Watched this with my dad in his nursing home. He rejuvenated several years and we talked about it for weeks afterwards. It gave us both huge pleasure and I'll never forget that afternoon. I got my dad back, funny, passionate, lovely man. He loved sport, especially rugby. Wales lost but such entertainment! 🏴
Ce jour là, j'ai tellement poussé dans mon fauteuil devant la télé... que le lendemain j'étais plein de courbatures 🤕😂
J’ai eu peur je croyais que t’allais dire « j’ai tellement poussé que j’me suis chier dessus ».
❤❤❤
And look at France now...amazingly how quickly things can change for a national team really.
what do you mean, for bad or for worse?
@@ComboMuster they are the best team in the world right now
@@kodikasbeats9981 No they're not... they got their arses handed over to them by the Irish 😁😁😁
@@kodikasbeats9981 think ull find they arnt
@@tonymccartan6553 Ok m8, we understood what he meant, they are one of the best teams in the world. Is that better for you?
The fact that the match finished at 99:55 triggered me a lot
Same
Legend says the referees still debates the situation around beers in a pub
How long are the side with the strike allowed to keep the ball in the scrum?
It looks to me that France kept it in repeatedly until the scrum collapsed, and each time Wales was penalised because the referee had to assume that the defending side were the one who collapsed it. I assume that's in accordance with the rules? (It didn't feel particularly in the spirit of the game, but that's professionalism).
Back when France used to be "referee like a small team"
^ These are the words of Maestri (captain) right after this game, and it was indeed shamefull... Barnes didn't want to take responsability for the outcomes of his decision but at some point he had to.
Please expand, what do you mean exactly?
@@bawzzzz With the amount of penalties against Wales, in front of their line, the referee has to whistle a penalty try for France. This never happend because the referee didn't had the guts to end the match like this. Imagine now this would be Ireland - Wales in Dublin ? I guess you got it.
@@MrLeLapinbleu Makes sense, I was also wondering why no penalty try was awarded after so many won scrums.
@@bawzzzz At this point, I think everybody expected a penalty try. I agree the decision was not easy to call, but the last penalty is quite comic, watch the french reactions.
I mean the Uini Atonio sub out was also shady so its not only Barnes that was shameful. Im french btw.
Wow that was a crazy end…. Never give up until the final whistle goes👍 well done France
I remember it, the ending was unbelievable.
the longest match was the blues vs the bulls in south africa. the second half was over an hour long because the ref wouldnt stop the game until blues scored again to win the game.
Barnes, Owen and the whole crew of Anglo-Saxon referees who try to screw France at every game
Brian Moore's anti-French bias was always so obvious.
We were there
Left the stadium when 80 mins on the clock and got back to the HIDE OUT PUB IN GARE DU NORD BEFORE THE GAME FINISHED.
GOOD TRSINS INFRANCE
BRENIG😂
When will we get the full match of Wales v France 2017 on UA-cam? .
Barnes aura été une crevure du début à la fin, il y a longtemps qu'il aurait dû accorder un essai de pénalité. Une honte
Why do they have France 2023 on their kit?
France proposed itself as a host for the 2023 World Cup, so the national team used the jersey for advertisement.
Why it’s better to watch that kind of game? We don’t spend hours (like top14) to watch slow motions for try.
Crazy 😂
16:55 well executed spit, better than the average frogs😂
Just another reason among many as to why Rugby Union is dying on it's arse!
This is rugby. Hard but fair.
I feel sorry for the ref
Biting your dripping nails so close to live flesh can be harmful to your health.
worst referee ever seen this day...
The referee is wayne barnes one of the best refs ever to reff this game
@@jumartxixd9046 agree, always calm as a mantis!
@@jumartxixd9046 If I had a penny for everytime we got screwed

Scandalous ignoring clear evidence of a bite mark
Anyone who's getting into rugby should be made to watch this. Just so they know this is in the game's DNA. If you're still interested after this, welcome
I cannot make any head or tail of what you're saying 😁😁😁
Les Bleus 4 World Champions '23🐓
robbed by ref
Heavy blokes running into each other, Rugby is shite!
Wayne Barnes was France's MVP
The schoolyard commentary stands out. If you don’t know the laws, or don’t like them, just shut up. Both teams were guilty of screwing around. Everybody but the commentators could see that. It’s easy to bitch about the ref, but he’s just doing his job. You can’t have a rugby match without him, and anybody who thinks he could do better should try it. But no, they couldn’t referee an under 5 match yet still voice an opinion. Like sphincters, everybody has one.
It would be the opposite that the penalty try would have given after the first or the second scrum and you know it perfectly. So, please shut up, you !
My husband stopped watching after this game. They stopped the clock for a while, and it was still 22 minutes over. They won on the last play. Biting. Unnecessary stoppages. Just outright cheating. And they wonder why rugby has lost its audience.
you deserve a better husband Davina :)
Losing one husband doesn't constitute "an audience"!
I remember watching this and hoping the clock would reset at 99.59

Six years ago ???!!!??
God how time flies 😮
Can't quite decide whether Wales is more cynical (collapsing the scrum, delaying the game) or the referee is uncapable of controlling the game. Does he really have to have to play the telephone game for 4 minutes while Frace is supposed to be in power play?
The French were popping up and being cynical collapsing the scrum , and the gamesmanship with sudden HIA , also the dirty biting , Barns help the French win that game .
