Love is often wasted on the undeserving. Lindsay should slap on his blinders to the past as though it never happened. Then his mind would be free and he could mix it up with some other musicians, create new memories, create new music, and that is what keeps you young and alive. What I mean is to recreate, become forward looking, not reminiscing which is something that old people do when they have given up on creating anything new. Recreation is the fountain of youth. We think recreation means rest or taking a time out but what it really means is activity from a blank slate. Recreate.

I think Lindsey has mellowed a lot in his years. He seems more humbled. I think he loved her more than she did him. I think they were both just way to intense for each other. Sort of like competing personalities. That happens a lot with artists who are in a relationship with each other. I also believe the drugs, especially cocaine, they took heavy partake in their young years probably had an adverse effect on Lindsey's personality because he seems to me to already be an energetic hyper kind of guy. Coke does not go well with that kind of person. Hence his tendency to having a volatile temper. I dont know of course, just observing from a far I get the feeling thats how it is. Any way, I've loved the Mac my entire adult life. Since I first heard them in 1974. Every dime I spent buying their albums and going to their concerts.... worth every single penny. I think she protests too much. She will never admit she still cares/loves Lindsey. But a mark of somebody really not caring another person is indifference. I don't think Stevie loves him if you listen to MANY of her interviews. She finds him maddening, and if you read between the lines of what she's said she doesn't really find him that "attractive" anymore, meaning she's not attracted to his talent at the expense of what drives her nuts about him. Ergo, this isn't an "even" relationship. Lindsay appears to have less issues with Stevie than vice versa.
No matter what Lindsey and Stevie say in interviews, of course they will downplay their deepest feelings for each other out of respect for Lindsey's family. But the way they say certain things and also the way they look at each other and touch each other, it is so heartbreakingly obvious how much in love with each other they still are. They don't realize how UGLY things got between the 2. During many different eras. She was boinking guys and having them sit in the front row of shows to taunt him, he had a terrible temper and it got physical at times, he then was dating a real nutjob in the early 80s who ended up making Nicks' life a living hell. These are the under-the-hood stories that reveal some of the ugly truths. The fans want it to be something that the 2 of them know is far from the truth. He himself has admitted they play off that desired dynamic onstage, meaning it may LOOK genuine, but it's all part of the showmanship that makes their stage presence so powerful. This is not a romance novel, it's just life with its beauty and true ugliness amplified by the rock n roll lifestyle.

I appreciate and value Stevie's music immensely, but her attitude is total garbage as of late. She should have just left, it's wrong to pin her front-woman vocals against Buckingham's mastery of both the guitar and music production. She asked the band to sell out for tickets and they complied. A band with integrity would have dismissed Stevie instead: she no longer wants to make new music, whats the point?
Case in point. You can love something or someone deeply, profoundly, eternally, but it's just not good for you. It's just not meant to be. He still loves her, but it's just not meant to be, for whatever reason.
I really would be somewhat insecure if I was any of his girlfriends or now wife because although I am sure he loves his wife and family there is just something still there for his soul mate, Stevie and that would be hard to deal with. To say what he said in this interview is one thing but it's what is in his voice and the eyes just give it away that he would have never wanted to part ways with his Stevie whom I sense he will always love. The great thing is that a younger wife doesn't take away the love and memories for a woman who is now in her 60's and as he said their relationship is still a work in progress. Stevie decided to issue that ultimatum when she felt Lindsey was mocking her speech in 2018, where she reflected her loneliness and her appreciate for the fans in filling that gap. That's not a fun place to be, when the ones you called on the most have passed on. But that's why you can't let your relationships get stagnant.

I always wonder what Lindsey's wife thinks about him and Stevie. It must be so hard to live in an odd triangle like that. Stevie had her priorities out of order and wrong. Next after God Marriage is number , not anything else let alone your job! That was her problem which she said our of her own mouth. She put the band and career above her marriage. The marriage relationship is Number 1 in the line of priorities. Even children and family are number 2 because you need to keep a good marriage relationship to have a good family. All the rest come after this. This is why most marriages break up, their priorities are out of wack.
Knowing this video and your comment are years old I don't feel too bad for his wife. She's the one he married, not Stevie. Plus bore a few kids with him and I'm sure she'll inherit his money. This coming from someone who has LOVED them for over 40 years.

I think Lindsey has mellowed a lot in his years. He seems more humbled. I think he loved her more than she did him. I think they were both just way to intense for each other. Sort of like competing personalities. That happens a lot with artists who are in a relationship with each other. I also believe the drugs, especially cocaine, they took heavy partake in their young years probably had an adverse effect on Lindsey's personality because he seems to me to already be an energetic hyper kind of guy. Coke does not go well with that kind of person. Hence his tendency to having a volatile temper. I dont know of course, just observing from a far I get the feeling thats how it is. Any way, I've loved the Mac my entire adult life. Since I first heard them in 1974. Every dime I spent buying their albums and going to their concerts.... worth every single penny. They have given me so much joy. Each and every one of them! I LOVE THE MAC!

a lot of times when you are away from someone you have had a relationship with, it is easy to be nostalgic for what was and what could have been, however if you try to rekindle the relationship and make it work , some of the reasons that it fell apart resurface.
it is easy to dream of them being together, but then you don't have to wake up every morning and make the relationship work, so maybe leave them to decide on their own.
like the man said "you know very little about them then" if you don't understand that it was a painful breakup for Lindsey and there are reasons that Stevie isn't interested in going back to it again. a lot of it is in interviews and music industry stories and rumors, but a lot of it is stuff you will never know.
bottom line: if it hasn't happened after all of these years, there are probably good reason it hasn't, so leave it alone.

