I had some pogs that were in the shapes of hexagons (or was it octagons?). What's up with those? Were those a spin off or just a different version or what?
Dude please always do more episodes of You Know What’s BS!?
James you know it's not October right
@Dude Rick Dude, for real?
Hey, Do you play mtg James? Couldn’t resist asking :(
I still have an O.J. Simpson pog. One side says "Innocent" with a happy OJ, the other "Guilty" with a sad OJ face
Damn, that HAS to be worth some serious money now! Lol.
lmao!
If the manufacturers wanted to be edgy, they should have had one side say "Innocent" with a happy OJ, the other "Guilty" with a REALLY happy OJ face.
As soon as I clicked on this video I was thinking about an OJ pog my best friend had, then I seen your comment lol he had the same exact one.
I wonder if two face made that

@@yk-lz3nr when u look they will gone....then you will question if.u ever really stored them.
Oh I miss these tbh. We called them 'tazos', it came with cheetos n lays. We played with them a bit different, we used to put them on the teachers table, each player strikes the pogs against each other like in a royal rumble. knocking the other out to win. We prepared the pogs so they would be smooth on one side , which helps to strike far while the flip side would be a bit sticky and can't be knocked off the table that easily. There were other variations , 1 vs 1 where a player can add a new pog to the table every 2 turns etc.
Oh, not gonna lie, that sounds funnier than the way its originally
I saw some Dragon Ball Super Tazos not too long ago.

Old man pokemon never died out though, pogs came and went in like 2-4 years, thanos snapped out of existence . Trading card games like pokemon and magic are still popular and alive, and valuable to collectors, pogs on the other hand lost pretty much any value it had

Here in Mexico, a Pac-Man themed Pog collection has just been released to celebrate his 40th anniversary. The Tazos, as they're called over here, have managed to maintain a certain relevance for the last 2 decades. They never stopped making them.
Fun fact, these were in the Netherlands too, and I remember calling them "Flippos". I still have my collection!
Nice ik weet dat mn jonge tante ze ook nog hebben
In Mexico they were called Tazos lol.
Die in Nederland waren veel leuker. Daar kon je echt verzamelingen mee opbouwen. En dan met die mooie mappen om ze in te stoppen.
In Korea, they were called 딱지 (thakji). The whole point was to throw it down on another one and hopefully flip it, then you were allowed to take the flipped 딱지. Instead of piling them up, you had to battle one on one.
umm they were everywhere dude
Here in Mexico, those are called "Tazos".
I remember collecting tazos from Mexican Doritos and Cheetos and “Sabritas” a Mexican knock off Lays. I had Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Doraemon tazos. I’m honestly surprised pogs still exist as “tazos” in Mexico today while they died in the US. Mexico is like a time machine. There’s a lot of old school stuff you can find mixed with new school in the big cities (like San Luis, Irapuato, Querétaro, etc.) I remember seeing vinyls from the 70s with faded labels and next door was a shoe store with shoes like Pirma, Charly, Concord, Voit, Joma, Umbro, Mitre, Lotto, New Balance. Honestly, that’s what I like about Mexico.

*I membe*
The only way you’re getting my pogs and slammers is from my cold dead hands.
Challenge Accepted!
Pogs were popular af when I was a kid in post Soviet union (early 2000s), though we played it differently. We didn't stack them, but instead each participant would hold their pog by the edge face down, and then drop them on hard surface at the same time. All the pogs still facing down after the drop went into a winnings pot. Anyone with a pog facing up, would go up against each other again until one would be left with a pog facing up. The last remaining player would take the pogs from the pot. Rinse and repeat.
I guess the flaw here was that you could get good enough to flip the pogs every time, and plastic ones (like pokemon pogs) were the best for a guaranteed flip to face side up.

Pogs were reintroduced in 1991 when a fifth grade teacher at Waialua Elementary School on Oahu taught it to her students as a way to practice math and to provide a less physically dangerous game than dodgeball. @@johnny2x484 It's interesting that he brought up Magic: The Gathering. In 1996, Wizards of the Coast knew that the game was dying, so they had to find a way to keep it going. The only pog I have heard of is a pogCHAMP
Poggers
It actually comes from pogs. Someone combined "pogs" and "slammers" to make "poggers" there's a video on the history of the term if you look it up
@@lefti8370 Oh, Thanks, I didn't know that
You’re hilarious man 🤣
Pogchamp’s been canceled now so Pogs are officially dead.
thats not *pog*
I thought this was gonna be a different kind of pog.
No stop
Maybe it's cause i'm old, but that joke went over my head and I need it explained to me.
@@thebluethunderbunny2324 It's a new term I guess for "cool" I think, not too sure. I'm 25, dont really use the word. I have heard people throw the terms poggers or pogs around though and usually the context is based on something they like. Thats as much as I know, never really asked.
It’s a Twitch thing, for everybody that’s confused.
What like pawg?
I’ve missed these! So glad their back!
You mean pogs, or BS videos?

@@stuporman i wonder if there were ness caps there? then...
@@quickman2663 Yes
@@PetermanMagnoKit They also had that version of it called Tazos in Portugal back in the 90s, but they also had the actual POGS as well. Tazos were considered to be some lame bootleg version of POGS, but eventually became more popular, because of massive advertising, since you would get them from chips and snacks, and they theme for Tazos were mainly Looney tunes characters.
My mom 15 years ago: “You still play with these pogs?”
Me: Nope
My dad: They cardboard? I’ll burn em
Me and the boys still play Pogs every day after work 😎
