How Pride Rock ended up so desolate and wasteland-ish is because you have (in movie presentation) two massive groups of predators hunting in the same turf. @@teletoonandytvarchives4004 Never trust Tik Tok as a reliable source because it's not. And the skull is way to wide to be a lion's skull, it was a primate skull.
They might have intentionally made the skull a baboon skull to parallel how a baboon was Mufasa's friend. Showing a dark twist with a deceased baboon being Scar's play-thing.
It could also be more referencing Hamlet, which was where the story of The Lion King originally got inspiration from (I know that there was some Japanese movie in the middle, but whatever). Likely a reference to the skull of Yorick, which Hamlet is most iconically known for holding. Since we don't have humans in this movie, the skull of a baboon would have been the closest thing to a human skull that they could get.
That actually makes a lot of sense. You could also apply that to the fact that Zazu was a servant or helper to Mufasa, and then becomes a slave to Scar, thus parallelism again
Honestly he didn't have to go through this thoroughly to prove it Legit for the hyenas dont eat lions claim he could have just mentioned how scar was eaten by hyenas at the end, and for the skull part he could have just simply stated that the skull looks absolutely nothing like lion skulls

Well, I think it’s more of a spur of the moment reaction than anything. Seeing how Scar only knew Simba as a kid and that Simba grew up to look a lot like Mufasa, he probably freaked out thinking the worse possible scenario. I mean, even his mother had mistaken Simba as Mufasa.
@@AlfredEiji Well it's also necessary. The worst problem within the theorizing community has always been the poorly thought out theories that go viral and are accepted as fact by the masses who prefers to listen to a short condensed idea over a carefully explained analysis And this phenomenon increased exponentially with the rise of TikTok. We need people to get things straight. And MattPat had always been interested in chasing trending topics (most proefessional youtubers do) so he'd be suited for it
It’s a baboon skull and if you look up a baboon skull the proportions are the same Ok the lion king is based of Shakespeares play hamlet and in that the skull hamlet is holding belonged to his jester So presumably scar has a baboon as a jester, got fed up of his act ( literally) and killed him and now keeps his skull And mufasas body, most likely bugs, birds scavengers since apparently hyenas don’t eat lions and neither do lions ( discovery channel and natural geographic say otherwise )
the irony in this theory is that when i was a kid i asked my dad about wether the skull belonged to the brother lion aswell.. and he was a big fan of animals and stuff and he even told me that it most likely was the skull of a Mandrill, and Rafiki is a mandrill so it would make sense that they would use the same type of monkey for that skull.. but that's talked about in the video as well and i am glad how in detail matpat goes with these!
Did your dad didn't tell you that lions wouldn't ever try to hunt a baboon or a honey bagder? They prefer to hunt a crocodile rather than those 2.. Unless it's in a very desperate condition like prolonged draught.. That baboon skull is a very nice touch to say it's a very desperate time..
@@nu-nisamiracle2401 it is after all just a skull laying around, there is no context to it.. scar just picks it up to play with, there is a lot of bones laying around in these zones, even more so if a drought and famine have affected it, so its no probe that scar eat the thing that he is holding, it is not important either.
11:41 So the entire scene was meant to give those who knew all this a heart attack that Rafiki was dead, when, prior to that, he basically held Simba up for the kingdom and then screwed off somewhere. And lived through the ordeal, even being able to help Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumba.
"When your dad dies and you have to act like you didn't just do a choreographed musical number called “I just can't wait to be king”" Edit: for those who are saying "stolen meme" 15:40
I always thought that the pridelands became so unfertile because Scar and the Hyenas ate too many animals all the time, and didn't let them repopulate.
That explains the lack of animals, but not the lack of rain and grass. That last part can only be explained as a cosmic punishment for Scar's actions, an unnatural unbalance or a huge coincidence. Now, imagine being crowned king just to face the dryest year in the Pridelands just because of coincidence or bad timing. That would be like being elected president just before a pandemic.
@@Alejandroigarabide It’s also very Shakespearean. Just like this story draws a lot from Hamlet, Macbeth also features scenes where nature is discussed as being corrupted and turned on its head after the unnatural death of the king and break in succession.

I absolutely love the reference at 1:51
They might have intentionally made the skull a baboon skull to parallel how a baboon was Mufasa's friend.
I thought it might be a hyena
That actually makes a lot of sense. You could also apply that to the fact that Zazu was a servant or helper to Mufasa, and then becomes a slave to Scar, thus parallelism again

I believe this might have been said but proof scar didn't eat his him is that scar had mistaken Simba as Mufasa when they meet
What a Chad right here.
I don't think that was true at all the way I took it was that couldn't believe it was him even though he knew Mufasa was dead.

The Tik-Tok Theorists. Perfect, plus he literally made the logo and used it in this video so maybe that’s the fourth quadrant 😱😱😱
Seems a bit too derivative, don’t you think?
@@AlfredEiji Well it's also necessary. The worst problem within the theorizing community has always been the poorly thought out theories that go viral and are accepted as fact by the masses who prefers to listen to a short condensed idea over a carefully explained analysis
And this phenomenon increased exponentially with the rise of TikTok. We need people to get things straight. And MattPat had always been interested in chasing trending topics (most proefessional youtubers do) so he'd be suited for it

So presumably scar has a baboon as a jester, got fed up of his act ( literally) and killed him and now keeps his skull

the irony in this theory is that when i was a kid i asked my dad about wether the skull belonged to the brother lion aswell.. and he was a big fan of animals and stuff and he even told me that it most likely was the skull of a Mandrill, and Rafiki is a mandrill so it would make sense that they would use the same type of monkey for that skull.. but that's talked about in the video as well and i am glad how in detail matpat goes with these!

In the lion King we saw scar EATING some thing that looked a Lot like a LION.
Since The Lion King was loosely inspired by Hamlet I always assumed this was a visual gag referencing the 'alas, poor Yorick' scene
That's likely what it was
I always thought that the pridelands became so unfertile because Scar and the Hyenas ate too many animals all the time, and didn't let them repopulate.
I thought they mentioned that in the movie tbh
That explains the lack of animals, but not the lack of rain and grass. That last part can only be explained as a cosmic punishment for Scar's actions, an unnatural unbalance or a huge coincidence.
Now, imagine being crowned king just to face the dryest year in the Pridelands just because of coincidence or bad timing. That would be like being elected president just before a pandemic.
I also thought that Shenzi or Sarabi mentioned that there's no water.
@@Alejandroigarabide It’s also very Shakespearean. Just like this story draws a lot from Hamlet, Macbeth also features scenes where nature is discussed as being corrupted and turned on its head after the unnatural death of the king and break in succession.
