That was a 17 second scream!
Three days grace and maybe neffex?
Adam Calhouns Shook Ones….he brings the heat on Mob Deeps old school beat. It’s fire and bar heavy
Adam Calhoun -"Shook Ones" Remix
Check out Jam Wayne song Flush I just found him a day ago & can't get enough!!Much love from Henderson Ga USA
“One Saved Millions…Millions Can’t Even Save One” RIP Chester.
Powerful quote 😢
Profound as fuck
Wow I like that quote man powerful
I think that's because when you are dead. Set on ending it even your closest family can't save you.
@rambowbizz Most people commit suicide on impulse. If he had written a letter, that means he has sat down and thought about it. I'm not sure if drugs and/or alcohol clouded his judgment, and he did it. You're right. I don't know if anyone could have saved but always looking back in hindsight. You want to think we could have "fixed" him.
That 17 sceonds scream is probably Chester's best scream, it's quite sad coz it is indeed a cry for help and the screams are genuine,
Rip Chester
I would say the live scream at Jimmy Kimmel, one more light, is by far his best.
Chester doing this live at The AOL sessions, proving that it is real is incredible!!!
@@paulfadeley3496Yep, that performance is the best live version of the song! The look Mike gave Chester before and after the scream is priceless, just pure pride.
It’s insane how after the scream Chester just went back into the singing the chorus
I agree with you. And I like how I see you under every video about LP, you are true fan 🤘🔥
me sitting here grinning, knowing THE scream is coming 😁 17 seconds of pure emotion
Me as soon as I clicked the video 😂
Me as soon as I saw the notification for the video 😂
Me as soon as I saw this comment.
*Scream like a Devil, Sing like a Angel* 💯
Been waiting for more Linkin Park reactions. The 17 second scream will never not amaze me.
When you have a chance, you should watch the live version of this song, when he says “hyperventilate” it’s so powerful and when he does his long “misery”
What gets me is not just the 17 second scream like Dayum but the immediate after starts singing like an angel like he didn't just gutted out his vocal cords half a second ago.
He poured his entire soul into every single song, it's a shame that nobody could save one of the greatest artists of all time. RIP Chester
He was murdered suicide was the cover up for it same as his friend 6 months earlier and Anthony bordain later the following year
I read or heard somewhere, that after seeing and hearing Chester perform that song for the first time, Mike (rapper, other singer) stayed by Chester's side all night just to make sure he was going to be okay. Mike said he'd never felt that much emotion coming through, and it scared him. I just wish someone could've found the right healing that Chester needed. He definitely had a one of a kind voice. R.I.P Chester Bennington, we all love and miss you and your music.
I saw them at least 5 times live. That scream was always longer live than it was on the video. It always blew my mind that Linkin Parks show that they headlined they played for 2-3 hours and they don’t stop. Maybe 20 second here or there but I am blown away that Chester never lost his voice.
Every song hits differently now with the knowledge we have now. And the 17 seconds scream. Blessing for all the listening to it
Chester. The voice of a generation. Sorely missed always treasured. ❤
Linkin park got me through my teens years. One of the best bands. Rip chester
Goosebumps. Just, goosebumps. Even before the 17 seconds, this is such a reflection of my darkest days.
The live versions of this song are even more emotional and haunting
Chester's never been forgotten
Here you go Knox. This is, in my option the best live version of this song. The audio and video quality is incredible. You can see all of his breath control and how hard he is working and every once of emotion this song brings out in him. He was such an amazing and underrated vocalist. This version is phenomenal! It makes me cry every time.

That line and how he draws out misery. I've heard this song countless times, and this time, I realized put me out of my misery is what he Emma yet he holds on to that last note. He literally prolongs his misery.
That scream sends chills down my back, every time... what a beautiful person Chester was. 💔
I was in that video. Right in the crowd where he does his scream. Funny intense being so close with the microphone basically hitting my face.. one of the best concerts ever.
