Really really appreciate a focus on motion graphics performance. Everyone focuses there tests on easy to quantify, benchmarks, and render tests. But I don’t care about that either of those things I can always take a break and walk away from the computer during rendering. I just want smooth playback in the most amount of instances, regardless of how hard I’m pushing the machine. As an editor, that is all the matters for me.
Is the heat issue really that serious like everyone is claiming? I cannot find a great source that explains the heat issue. Some folks say that it is crazy hot, while others say that they don’t feel any difference. I know the heat sink is smaller and that was a supply chain issue….any thoughts?
It's insane that it could get better, but there are some legitimate situations and types of users where an upgrade makes sense. Some that I didn't want to hear myself lol
Yes, most of us having an M1 chip will have enough performance for years. The M2 is clearly a much better machine, and if I were coming from an Intel Mac, I would pay the extra for M2 over M1; that is a no-brainer as some tasks have massive upgrades, like Docker, and the 40% GPU gain to boot. Add the much faster wifi, the latest Bluetooth codecs, single-core and multicore CPU upgrades along with 50% faster RAM...etc.
I wouldn't want to replace mine for the M2 Max. The extra power is something I don't need. Heck, I only bought the M1 Max because it was just 200 dollars more than the M1 Pro, as I bought it during a period where there was a major discount. You'll be absolutely fine for at least a decade with the M1 Max.
That is usually anti-apple propaganda from the usual trolls. There is no proof of that. Apple made a genuine mistake with the iPhone by not telling people that they reduced the wattage when the battery could not cope with higher wattage. However, this was addressed and not intentionally done to promote upgrades, more to tell users to renew their battery.
@@andyH_England ohhhh ok yeah makes more sense tysm! My dad keeps saying that Apple reduces performances for users to upgrade, and I knew that its not true, but I didn’t know how to explain it to him and how to prove him wrong lol my dads pretty hard headed he’s still on his iphone 6 and a REALLY old macbook he tries to fix it every time it has an issue and refuses to upgrade even tho the mac is on its last breath. Im sure that money he spent on that laptop could have brought him a new one, im getting myself a new mb m2 14 pro and im thinking about getting him the m2 air but i gotta soften his head first🤣🫤
I just got my first MacBook ever 3 days ago. It's just amazing. Got the 16 inch m2 max 32gb 1tb ssd space gray one. This laptop completely changed my perception about laptops. All the speed, the performance, the battery life(which is insanely good), the screen, the integration with iPad, everything is amazing. But my favorite thing about this laptop is the trackpad. By using the trackpad for the past 3 days, it's getting harder and harder to use a regular mouse. It's my first MacBook ever, but it totally convinced me, and I think I just can't look back to Windows laptops anymore
My thinking is that when you purchase a device, do yourself a favour and get the best out of the best. Yeah, the cost will hurt, but when you use that thing for a long time, it will be worth it. I will be purchasing a MacBook Pro, once I start earning myself (that’ll be in about an year when I get my first paycheck after completing my graduation in Medicine), and that will be a 16 inch model with 1TB Storage. But until then, my Lenovo laptop is doing the job for me, and it is 4 years old now. So, yeah, upgrading from a trash laptop to a Mac will be a great addition for my Apple Ecosystem arsenal, and I can’t wait for the time to come for me to upgrade my Laptop.
@@lordofbathurst 16 GB is enough for me, for my purpose of work and light gaming. I don’t care about the frame rates and other stuff that needs loads of RAM. My current laptop with 8 GB RAM is sufficient enough for me, so, a 16 GB RAM would be more than enough for me.

Totally. That's the thing constantly missing in tests and it drives me nuts! I was like "I guess I'll do it myself" 🤷♂️ 😅
That's weird I am getting above 300 points on the web browser test on my 16 inch M1Pro! Which version of speedometer are you using ?
The one on the website lol

I can’t imagine replacing my M1 Max until it’s totally dead. It’s the perfect machine for my needs right now
It's insane that it could get better, but there are some legitimate situations and types of users where an upgrade makes sense. Some that I didn't want to hear myself lol
Yup man, I would do the same. I have an iPhone 12 Pro since the launch, and I won’t be upgrading it anytime soon.

9:03 is that a pixel 7a?
no, lol. It's not out yet, so I wouldn't have it.
hi i' m for a question: will you do a video on the galaxy buds 2 pro?
Yeah
You should redo the SSD the T7 and G has different pre catch size that makes it faster then other that’s why you getting mix result on read and write.
They were the same. The mixed results were on the on board storage not external ssds.
LOL your cat walked into frame haha!
Ruby just LOVES being next to me allll the time 😅
Does a macbooks performance get slowed down when apple releases new MacBooks? Or is it a myth?
Myth

I got 7324 MB/s write speed on my M1 Max in Blackmagic Disk Speed Test. 8 TB SSD.

Nice! By then the M3 should be coming out soon, and I hear that should be a bigger upgrade than it was from M1 to M2.
How much RAM will you be getting?

I am wondering how much those increase improvements are due to Apple's software updates, which makes old models slower?
That's a myth. Not true. I haven't noticed a slow down in performance on the M1 at all.
