This is a musician's band. For 3 instruments, they play like 5. Roman, the guitarist, plays lead as a backing track. He then plays rhythm in drop to sync with Eugene, their bassist. Eugene plays a 5 string bass so he can harmonize with Roman, but still run the baseline. Then there is Vlad, their drummer, who you haven't experienced yet, who combines jazz stylings with hardcore metal. Then there's Tati. We don't need to hype how awesome she is. Great reaction!

Tatiana is amazing, she has a rare talent. The rest of the band behind have the same insane level of talent. I think what catches people off guard the most is the way the music is so cohesive - no one instrument really stands out in the song but if you want to hear it, it is there. The sound they make is much bigger than the 3 musicians and a (beautiful) singer - kinda like Rush did for over 4 decades. Keep listening to Jinjer, you will continually be impressed by their "sound" 🤘

Dmitry Kim was the drummer in this video. He was a fill-in after their prior drummer was in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He decided that the tour schedule was too much for him since he was primarily a session drummer, and an excellent one at that. In 2016 he was replaced by Jinjer's current drummer Vlad who is every bit as good as Dmitry. Many would argue (myself included) that Vlad is even better. GREAT band, all GREAT musicians and they are fronted by one of the most powerful voices in Metal today (also she's utterly adorable). You are going to love these guys, I bet.

As a musician I truly enjoyed your reaction as you appreciated things that many people do not. Nothing of Jinjer’s will disappoint you. Generally people start with the softer “Pisces“ and progressed to songs such as this. Believe it or not this is middle aggressiveness for Jinjer as they have other songs that are so heavy that they border on death core. If you’d like to hear a beautiful song by them check out one of the newer songs called “ Wallflower “, it will take you on a musical journey from the ghost notes too… I won’t say 😅

Interesting to see one start a Jinjer journey with this song. One of my favorite from them, but usually found later. They are from Ukraine. This drummer filled in for a couple of years until they found their current drummer and he was fantastic, but their current drummer, Vlad, is amazing. Every member is an exceptional musician. Roman is on guitar, Eugene on bass and Tatiana on vocals.

Excellent reaction. Their new drummer is also very good. In fact Jinjer songs in general are a real musical feast for drummers. their current drummer Vlad was originally a classically trained pianist. It shows in the way he approaches things. I would recommend specific songs but the list would be quite long. There are drum playthrough videos and guitar and bass playthroughs of many of their songs as well. One of their most recent songs "Vortex" is a pretty good example of Vlad's playing but as I said pretty much all of them are. They are excellent live. I have a playlist of live songs you could look through for reactions or just listening.

They are from Donetsk in eastern Ukraine , where the fighting started in 2014. Russian is their native language.
Tatiana can easily switch between clean and harsh vocals. She really doesn't do anything special to take care of her voice, she even smokes. They also switch genres at times during the course of songs.
Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass. Dmitriy, seen here on drums, was their 4th drummer in 7 years. Shortly after this came out, Vlad took over behind the kit, and has been there ever since.
The guys were allowed to leave Ukraine a few months ago, and they are back on tour.
You liked Dmitriy, you will love Vlad, who is classically trained on piano. They did a live session of their song ,Pisces, to showcase Vlad shortly after he joined. that is the song that most reactors start with, you will see why when you get to it. Also try, Vortex, Teacher teacher, Perennial (live at Wacken 2019), Judgement (and Punishment)

Great reaction. I Speak Astronomy is actually my 3rd favorite Jinjer song to date. Jinjer as a band are phenomenal, each member is super talented, as others have mentioned, the drummer in this video is Dmitry Kim who was a fill in drummer, he is an absolute machine on the drums, their current drummer is Vlad, he's been the drummer since 2016 and he is also an amazing drummer, he plays with a jazz feel and is incredibly technical. If you continue your Jinjer journey, you will see and hear Vlad on the drums. Roman (guitar), and Eugene (bass) are also incredible musicians, and there is Tati, she is just out of this world vocally. What you will discover with Jinjer is every song is unique and different, some songs are really heavy, others are not, but each of them are fantastic. I'm going to suggest Vortex (OMV) or Teacher Teacher (OMV) as a possible next Jinjer reaction, the song structures on both of those songs I think you will absolutely love, Vlad is the drummer on both of those songs. Keep up the great reactions, continue to enjoy your Jinjer journey, and as always, stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

      @@StrateleStudios I'm so goddamn glad! ^^
Jinjer is the band's name, the singer is Tatiana Shmayluk, and as you have been able to have a little taste of, she's pretty good! xD
And that's her 5+ years ago, she's been improving since then, if you can believe it...
The drummer in this recording/video (Dmitriy Kim) is no longer with the band, but I think you'll appreciate his replacement just as much. Vladislav Ulasevich is his name, he's a classical pianist who decided to morph into a metal/jazz fusion drumming demigod. His musical approach to the drum set is amazing. Listen to Vortex for example, or the Pisces "Live Session" video that was basically made as an introduction to the fans for this new drummer.
Eugene, the bassist, isn't put forward very much in this particular song, but I consider him to be the "soul" of Jinjer. Perhaps not quite as much as Tuomas with Nightwish, but sort of. Jinjer originally had multiple guitarists, like many metal bands, but are now a four-piece band which prompted Eugene to pick up a 5-string bass to compensate. From what I know musical composition is very much a shared effort between the musicians in the band, with Tatiana basically coming up with a meaning for music the guys have composed and writing beautiful lyrics to lay on top of it.
Roman is the guitarist, and I think the guitar parts in this band are quite unusual because they're the foundation, with the "rhythm section" going all over the place. So you won't find many guitar solos in their songs, but as you say, you don't miss them haha ^^
I'll let others make recommendations for the next one, because I can't settle on anything myself right now, I just want you to enjoy more of their stuff ;)

One of their great specialties is the compelling yet elusive groove that your body can't quite nail! If you like jazz-infused progressive metal, check out JINJER - Ape (Official Video) | Napalm Records, or JINJER - Home Back (Official Video 4K) | Napalm Records. Both are brutally heavy.
If you like reggae or just want to see Tatiana switch vocal styles on a dime in a single take, check out JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment) - Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance.
If you like groove metal, check out JINJER - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) | Napalm Records.
If you like progressive thrash metal, check out JINJER - Mediator (Official Video) | Napalm Records, possibly their fastest, heaviest song to date.
If you like metalcore, check out JINJER - Outlander OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO (live at Loadfest 3.0), featuring Tatiana in dreadlocks.

Man I really love that you appreciate all kinds of music. Really great analysis on this for a first-time listen-through. Jinjer is a deep rabbit hole and _very_ worth it, both in an artistic sense and a business sense. Definitely go further with them!
I think Jinjer is the best metal band today... _possibly_ the best metal band, full stop, which I know is a _lot_ to claim, but man, even going back and listening to the classics, I often find myself wishing Metallica had thrown in some of Jinjer's jazzy progressions, for example.

@@StrateleStudios Well if it's any consolation it really is a good song, though imo far from their best, kind of middle of the pack. It is also a stunning intro to Vlad, their permanent drummer, who started as a conservatory trained concert pianist who then self taught drums when his previous band lost their drummer. As Jinjer's only formally trained musician, he's helped take their already spectacular compositional skills to a whole new level.
The drummer in this video, Dmitry Kim, is a fine and very technically proficient metal drummer, but Vlad is special. You'll see. ;)
