- I hope you enjoy coming along with me to Nippori Fabric Town in Tokyo, Japan. A whole town dedicated to fabric and craft stores. With 90 stores along this street, you are seriously spoilt for choice. It was a sewing dream come true for me to visit this town and it exceeded my expectations.
If you plan on visiting, there is a helpful guide that shows all the shops in this area. Each store is numbered and I have included the number in the title for each store in the video. Here is the link to all the stores -

It is easy to get overwhelmed here so if you can, try and come twice. Once at the start of your trip to browse and one at the end to SHOP. I would also recommend bringing a mini suitcase with you for the day to store your fabrics in so you can shop hands free.

Loved seeing your fabrics! I'm a big fan of plaids, tartans, checks, gingham, wool and linen so would basically purchase every single item you did too lol. Can't wait to see what you make out of them :-)

I am still using up the stash I got in 2019. I found a great shop that sold precuts of 2 metres of those glorious dark blue and white prints. And then there are the Asian prints, in rayon. I did find a shop that sold USED kimono which do not often fit my tall and heavy frame. But I got two rolls of kimono fabric, at about US $ 10 each with about 12 metres of 13 inch wide fabric. OH, the fabulous blouse I made. I need to use most of the stash before I return to Japan a year from now. I had not thought much about seersucker until you mentioned no iron....hmm. Must take a look at such fabric.

How did you ask for your fabric to be cut? I don't know much Japanese, so I'm intimidated by having to ask the employees to cut the fabric for me 🥲
