@@calvluc8316 DC was phenomenal but only as a 10 but wasn't as complete as Dupont who also defends like a backrower, finished 2 in number of contests in this year's champions cup, was electric in his 2 first tournaments in 7... And Dupont doesn't play in the best test rugby team the worl has ever seen (the 2009-2015 AB were something else and won the 2011 WC without Carter in the knockouts). DC is the best Fly Half ever, Dupont the best player we have ever seen in the professional era. He feels like Lionel Messi tbh

What are the rules around the extra time up there as a super rugby pacific supporter i didnt understand the extra time thing you had here? I think we play extra time if its drawn game but this wasnt drawn after 80mins was it??
@@austingtiryes, drawn after 80 minutes, so there were two half-times of 10 minutes each. And during the first one they played almost 20 minutes because Leinster wanted to score points quickly.

And then when Toulouse finally get their try (in the 83rd minute!) who is the first person there to congratulate him!?

Ref was very quick to give that. It took him about 10 mins to give sheehan a turnover in the middle of the pitch.

Defensively it was probably his most impressive match, offensivly deffenitely not (but as you said opposite defense was hella strong).

Every play both those teams was running was designed to milk a penalty. Thats why super rugby is better teams are not playing to that mindset to just milk penalties all game.

Willis has never been so good since he plays in Toulouse , just as if he gets out the Toulouse rugby school : off-load, defensive, offfensive in the center (not really in this game) ... an english underestimated player, like Kingshorn , as a scottish player . You can thank the manager Hugo mola, whose method reveal Talented players : Willis, Kingshorn, Chocobares, Castro ferrera, cruiz maria ....and so on

Dupont is my favourite player by a mile but I don’t think he would’ve been happy with his game today. Lots of errors in the first half especially passing from the ruck. Had enough good involvements like that insane 50-22 to make up for it though.

It does seem that the Leinster players tapped his hands as he was passing the ball at the back of the rucks, which is not allowed by the rules. Dupont even complained about this to the ref.

9 minutes of Dupont highlights is a lot considering the average time the ball is in play is 34-38 minutes. Add extra time and divide by half and it is a considerable amount even for a scrum half

I think he was a bit unfit in the quarter finals against the Boks in the WC. As a South African I'm not complaining. I think Antoine is the best ever to play the game.
Ntamack and Dupont missing / not at full potential cost us a lot during WC and 6n...
And the team was not healed from the wc wound during last 6n.
I'm sure in 2025, without injuries hopefully France will show a better side. Sadly the home world cup won't happen again during Dupont career :(

A tous ceux qui pensent que Dupont est le meilleur joueur de l’histoire du rugby, n’oubliez pas Jonny Wilkinson ! Ce qu’il a fait pour l’Angleterre et Toulon est fantastique. Seule équipe qui a battu le sud ? L’équipe de Wilkinson. Seule équipe qui a gagné 3x la champions cup de suite ? Le Toulon de Wilkinson. Sans compter les records de points un peu partout dans les statistiques et l’usage qu’il faisait du drop !
Sauf que Jonny Wilkinson c'est chiant à voir. Mais t'inquiètes pas. Dupont en terme de palmarès ne sera pas loin de Jonny à la fin de sa carrière.
Tel Antoine Griezmann, Monsieur Dupont a la grande qualité de faire briller ses coéquipiers en même temps qu il réussit une performance individuelle exceptionnelle. Antoine, nous te souhaitons de très beaux Jeux et suivrons ton évolution avec le plus grand intérêt.

The 2 best teams in the comp. Toulouse the best attack in the comp. And the 2 top spending clubs in the comp. Is this the blueprint for rugby? Now Saracens can't spend as much as Europes elites they have dropped out of the running to be at the top table. If its just spending power that wins you trophies this game will lose its character?
As always, the situation can be looked from various angles. I undertstand your view point but If money was everything then, in soccer, PSG would have won many Chamions's cups. Toulouse is not all & only about money. There has been a real spirit in this club, for many generations of players. And it is still there with former Toulouse' players becoming trainers for the PRO TEAM. Sons are very proud too, to walk in their father's footsteps. Also, many of the French players have been knowing themselves since their teen age years. All of this creates a quite unique aymosphere, and then club.
I don't know enough about Leinster, but for Toulouse it is not only a question of money, they produce French internationals (and Italian ones now) in their academy, they don't hire them. Toulouse is in the center of a rugby players region. They also have talent scouts and club to club relations allover the world. Of course they can hire foreign internationals, like Kinghorn and Willis, but this has to do more with the situation of Scottish and English rugby. There are 4 English clubs that are performing well, is it difficult to concentrate talent in only one or two clubs?

This video doesn't show half of his highlights, and it includes a lot of ordinary passes and tackles as this channel always does which bores the audience even though it's not bad play as such.
Dupont made 5 turnovers, and it would've been 6 if not for Richie Arnold getting himself red carded.
World-class flankers rarely, if ever, make that many turnovers in one match.
One of those was a Leinster lineout drive that looked head towards the try line, he stopped it almost single-handedly.
He kicked two 50/22s, which is also extremely rare, made even better by the fact that both had to be perfect for the opposition to not cover.
As for the match being "dross", I don't have any idea what you even mean except for it being low-scoring.
But guess what? The world cup final was also low-scoring, so I guess the all blacks are dross by that logic.
The ball-handling skills of these teams was average at times, but it was an excellent contest in the technical areas of the game, both teams were extremely organised and committed in defense, and there has not been a match with so many big hits in years.

He is one of the top 3 passers of all-time alongside Aaron Smith and Fourie du Preez.
His service and his pass are incredibly quick, he can get amazing length on his pass, great variation, he's a great offloader etc.
Yes, he made some mistakes in this match.
Dupont is one of the most evasive scrumhalves ever, he has the best support lines of any scrumhalf ever, and he's one of the best defensive scrumhalves ever.

A midseason match (many of them actually) are a million times nicer to watch than this crap. If it wasnt for dupont I would of fell asleep trying to watch this rubbish. (look he's a great player but some people in here are saying the greatest ever which is just laughable stuff he's got an argument for the best kicking scrumhalf of all time although Faf Declerk at his peak was just as good).