Linkin Park is the band that started my journey into hard rock back in high school. It’s great to see someone with such an appreciation for music discovering their discography
"When my time comes, forget the wrong that I've done"
"Help me leave behind some, reasons to be missed"
"Don't resent me, when you're feeling empty"
"Keep me in your memory and leave out all the rest..."
RIP Chester. Gone but never Forgotten
I wish this was the live version from Clarkston. Just to watch his actions during his signing. But great break down, Knox. Much love to you and everyone in the chat.
My favorite band of all time! RIP Chester! You are very much missed! Awesome band & video! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
17 sec scream ...... The best rock scream . RIP legend Chester :(
The insane thing is he sounded just like this live. Any live performances you watch, he will scream just the same. True legend. We all loved him so much, he had no idea.
I have been listening for Linkin Park for so long, always knowing that each song was more than "just a song", hoping that Chester would make it. That he would find what he needed. What he deserved. While also understanding. Understanding inner demons and what they do to you. How hard it is to hear the world when those inner demons are screaming in your head. Taking all the focus. Being in that fog. Not seeing the things that exists outside of the fog. And the people who care about you not being able to reach you inside that fog.
Yup, chester done 17 scream in live. Given Up AOL live
Love you Knox, what a talent you are. I love your breakdowns……. Spot on, you really help us hear what we miss. Thank you
Linkin Park live always delivers. Love watching their full concerts.
Btw he did that 17 seconds scream live a couple times, he's a fucking legend.
this band shaped my childhood and teen years. this song was a cry for help that i’ve felt in my own life. rip chester, thank you for everything ❤
His music and screams were cathartic for him I'm sure. Every time he did that scream it was a release. I'm still floored he's gone but by god did he leave a legacy unlike anything we've ever known.
BRUH THIS JUST MADE MY DAY AND I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS REACTION 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is why Knox is the best at these videos man, he’s reacting to this song and breaking down the meaning of it too. This version of Chester’s screaming is very important because many bands, such as Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men, Sleeping With Sirens, We Came As Romans, Motionless in White and Beartooth either use this same style of scream in their music, or were very influenced by it.
These videos wouldn’t do too well, but if you wanna hear some amazing rhyme schemes, great song writing and lyrical structure, these songs by Linkin Park are top tier in that department:
Esaul (Xero Demo)
Hands Held High
Dedicated (1999 Demo)
Husky (Hit The Floor Demo)
Dialate (Xero Demo)
Kenji by Fort Minor (not an LP song but written and produced by Mike Shinoda, and when Jay Z heard the beat, he absolutely loved it)
When it come to Linkin Park, you HAVE to do the live performances, studio version is like a 8 out of 10, live is 20++, its on a whole other level. So, SO much more emotion behind it live.
Try Figure.09 or Given Up next
I’ve seen a lot of Linkin Park reaction videos - you always do the best.
You gotta react to more Linkin Park! I'd love to see reactions off songs from A Thousand Suns or Living Things; those albums were vastly underrated. "Lost in the Echo" would be a great song for you to react to!
Love those two albums. They're SO good!
You should definitely check out this song Live in Clarkston, that “hyperventilate” part hits so hard
The scream for help at the end is heartbreaking.
A Place for my Head, from Live in Texas. So flipping awesome!❤
Nice analysis here! I especially appreciate you putting spotlight to the use of vowels and rhythm, something I would never have realized myself!
17 seconds of the purest emotion to ever exist.... I wish I could have helped Chester... He will always be missed.. we love you brother! I hope you've found peace.
Rip Chester Bennington ❤ from the inside is a brilliant song
Love that song!
This is probably one of my favorite riffs to play on guitar. Nothing gets me pumped like this.
