Fleetwood Mac was a great band with a lot of backstage turmoil. The Rumors album spoke largely to the anguish going on not only with Lindsey and Stevie, but with John and Christine McVie as well. Both couples split, yet continued collaborating as a band. From all accounts, it was difficult at best.
Plus Stevie then had an affair with Mick Fleetwood and her drug problem almost killed her. I saw them alive in the late 80’s without Lindsay and she had a tent on the side the stage. After almost every song she’d disappear. I’m sure she was doing drugs because she sure wasn’t changing every time she disappeared. I think Stevie never got over the break up and that is why she won’t let Mick let Lindsay in the band anymore. She never to grow up.
Christine McVee was & is my favorite. The band imploded behind too much $, too much drugging, & too much public adulation. I stopped listening to FM after Peter Greene left.
Maryland girl here. Fun Factoid: Stevie Nicks was in Maryland- driving on our Beltway. She saw a sign saying "Silver Spring" and thought it was beautiful and named her song after our city.
That is sort of messed up what happened to Lindsey but I guess it kind of doesn't matter anymore since after christine passed away I think the bad is basically over
