I know ref bashing should stop but here I saw some questionable calls even if I am french. last try was beautiful but forward pass all days. Have a look on the line ! Also should have been a TMO check on Penaud run on Fickou kick to make sure he is behing Fickou etc etc... I am angry enough against frequent wrong calls against us not to acknowledge there were some questionable decisions against England here ;)
This is why I love this sport! I am French and to see the comments of our English and English-speaking friends on this Match is quite simply Magic no matter what the adversity ! The beautiful game is king ! God save the KING!
I read the amount of applause by the English commentators herewith and the French warm encouragement for a quick recovery of their opponent are why I am a rugby fan. This is a gentlemen sport and a game and it MUST remain so.
I'm still astonished by this result. France made this English squad look like a tier 2 nation, I knew the French could win but I never expected a 53-10 against England. PS : you forgot Flament's second try.

I remember seeing a prediction of France by 4 points and I thought that was realistic since the match was at Twickenham and the way France have played against Italy and Scotland. The fact that it was by nearly 44 points just shows how much I failed to appreciate the distance England still need to cover.
One of the most beautiful match illustrating the French Flair ! As a French man, I'm so proud of this exceptional team and their staff headed by Fabien Galthié!

As a New Zealand supporter, the speed, mobility and skill of the French pack is both awe inspiring and frightening. And I can't offer any more plaudits for the french halfback that he hasnt already received. Masterful. Englands opening kick off was actually illegal....and that was the last thing they got away with for 80 minutes.
as a French supporter I say that this victory is beautiful but it is misleading, the French systematically return the ball to the opposing camp, with southern nations it will be ammunition, they will keep the ball and attack by hand. so i say that this world cup will be as usual, france in the final or semi-final and defeat against a southern nation, with also the help of the referee... as usual...

I am French. I know we should stop ref shaming but some wrong calls on this match sincerly. Last try is beautiful but clearly forward if you look the line where the ball leaves ahnds and where ball is caught... (I know what people would say inertia, hands move blabla etc.. BS all days) Also Penaud run was close to be offside on Fikou kick and this should have been monitored by TMO at least ... Once it was in our favor after many unfair calls former past years so fair enough but should be noticed. I noticed that ref often are less strict toward a team playing a fast and enthousiatic rugby as they did with ABs for years earlier... More and more it seems ref a quite focused on securing the "show" more than applying laws strictly
The most surprising in this game is that it seems France never wanted to stop to put England to the sword. Until the last second it seems they wanted to destroy England
Every player need to play their best rugby till the end no matter the score, regardless whether you loosing or winning. Because it's important to respect the opponent, and it is important to respect the spectators who paid for this. This is Rugby's values. Brutality, Strength, but fair play, respect and honour.
Alldritt was outstanding today. What a player!! His 1st half was superb. For me, Man of the Match. But all French team did really well. Dupont has no flaws. England needs to bounce back asap but I'm afraid they'll need some years to develop new players...
I am a Frenchman. yes it is beautiful but forward pass all days. The pass start right on the line and Peanaud receive it 1 meter after the line... I know that there is a new rule , inertie of ball due to run, hands move etc etc.. but according to me all of this is pure BS. Point A on the picth where the ball leave hands to point B on the pitch where ball is caught , B not behind A : forward pass

French supporter here. At some point in my life, living abroad, I had to watch rugby on the BBC (and certainly did not regret it, loved it actually). I shall ever remember the great Jeremy Guscott, sitting as a commentator at the time, as brilliant an analyst as he had been with ball in hands. Once he recalled one of his coaches from his junior years who had a postulate for the game never to be forgotten. ‘In rugby’ he said’ there is no substitute for pace’. I think the French today have given a little demonstration of the truth in that. This being said, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that England will recover soon, even for the World Cup. They always do.
France were stunning , the way they put england to the sword in their backyard was a thing of beauty. a day to be long remembered, dont worry england youve got ireland in dublin next lol
Brutal showing from France. Wow. They are looking like serious World Cup contenders along with Ireland. Really amazing class from a side brimming with talent. The biggest deal though is their mindset, the old mental fragility of days gone by seems to have been well and truly buried. If the Boks don't win the next World Cup this is the side I would most like to see win it with Ireland a close second.
The beautiful game of rugby played as it should be.Speed ball handling and great team spirit. Wonderful to watch. I am a new zealand Maori and have great hopes for France in the world cup if they continue on like this. Maybe their 1st World Cup. Best of luck as we kiwis don't really have faith in our coach
Let us French not have short memories before we excessively blame our greatest enemies, the English. We have just emerged from a ten-year rugby slump. We got out of the hole because the FFR started a revolution in the management of the French national rugby team. A coach free to manage and recruit his staff. Thanks again to Fabien Galthié for having the absolutely brilliant idea of seeking out Shaun Edwards. What a difference since Shaun took charge. But also, thanks to good understanding between the FFR and the LNR (the governing body of the PRO league) on the selection and availability of players for the national team. The coach has a base pool of 42 players to train and set up opposition games with, before making his selection and releasing non-chosen players to return to their clubs. Even the national team staff will discuss with each club's staff about the strengths and weaknesses of each player. Ronan O'Gara at La Rochelle was blown away by the intelligence of this good relationship. Please, English friends, do not lose hope. With good work at the helm of the RFU, we can hope to see you quickly return to your best level. Not that beating you so badly and humiliating you on your own turf, so arrogant, is not so enjoyable for us French. But the French national rugby team will be so good that if the English national team is good, it will be even more enjoyable. Nonetheless, it's still enjoyable to beat you with a 40-point difference. So come back quickly, but not too quickly, so we can savor it for a few tournaments 😂
it's fascinating to see how much the English and the French respect each other in rugby unlike football, still a lot of effort to be made on this side…
Glad the Twickenham faithful managed to get a "Swing low" in during the first couple of minutes. They didn't have much to sing about for the final 78 minutes.

Mate I'm not even mad, France are just pure class. Want them to lift the cup
Thanks dude. Gameplay with flair is always nice to be watched but laws are laws. Honestly even if show was nice there were some wrong calls from ref.

Who? They couldn't even beat England last November.
France and Ireland will hammer them.

that's easy for you to say.

Beyond the result, I really admire the sportsmanship between the 2 teams at the end.
I'm still astonished by this result. France made this English squad look like a tier 2 nation, I knew the French could win but I never expected a 53-10 against England.
PS : you forgot Flament's second try.

As a New Zealand supporter, the speed, mobility and skill of the French pack is both awe inspiring and frightening. And I can't offer any more plaudits for the french halfback that he hasnt already received. Masterful.
Englands opening kick off was actually illegal....and that was the last thing they got away with for 80 minutes.
as a French supporter I say that this victory is beautiful but it is misleading, the French systematically return the ball to the opposing camp, with southern nations it will be ammunition, they will keep the ball and attack by hand. so i say that this world cup will be as usual, france in the final or semi-final and defeat against a southern nation, with also the help of the referee... as usual...

At last, Twickenham is no longer a doom temple for us.
France were on fire, they changed their coaching team, picked lots of young players and we have become a very efficient team.
Sad to see fans leaving earlier…regardless of the score.

@chrisbruhaux-deketer1339, they are so arrogant that they not accept defeat. Even more when France is the winner.

Not really. England never showed up to that game.
Playing to the end is respecting your opponent.
it's called respect. Best way to sepect your opponent is by giving 100%
Every player need to play their best rugby till the end no matter the score, regardless whether you loosing or winning.
@@thierrym8875

Jeez, what a game?! Absolute destruction!
Congratulations, France! A well deserved win.

Good. What a thrashing! Magnifique Francais!