@@patbassman8251 lol
@@patbassman8251 Mdrrrrrrrrr y'avait 10000 fois essai de pénalité + plusieurs cartons jaunes
@patbassman8251 you mean the reason the French were popping up was cos wales were constantly deliberately boring the scrum inwards. Two cases for a penalty try for France, not to mention Rhys Webb and blue scrum cap should have been binned for not being 10 when Barnes set an advantage for not being 10.
surely at the point of awarding France so many penalties that they should have just received a penalty try.
Was only long because Mr Barnes for some reason didn’t award a penalty try!
None of the French scrums were pushing towards the line, can't give a penalty try 5m out
19:28
@@scottevans5689 yes you can. This is the law: "A penalty try is awarded between the goal posts if foul play by the opposing team prevents a probable try from being scored, ". No mention of "5 m" or anything. It's entirely up to the appreciation of the ref. And usually after a few successive fouls, a penalty try is given.
@@croulantroulant3082 To be fair it's hard to say that any of these french atempts were definitly going to be a try, it's kind of a matter of "Is the next one penalty try?"
If you give it too early you can be sure that an entire country will be mad at you, if you don't the other country will be.
I know for sure I wouldn't want to be the ref in this situation.
yes, a penalty try should have been awarded when the welsh players were not back 10 off the tap, the 2 on the left were both offside meaning if they were not there a try would have been scored.
when Samson Lee got yellow carded, I told the guys next to me in the club, I bet you he'll come back on, we ended up laughing
That is the match that made DUPONT identified as a potential player by the french rugby coach staff (he nearly could score)
He had begun making a name for himself, in the All Blacks tour a year or so earlier. (Maybe it was 2 years?)
@Mathieu Guillet That was also in 2017 but in November
@@lepetitchelem I had thought that was earlier. Thank you for the correction.
the longest "10 seconds left" of all time.
And this my friends, is the day we started hating mister Barnes.
The second commentator is so obnoxious my god
brian Moore. quite possibly the worst and the most anti French commentator
J'y étais putain, j'avais 11 ans, on était montés à Paris avec mon club de rugby, je crois que c'était l'une de mes meilleures journées (par contre l'arbitrage anti-français on se souvient toujours)
Most boring thing I’ve watched in my life.
Back when Wales could match France.. Sparring partners at best now. Shame there’s no relegation system in the 6N
Dan Biggar was disappointed he wasn't binned that day😂
Nice to see that my memory was correct, nearly 4 minutes of that first yellow card was wasted because Barnes didn't stop the clock. I was glad France won at the time and I'm still glad now.
you dont stop the clock once its in the red, for anything
@@nathan._.hso the clock didn't actually stop for 1 minute and 40 seconds at 80:03?
What really happened then? Time stopped across the entire universe?
Fun fact. Wales have not received a red card during the ENTIRE history of the 6 nations. 23 years!
8:55 wait I'm confused. What is his contention about modern day scrums exactly?
Does he not want the referee to follow the rulebook on safety and fairness? 🤔
Or dear I say it's just the usual anti French bias coming through...
yeah some absolutely disgraceful commentary, dude just sounded bitter, biased and bored
Against italy it will be penalty try after one minute
I recall this. Never have I seen so many penalties committed inside the defensive 22 not rewarded with a penalty try.
It was disgraceful.
Omg i remember this
Was only this long because they didnt stop the clock 😂
Remember this well. Barnes was going to keep resetting that scrum until France scored.
You meant : wasn't going to award that obvious penalty try after like 10 penalties against Welsh.
@@torwald5877 Being pushed back isn't a penalty offence. The French front row were consistently the first to pop up, as was picked up by the match commentary at the time. There was a reason the French had to feign an injury to their prop in order to get an already substituted player back onto the pitch to shore up their scrum.
@@mephistoXFC459Vah give it a rest. You lost
@@klaykutsmaster And you won with help from the ref
This is another reason why Barnes is overrated as a referee. He lost control. Absolutely shocking performance
ah yes the Siege of Paris 18th March 2017 after 20 minutes in the Red France finally ended the Siege with a Victory
EPIC GAME ! I remember this day, 6 years ago !!!
should have been a penalty try for repetitive fouls, long before minute 90
1995 World Cup final ..
That was a Clermont game !!!
This is Rugby 🏉💪
Probably the longest that Wayne Barnes has ever spoken for, he didn't shut up the whole time during that TMO check
If wales was a Pacific island team it would have had a penalty try against it yesterday.. that try in the end was dubious too and no grounding been seen 😂😂😂
what a drama
Northern hemisphere refs love the sound of their voice too much
I enjoyed this very much! outstanding refereeing the ref did not loose his head for 1 sec, everything we expected from him.
When you see all the jammy welsh wins this was beautifully
No Music in the background for a change😀
Barnes really wanted France to win
Wales losing it at the death. AGAIN.
Camille Chat, the neck man.
Not Wayne again
france 2023
❤
E chi se lo scorda ci ho perso una bolletta straordinaria con sta partita di merda
So did i, i remember going home thinking this will never leave my mind.. but it was all worth it drama-wise!
Barns hates Wales its not the first time he's done that he kept the play there until France scored regardless of the French gamesmanship , he did the exact thing when Wales played Australia .
I remember it. Two teams who were prepared to do anything to cheat their way to victory, and Wayne Barnes keeping completely calm in the middle of it. Both teams should have been ashamed of themselves
😂
Madness pure madness........ bribery
What do you mean?
100 minutes has any rugby match exceeded 90minutes