I usually don't watch reaction content but you really have some cool analysis and insights. Love how you just don't just go "wow he's good, this is sick!" but you break down not just the lyrics, but also the meter, rhyming scheme, and the context behind the artist. Great stuff
Their live performance in Texas was so intense to watch. All the adrenaline and intensity gives such a rush that I still watch it today when I want to hype myself up. I grew up during my worst years listening to LP and their music made me understand I was not the only person with these feelings and helped me deal with them. Chester is missed every day
I watch that concert several times a week.
The scream length was because they song was unfinished and Mike just had and Chester screams there. So Chester did that. and Mike wrote it into the song. How cool is that?
There is a live version of this. You should check it out, it’s amazing!
I love your interpretations! You always give me another perspective.
i definitely recommend watching the live version of this, it is f*cking unreal, Chester was amazing. got me through terrible teen years in the early 00s.
RIP CHESTER ❤ big love brother ❤
Family curse is still on repeat! Such a fire song💚🤗🍀 could you please react to Linkin Park Lost? Its a song that was found after Chester passed.
They just released another one from their archive as well thats just started getting radio play.... called "Friendly Fire"
Saw LP once, and it's a top 5 show. He truthfully was a talent, Chester put everything out there, every song. The man was more than a talent, he was a driven but broken, artist.
To anyone else who experienced In the End live you'll know exactly what I mean, the crowd simultaneously emotional and excited, it's such a rare atmosphere and experience.
That scream is 17 seconds long! Its insane
OMG I love Chester so much he is the most amazing everything
Linkin Park is medicine❤ It helps in every dark time
Rip Chester we will always love you❤
The live version from Clarkston is absolutely BRUTAL.
This song packs such an emotional punch. Yes it was a cry for help, but at the same time it felt like he had to release all that. The negativity, the darkness, the pain, it all came out in those screams.
I love the message behind the song "Waiting For The End". I think you'd like breaking that one down.
DUDE! I SAW THEM LIVE AND THE GUY PULLED THAT FREAKIN LONG SCREAM PERFECTLY. I THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA FAINT. RIP CHESTER. WE LOVE YOU ❤
Every time I hear his music, makes me sad that he is no longer is with us but also happy he is no longer in pain anymore. R.I.P Chester
This song is absolutely a cry for help by Chester!!! I love your reaction to this song! This song hits me soooo hard!!! Miss Chester sooo much!!! This song definitely shows everything about Chester!!! RIP #makechesterproud
Love your reaction to Linkin Park, salute from Italy Knox 🍻
I love this song but it hurts my heart as we know he was literally crying out for help . He is so sorely missed. Rest in peace Chester
RIP Chester. That 17 second scream... There is no one like him 💜💜
It’s so crazy how big Chester’s range was, since he didn’t even have to “scream” that note, he could just hit it! I think “one more light” hurt me more to hear after Chester passed, as someone who found these guys when I struggled with depression 😢 it feels oddly ironic that Chester and I both struggled with depression but he never felt like he could beat it
Awesome to see this. Huge Lp fan here from Brisbane Australia. Saw linkin park live here 3 times and would have continued to make the effort to see them every time they made it here. Great memories. Rip Chester. You’re the man! 🙌
Knox Hill.
During the line 'I hyperventilate', he actually forces his body to shiver as he sings, which adds that almost staccato effect in the words that you mentioned.
He's using an "inside-out" technique, where he uses his body functions to build the effect
I love Linkin Park so much one of the greatest rock groups ever and RIP to Chester a great talent a true legend gone too soon 🥺
Love Knox’s music!
As someone who was able to see Linkin Park on their Meteora tour, I can definitely attest to Chester’s unrivaled vocal ability. To actually witness it in person is an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. 🩷
RIP Chester…💔
Next can we get No More Sorrows? It's one of my favourites on Minutes To Midnight.
It's 17 seconds. Sick! Chester was awesome!
Man, sick videoclip and song in the beginning of the video! Congrats!
Dude, that intro song is sick! Went and followed on Spotify and added Family Curse to my library, good stuff!