Not according to her story in rolling stone magazine a few years ago. Seems like in every you tube interview I see of Stevie Talking about him she doesn't seem very kind.
I think she protests too much. She will never admit she still cares/loves Lindsey. But a mark of somebody really not caring another person is indifference. She could easy say "yeah Lindsey and I are fine." But she doesn't, she always finds something to criticise about him. God forbid anything ever happens to Lindsey, but she will definitely be heartbroken. Maybe losing Tom Petty, her great friend, might make her realise, life's too short.

I don't think Stevie loves him if you listen to MANY of her interviews. She finds him maddening, and if you read between the lines of what she's said she doesn't really find him that "attractive" anymore, meaning she's not attracted to his talent at the expense of what drives her nuts about him. Ergo, this isn't an "even" relationship. Lindsay appears to have less issues with Stevie than vice versa.

No matter what Lindsey and Stevie say in interviews, of course they will downplay their deepest feelings for each other out of respect for Lindsey's family. But the way they say certain things and also the way they look at each other and touch each other, it is so heartbreakingly obvious how much in love with each other they still are. They will always belong to each other in a very precious way. They are the most beautiful couple ever. I just pray they finally give in to their feelings one day and get back together forever. I dream of Stevie & Lindsey reuniting. It would be the most beautiful and amazing thing to ever happen. They belong together, and I truly believe that is their destiny. I'm still so interested in their relationship. They have crazy stage chemistry even today. It's almost more romantic that they are not together. It must make it hard to get over completely though. They don't realize how UGLY things got between the 2. During many different eras. She was boinking guys and having them sit in the front row of shows to taunt him, he had a terrible temper and it got physical at times, he then was dating a real nutjob in the early 80s who ended up making Nicks' life a living hell. These are the under-the-hood stories that reveal some of the ugly truths. The fans want it to be something that the 2 of them know is far from the truth. He himself has admitted they play off that desired dynamic onstage, meaning it may LOOK genuine, but it's all part of the showmanship that makes their stage presence so powerful. This is not a romance novel, it's just life with its beauty and true ugliness amplified by the rock n roll lifestyle.

I appreciate and value Stevie's music immensely, but her attitude is total garbage as of late. She should have just left, it's wrong to pin her front-woman vocals against Buckingham's mastery of both the guitar and music production. She asked the band to sell out for tickets and they complied. A band with integrity would have dismissed Stevie instead: she no longer wants to make new music, whats the point?

I really would be somewhat insecure if I was any of his girlfriends or now wife because although I am sure he loves his wife and family there is just something still there for his soul mate, Stevie and that would be hard to deal with. To say what he said in this interview is one thing but it's what is in his voice and the eyes just give it away that he would have never wanted to part ways with his Stevie whom I sense he will always love. The great thing is that a younger wife doesn't take away the love and memories for a woman who is now in her 60's and as he said their relationship is still a work in progress. Nice to know that age has nothing to do with true love and everlasting love. If they decided to get back together what a moment that would be.

Its amazing the restraint and love he shows for Stevie. You can tell he wants to say more, but is not willing to go down that road. Unrequited love is so painful, especially when you have spent that better part of your life loving someone and still have mutual feelings for each other, but just can't seem to make it work anymore and eventually rehash and open OLD WOUNDS. This is what we do in the CO DEPENDENCY relationships. Sad...very sad....truthfully, I fell Lindsey never truly got the respect he earned and deserves and Stevie has turned into a PRIMA DONNA! The band is NOTHING without him! They were and remain THE SUM OF ALL THE PARTS, like any great band! PERIOD!

I have loved this couple since I have no memory. They are both outstanding in their own rights, let alone together. One of my earliest memories was "Second-Hand News" on the radio. To this day, I teach my son and daughter One of the best connections and loves was a girl named Stevie and a man named Lindsey. MY KIDS are in grade School and could pick out both their voices and his guitar......

It has to be tough to see your former partner (and soul mate) grow and evolve as a person, while your own situation remains stagnant. Stevie decided to issue that ultimatum when she felt Lindsey was mocking her speech in 2018, where she reflected her loneliness and her appreciate for the fans in filling that gap. That's not a fun place to be, when the ones you called on the most have passed on. But that's why you can't let your relationships get stagnant.
Lindsey no doubt still has strong feelings for Stevie (and she for him), and good for both of them to not say anything disrespectful about each other. Stevie also said recently they will always be closely connected. I love Stevie, but I have to be a bit biased towards Lindsey - my surname is also Buckingham, lol.

I've got a Rolling Stone mag that is dedicated to FMac and the band members touch upon the physical abuse a little. It's a touchy subject, Lindsay denies it, Stevie never mentions it, the band kinda verifies it. They were there.

Stevie would not be where she is if it wasn't for Lindsey he brought her into the fold and yes she wrote some great poems which he magically made into great songs without his touch a lot of her music wouldn't be what it is today
