Great video Bong! I feel lost now that I'm 39 years old and jobless. With $425,000 saved for an early retirement at age 50, $10,000 in an HSA, and a property that could yield an extra $200,000, what opportunities do I have for passive income?
I'm wondering if I should merge all of my investing accounts into one. How should I proceed and are there any repercussions I should be aware of if I decide to do this? In addition, I plan to sell my property, which could result in an additional 200K over time. Is it better to diversify over a few different industries or combine everything into one investing account
These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets
We also took our early retirement and travel to see the world since 2013. We still live in US for 6 months and another 6 months in SE Asia. We bought some lands there way back in 2000s but we sold most of them before the Covid. Cambodia has come a long way and it has changed so much for the better. There are always pros and cons no matter where we live as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. As we're aging, we think about our health and medical facilities more so we still travel back and forth between there. My medicare supplement plan would also cover any where with some copay and deductibles. Good luck with your retirement plans. We will be on our coming trip next month. Peace out from Minnesota ✌️
I was watching another American living over there in Siem Reap the other day and mentioned how hot it was. So i compared to where I am living here in Buriram Thailand... looks like on average Buriram, Thailand is roughly 4 degrees cooler. Enjoying your videos as a new subscriber... I learned more about your story in this video. Sounds like you lived in California and worked for the last 35 years somewhere there and spent some time in San Jose? I am from the county of Stanislaus which is Modesto/Turlock area of Central California. You're so right... work yourself until you are dead in America or finally save enough and go where you can live a life. So much easier for a native such as yourself to get into the country long term... I have a real hassle, as an American, trying to keep a valid VISA for long term stay in Thailand. My "Marriage Visa" must be renewed every year at a specific time and that makes it hard to keep it when I still travel for a few more years to USA for work. Looking to fully retire in just about 4 years... I am 56 now.
You figured out a way to escape the matrix bong. Make lots of money in the states and then stretch your dollars in Cambodia. There's no reason to wait till you're in your mid 60's to retire.
Congratulations ! I have been with the same company for 20 years. I’m thinking about calling it quit. I’m going to live life vicariously through you. If I’m inspired then I will see you in Siem Reap. :).
Hello brother it good idea when you get retired move to live in combodia without worry anything else just enjoy your new life when you get old good luck to your new life stay ….!😊
My parents are from Phnom Penh and Battambang. I'm Khmer American too. Born in the US. Don't mind my username it's after a favorite anime character. 😅 Is the process for dual citizenship easy?
@ Yes, I asked my older sister who lives here does it for me. If you born in USA I’m not sure how this process works. If you can speak Khmer maybe there are ways to get around that by creat a family book or yellow book.
Healthcare in Siem Reap, Cambodia, has improved in recent years, but it’s still limited compared to Western standards, especially for more complex medical needs.🎉🎉😊

it's reasonable to consider hiring a financial counselor at this stage, but delaying retiring for a while may be a more wiser choice

great! My portfolio is not doing well. Who is your professional?
June Renae Matthysse. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment

Bong, how is Cambodian Healthcare? Is it up to the standard for those expats like you and I?
Healthcare in Siem Reap, Cambodia, has improved in recent years, but it’s still limited compared to Western standards, especially for more complex medical needs.🎉🎉😊
Where’s your wife? How many kids do you have ?
She is here in Siem Reap with me but she doesn’t like to walk with me. I have sons who grew up both of them live in USA.
