When Matt explained about not being able to buy gearbox parts from Nissan, this is what angers me about the way companies operate in the modern world, while every one of them demands to us "we need to save the planet". It tell us climate change and net zero is complete nonsense! Who in their right mind is gonna pay £30k or whatever stupid price for a new gearbox or indeed EV battery?! You might as well scrap the car, like Matt said, it's just a throw away item at that point! How is that "saving the planet" when items that are perfectly repairable are thrown way? It's not is it! All because greedy companies want to sell you sealed units or completely new items - which means more raw resources mined. Nissan could easily sell a single gearbox part for a few hundred quid, and keep cars on the road for longer, actually saving the planet. This sort of behaviour by car manufacturers is why I'm done buying new cars.

Mat what your listener said is not dumb! It's just not for every car the same.. BUT Side airbags with pressure sensors in the door work by detecting rapid changes in air pressure within the door cavity. When a side collision occurs, the impact compresses the air in the door, triggering a pressure sensor. This sensor then sends a signal to the airbag control unit, activating the side airbags within milliseconds to protect the occupants. The airtight covers inside the door are crucial because they maintain the door’s air-tightness, allowing accurate pressure detection in case of an impact. If these covers are not properly reinstalled after a repair, the pressure sensor might not detect changes accurately, delaying airbag deployment and reducing passenger protection.
Side impact crash sensors certainly include pressure sensors in some cars where it reacts to air pressure. It reacts to a rapid increase/spike in air pressure so that's why it's fine at altitude etc as it's about the relative pressure. For the same reason, the whole clips affecting the sensor is BS as it's not about the sensor having to read an X amount of increase in pressure to trigger, more it just has to be a spike in pressure relative to the baseline pressure(which is constantly adjusted).
Cars actually use Air pressure sensors in their doors to detect an impact. Due to the smaller crumple zone at the side of the car they have to react quicker (around 5ms). They don‘t detect small atmospheric changes like door shuting or driving up a mountain, but because you left a unsealed hole in your door the air might escape quicker during impact and the pressure won‘t rise as quick or at all, so your Airbag won‘t deploy or deploy later. But I don‘t now if your Gaillardo has such a sensor and if the small hole actually affects the reaction time of the sensor… But for your safety I would definitely check if your car uses these special sensors. P.S.: I‘m not an expert but this is what I found out

I've also found this from a Bosch website on about crash sensors...this one is referring to a Peripheral Pressure Sensor... "...is installed in the door cavity providing fast and robust side impact detection. The sensor continuously measures atmospheric pressure and detects any changes resulting from a deformation of the door. In comparison to central sensors, the peripheral pressure sensor makes it significantly easier to distinguish between an actual impact and harmless impulses. By means of continuous pressure distribution within the door interior, the entire door acts as a sensory element."
