I have a 1963 150 GL in the UK that I imported as a barn find from Italy. Now restored and on the road, took me over 3 years doing everything myself learning along the way. Modern ignition but original motor, used Scooter West motor videos a lot back then. Thanks for all the great content, if I'm ever over in the US would love to call in, even if it's to buy a t-shirt or sticker.
I have a beautiful old Vespa VBB that is fully restored 1967. It is a real beauty! I just need to fix my leaking fuel tap. It has also been converted to a battery with LED lights. Thanks for your videos!
Great vid, thanks Robot! I have an all-original color '63 150GL. I rebuilt the engine with a 177 Pinasco, Flytech Ignition, Sip Road 2.0 etc. Runs absolutely great - this summer I went on a 600km trip with my buddy who rides a 1700cc Harley Davidson, and I had no trouble at all catching up with him! Greetings from Luxembourg/Europe!
Beautiful condition - I had a 100 special in 1982 same colour - we called it Old English white. This is probably the sort of resto I would be looking for shortly but you don't often see them come up for sale in NE England. Thanks for Vintage vids Robot - that machine is the dogs dangley bits .
Great video as always Robot. I think myself as being very luck when just over two years ago, I managed to get a fully restored Italian 1965 Vespa 150 Sprint in immaculate condition in gun metal grey, its gorgeous for £2,800. Kind regards from one happy bunny in London.
Wow a great restoration. Plan to repaint my Excel 150. Ever heard? It's like T5 but here in Indonesia, it's run on 150cc or 200cc and named Vespa Excel.
I rebuilt motor thought that was going to be the hard part. Its actually the dang cables that are really giving me a hard time. I just cant see how the dinky clutch cable will be able to pull the clutch something is way wrong. On to more videos!
thanks for sharing the video ...really nice restoration... i am in india right now restoring my dad’s 1965 vespa 150 ...not sure about the trim...would like to share with you once it’s completed...to get your feedback...thanks 😊🙏
I have a 1983 pk50s V5X2T , I am having an issue with my first gear. It gives me the feeling that its missing power, once I shift to second gear I have no issues. Would you know the issue to my problem ? Thanks
It has a clutch and it's a four speed, but there's no shifter. Am I correct that the clutch is just for stopping? Then pull away and let the automatic shift happen?
The vintage Vespas have a twist grip shifter on the left grip. Pull the clutch in and rotate back for 1st, or forward through neutral into 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Front mudguard aluminum trim is incorrect. This one is fitted with the GS160 trim which is too long at the front. The original trim stops before the edge lip. The side panels and front mudguard are completely unique to this scooter.

Timing and tune up of carb needed
Were the mirrors/mirror mounts included on the original?
Always after market. Only holes for screws present on handle bar bottom
What motor is in this GL
Sir may I ask you, what kind of your scooter color??
It has a clutch and it's a four speed, but there's no shifter. Am I correct that the clutch is just for stopping? Then pull away and let the automatic shift happen?
The vintage Vespas have a twist grip shifter on the left grip. Pull the clutch in and rotate back for 1st, or forward through neutral into 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
This is a geared scooter, a proper traditional scooter NOT like your modern day plastic twist n go scooters
Robot, thanks for another great video. Do you have an opinion on using the kill switch or key to shut off the engine on modern Vespas?
Old Vespas don't have ignition keys. You turn the engine off with the kill switch.
You should do a review of the Buddy 170i!
people have been asking for a Buddy review. We’ll add it to the list. Thanks!