Great video, iv been a Linkin Park fan all my life and ill tell you the depth of these lyrics hit home harder and harder as you age and experience pain in the same flavor.
I have seen them live concert and chesters screams will send chills down your spine just hearin it. And watch his face turn red and almost a sadness in it as he does them is chilling.
Wow I'm early! But yeah this definitely hits different now that Chester is gone too.
❤ loving the intro, need to listen to that again! ❤
Linkin park were amazing, some song's hit so deep knowing about his abuse & ultimately what happened 🥺😢🖤
Rip Chester x
Hey Knox! Love your vids, would love to hear your thoughts On R.A the rugged man. Afterlife is such a beautiful song I feel you’d have a great time breaking down his flow and his word play !
9:32 they were so good live. I always saw them when they played anywhere near Denver. RIP
knoxs my man getting better with the songs man love form India
About a month ago when you put out the “I’ve Been Struggling” video I commented that rock can be a really cathartic thing when you’re in that headspace and this is one of the songs I suggested.
With you now covering this song I want to take a second and ask, how are you holding up, Knox?
This song was released 10 years before he passed away. The lyrics were written 12 years before he passed away. Chester wrote the lyrics just after getting out of rehab in 2005. He wrote it to help deal with his feelings from his divorce from his first wife Samantha in a healthier manner instead of turning to drugs again. During his divorce some of his feelings from his childhood were brought to the surface again and it really did not help anything. He went through a period of not knowing if he wanted to stay alive anymore since the voices in his head were telling him lies.
Mike helped with the 2 screams in the song and the whole band wrote the instrumental for the song. They really wanted to keep it the way Chester wrote it so the emotions stayed the same. I have yet to hear anyone sing this song the way Chester did because nobody has been able to match the emotion in Chester's voice.
You can find quite a few live performances of the song on UA-cam. One that has the 17 second scream all in one breath is Given Up AOL sessions.
Sang like an angel screamed like a demon. Died a LEGEND RIP chester.
Thank you Mr Knox Hill. Youre a real one, and I appreciate it.
There will never be another Chester and I’m honored to have shared this planet with him if but for a brief period of time. The gift he gave us as angst teenagers through music. We love you Chester ❤
Amazing vocals!!
Seeing people react to the legendary scream is always the highlight.
I have been to a _lot_ of live shows - LP remains one of my top two- the combination of the energy (probably the most positive energy and crowd I've ever seen- everyone was so dang nice and friendly- so little attitude) of the crowd and the energy of the band was just amazing - I am absolutely heartbroken that I'll never be able to see them again like that- like Ren LP (specifically Chester) just gets what it's like living with the bullcrap in your head and the music is where I go to hide where I feel like someone understands. Chester made the comment several times in interviews that the inside of his head was a bad neighborhood where you shouldn't go alone and I resonate with that - I just take the music with me (Ren, LP, Disturbed)
you should check out the live version
So much darkness in one soul can only end up in one place. Even all the light, just makes the shadow even darker.
An ad interrupting the Chester Scream nearly had me drop YT forever.
One of my favourites ❤
there is an AOL session its called for this song and he did it live one of the best screams ever¡¡¡ RIP to chester we always miss him meeen
When it comes to that 17 second long scream, especially on the live version of Given Up, I think Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice put it best;
It sounds like an animal in pain, screaming, just kill me.
Which is, sadly, kind of the feeling he was going for with this
There's a video taken at Chester's last concert that's devastatingly beautiful. The way he connected with the audience was amazing. It won't let me share the link but it's title is last show chester bennington linkin park one more light birmingham 06.07.17
Knox, I've been accompanying your reactions for a while now, specially the ones about ERB. I love your videos, and I am kindly asking that you react to the This is War battle rap series by Falconshield, it's about League of Legends and it's amazing, I'm sure you'll love it. I do recommend that you study a bit about the lore of the videos you're watching though because the verses has a lot of lore and references to the game
