you into the car but NOT actually start w/o even a dead fob. YA NEED A FOB!
Thanks a ton. It worked for ours. The irony being the battery for it died while attempting to start the car to get to a car appointment to get another fob made.
Wooooow THANK YOU SO MUCH.! IThought iwas so smart by pulling the lil manual key out of the electric fob and getting in my car forgetting YOU STILL CANT START THE CAR 🤣😫 so the fact you showed a way to start your car until (in my case) CHRISTMAS IS OVER (yea my key battery would die on Christmas Eve at 11:01pm HA.!) Anywho ha ican still go visit family and sticc to original plans.! Thank you again.!

How do I get the fob to work when I walk up to the driver door while the key is in my pocket mines just stopped working on the driverside front and back but works on the opposite side
Thank you for your video. If only I had known about your video it would have saved me a lot of stress. Why doesn’t the dealership go over this when you purchase your Lexus? The manual is not very helpful w/ this issue.
@@Miguelsgarage Next time I have my car serviced @ a Lexus dealership I will bring this issue up. Such a simple explanation can solve a owner frustration.
Thank you so much!! Times are tough right now just spent over 500 bucks on all new brakes and an oil change and thought I needed to purchase a whole new FOB, then realized it was just the battery and could still start my car!! Just curious do they take a special kind of battery? Or will a basic Duracell lithium coin battery work?
Glad I could help! Typically they use CR2032 batteries and you should be able to find them at your local pharmacy or hardware store. It’s always best to open up the remote and see the actual battery code though before purchasing to ensure you buy the right one.
My 2008 Lexus LS469 fob takes a DL1632 Duracell battery. Look at the battery before buying because they can be different based on the year make and model.
Thank you so much! I did not know my fob would work without the battery. Do you know how to get your Lexus to start when the immobilizer (anti-theft system) has been activated?
Thanks for sharing It's 8 o'clock p.m. and I'm outside trying to fox a flat AND get in my car because the battery has ran down, about to go back out and try this Thanks again for sharing
g naka glad it helped! Yes, I did the CF wrapping myself. I used 3m CF vinyl. It works great! As long as you clean the surface really well and take things apart enough to be able to access all corners, it should come out great and be easy to install.
Kyla Rhodes If your car batter dies as well, you can use the physical key to open the car, open the hood, and using either a booster battery pack or jumper cables jump the car to start it.
You can still use it as an excuse if you don't want to go in! :) but if you must, now you know how to do it! Thank you for your comment. Please like, share, and subscribe. I really appreciate it!!!
Thank you. But my Lexus ES350 does not have a key hole in the door handle like yours. You might want to add that instruction. Perfect instruction though. thank you so much. We ought to store a backup in the glove compartment.
Robin Lauber it does, but it has a cover on it. If you look at the same place I show you in my video, look underneath. There should be a little hole where you can put the key to pop the cover off. Once you have the cover off, you will see the lock cylinder where you would put your key in to open the door. Let me know if you see it!
