ha! That exact same break happened on my old P200... malossi 210 kit had got me all the way from Glasgow to Whitley Bay in England, but five miles short of getting home, midnight on the motorway, crank sheared off, setting the flywheel free under the flywheel cover. What a noise that made....

My 64 Allstate is a 4-speed. I was happily shocked. I thought all Allstates were 3 speeds but I guess at some date they quit making Vespa 3 speeds and just used 4-speeds on everything so they wouldn't have to make 2 types.
